Minor4th, I keep asking this question when you're not here. Can JM talk about her demeanor in closing arguments? Is that allowed?

ok, this is bugging me now.....anyone remember when Juan is drilling her on where someone lived....I am thinking it was Matt, with his dad maybe....and she says Phoenix...then he goes on to something else, then comes back to that same question again...like where did you say he lived? Phoenix was the answer again...(I think)....well, this Phoenix is very close to Mesa....wonder what is up with this....tells me something is....anyone?

I dunno buy I have a feeling it's gonna be really good!

I won't even mind if Juan says on Monday.... Lets back up for a minute:)

Phoenix, Oregon (she didn't say that most of the time, but one time she did).

I'm not faulting the parents for JA's murderous act, I am just saying that dishonesty often has deep roots that go back into childhood...as can damage to compassion and empathy. There's a whole lotta crazy in the world that doesn't necessarily have a criminal record....

I agree. It runs along a nature:nurture spectrum.
There is some crazy that no amount of good parenting could ever reign in (which I think may be where JA lies but I wouldn't wager on it).
On the other end of the spectrum, horrendous parenting turns what could have potentially been a normal person into a monster.

I've seen a lot of people curious about whether or not the DT had access to the magazines. I'm a criminal attorney but not in AZ. In my jurisdiction if you don't use a piece of evidence in your case in chief you don't have to disclose it and can hold it back for impeachment use. You have to wait for a certain witness to testify and wait for them to tell the lie and then lay it on them with the "extrinsic" (outside/extra evidence) to show they are lying. Doing this early in cross is also called "paper training the witness" to condition them to believe that every time they lie and know there may be other evidence out there that they are lying (like other written evidence) they assume you've got it when you ask the ? and then start picking up papers like you've got something and give up trying to lie. I thought that Miss Smirky Pants JA looked a great deal more humble when this came out and her DT looked very shocked. I would bet big $$ that when the mags didn't show up in discovery she didn't think JM had them and definitely didn't tell her DT. I've had clients like her and had this happen.

Just my 2 cents. I was really impressed with JM at that moment. He set her up for that one very nicely and I suspect there could be more to come.

IMO wasn't important except to show this monster knows no boundaries.

If she used his phone w/out permission, it makes me wonder if some of the texts 'from' TA weren't really from him at all.

My daughter's think I'm obsessed over this trial. When they call..I'm like I am watching the trial! When they come home I have Live stream on the computer and In session on the TV. So Thurs. night they came in with a big box for me, and said UPS just delivered this. I opened it up and It was orange scrubbs, (my daughter's a vet tech) and a pair of spiderman underware!! and the letter said :

Arizona State Pen
Dear Debbie,
Thank you for for watching me today, yesterday, and every minute, every second, and every hour of everyday. I sent you a pair of my jailhouse jumpsuits, and the famous spiderman underware.
Didn't I look pretty today?
See you Monday!!!

Love Jodi

PS Take a pic in them & send it to me

I LOVE your daughters! That's hysterical!!!

It was Phoenix, Oregon and JM's trying to catch her in a lie. She confirms the place three times in total IIRC.

photo

It was my label for saving it to my computer! I think I got it from one of the Justice4Travis or State v Jodi Arias Facebook sites. It is her sister, BTW.

If I am not allowed to link this, please remove.

well..well...well.. I now see the likely cause of Jodi's put down of sister being "dumb and stupid"...jmo that Jodi Arias is and has likely always been jealous of her own sister as IMO the sister is quite obviously a very attractive young woman..unlike Jodi's soulless, shark eyes sister appears to have beautiful, large chocolate eyes and just all around significantly more attractive than Jodi.. IMO that alone is something the likes of Jodi just could not handle..

of course nothing more than jmo based upon looking at the above pic..

oh alright.....but I still think there was a reason he asked her that same question twice....

You are probably using the topics header. Look at the top and move over 1 to stickies (I just looked at my iPhone).

Thank you! I found it!!!

No, Travis never even got to put the strap on his new camera. It was still brand new and in the case

I have a similar camera and case. I bought them separately. Both the camera and case came with straps. How do we know that the one strap seen in the camera case was not for the case itself? Just curious.

I haven't read back today so this may have been asked and answered but was the court reporter accused of not doing her job correctly, being related to someone connected to the trial, and having an interest in the outcome of the trial? This seems desperate to me but it may be normal considering who's on trial.

Court reporter issue is the very last page (page 5).

All i know for sure is... I don't ever have to condone a loved ones actions to love them. nothing could ever make me stop loving my son and standing by him. It doesn't mean I'm supporting the act. KWIM?

I said recently, with the local case here in my county, your loved one commits a crime, you 'know' loved one did it/had evidence did it/etc....you separate your love for that person from the crime.
Go so far as to sympathize with the victim and their loved ones even.

The family of the man that randomly lured Megan and tortured, raped, tortured some more, then set fire to her after dumping her on side of the road-acts awful to Megans family. they call them names, they stare holes in them, they say he was framed...and they say Megan wanted him.

Her family has openly shown sympathy to his children, etc.
The evidence is clear he did all of those things.
why on earth would his family show hate to her family??

My half brother is in prison, I love him, but abhor the crime he committed. He deserves to be where he is....period. (in his case, I don't *sympathize* with the other party as they were both doing the same felony at the time of the crime. )

I know every criminal has family, supporters, sympathizers...but why can they not see past their noses and hate?

Travis was a victim, he didn't deserve to leave this world that way.
