I have no doubt that it's Juan's "passion." I just think he didn't do a good job at it on Thursday and, from what I've seen and read about him in other cases, I'm not enamored of his style and abilities, in general. And while Montgomery's position is elected, it's a logical next step for a successful prosecutor -- as are any number of other "next steps" that have not been taken by Juan. I can't find his bio anywhere, but he appears to me to be in his early 50's. Phoenix is not a "sexy" venue for an aging prosecutor. And, honestly, I don't give a hoot who disagrees with me and thinks he's "juanderful." It's my opinion and I stand by it. I thought his cross was extremely lame. Fortunately for him, he's got a defendant who's lied on tape multiple times about this exact crime. She'll go down, it's just a question of how hard.

Jodi is both a sociopath and murderer, and I have no doubt that this jury will get it right, but I'm waiting for him to tie-it-together, because so far I'm not getting it. Who hasn't at one time or another called their sibling dumb or stupid?

Riiiiiiiiiight. Because people with substance abuse issues NEVER get mixed up in criminal behavior. Unless, of course, he screens his addicts to make sure they are all law abiding???? Wait a minute, Heidi Fleiss was on celeb rehab and she was a convicted panderer. See, this is exactly what I mean---Drew is sort of gullible and credulous in a way that doesn't make sense for someone who works with addicts and is covering criminal trials.

As I said before I'm sure he doesn't give a rats about what anyone thinks of the job he is doing.Juan is not there for public approval. He is there for one purpose and thats to get a conviction, his record speaks for itself.

On that note: Anyone wonder about those scary gold-panning guys? I can't remember that part of her testimony very well (I'm great at multitasking as long as good results aren't required ).

That whole story was so strange - she was the only woman on this gold-panning excursion... camping (?) and she thought they were creepy/scary enough to bring a sidearm? Here's a thought - just don't go!

I somehow doubt any of these individuals will ever come forward to contact NG or anyone else for the obvious reasons. But I missed part of that tangential yarn, so I am making some assumptions about their existence. JA tends to make my skepticism flare up...

Questioning a sociopath is different than questioning a non-sociopath. You have to get under their skin to show their true colors. Basically she has been treated as a hostile witness for her refusal to answer yes or no questions for one. Does anyone have that article on how to cross-examine a sociopath handy to link...since i didn't save it and now i can't find it. :banghead:

Just for the record, my opinion of Martinez was formed exclusively from his performance in this case and what I've read about him from links posted here and related reading. I have never heard of him before and had no personal opinion about his work until I saw him for the first time when I sat through the first day I attended of this trial. As I said, I don't care what anyone else thinks of him or what anyone else thinks of my opinion of him, so I'm not going to respond to details of your post.

I hope you'll add your notes to those of our other trial attendees. They are invaluable, and I so appreciate the first hand accounting.

I have been giving the "Lisa incident" some thought. It's likely she was peeping, saw them (probably kissing), and then proceeded to slash tires.

Peeping Tomasina is what she is.

Exactly. Right out of the gate with a bogus "double standard" argument. EVERYONE knows it's perfectly fine to insult your own family members lol, but no one else had better do it! My kids call each other names daily. But their friends had better not. And their mom?! No way. I couldn't believe Martinez even argued that AT ALL, much less strenuously. :::sigh:::

Jodi has repeatedly stated that she didn't tell anyone about Travis' abuse because she didn't want anyone to think negatively about someone for whom she cared (but she bashed her sister for whom she cared). With those questions (the dumb sister questions), Mr. Martinez proved that Jodi is a liar.......again. He showed a photo of Jodi hugging her sister during this time too.

I can't remember exactly what JA said but did anyone notice how she tried to pull the sex card on Juan and redirect his focus when she brought up how she liked some of the sex out of the blue???

Or did I misunderstand that little comment?
