That doesn't work for me because it makes her foot as big as his entire back.

I still think it's a picture of her back [she's kneeling on the floor] and her arm over his chest [stabbing him?]

But, it's like a Rorshach test lol.

OK, these are off the top of my head without reviewing the actual testimony:
Weak opening
The "dumb sister" comment imo was a poor choice to argue. We all say things in the heat of anger, or when conversing with someone in a conversation we don't expect to be repeated.
The "double standard" between JA and Travis to me was something that was very obvious, and I think it could have been pointed out in a better, shorter way.
The pop rocks - Lord help me. There HAD to be a better way to make that point more succinctly.
Arguing over semantics IN MY OPINION made them sound as if they were two 10 year olds. I realize she was not cooperating, so ask the question a different way.
She stated she did not know what her schedule at work was in Jan. yet he must have asked the questions 15 different ways, and IN MY OPNION it was frustrating to listen to.
Repeating the visit to Beonica? that she testified to on direct gained little if anything, and again, I think he could have summarized it himself, and asked her to deny or affirm.
I don't think he made it clear enough that the pix of she and her sis was important because of the color of her hair. I know he off handedly mentioned it, but I think the color importance would have been easy to miss.
JA would not have had the opportunity IN MY OPINION to mouth off and degrade Juan , if he had phrased the questions differently. I realize the plus side of this was that it made her look bad, but at times, IN MY OPINION, it looked as if she were winning the battle.
As I understand it, JM basically had the opportunity to almost testify FOR her, simply asking her to confirm. I wish rather than asking her so many questions ,he had summed up what point he wanted to convey and simply asked her to confirm or deny.
I know he made some good points, and I know he accomplished some of what he wanted. It just was hard to follow, and many times I wondered where he was going with this.
And my concern if for the JURY - not me, and not an audience.
Listen, I think she is guilty as sin, and that Juan is a wonderful prosecutor - I just don't think IN MY OPINION that this was his best day on record.

I could go through the tape and come up with 20 more things that bugged me, and I have even more information than the jury, so I worry what they're thinking.
I realize he will probably tie it all up on another day. It is this ONE day I am talking about, and I don't want the jury confused on even ONE day.
I have faith it will get better. It is simply MY OPINION he wasn't as effective as I was hoping.

Just for the record, my opinion of Martinez was formed exclusively from his performance in this case and what I've read about him from links posted here and related reading. I have never heard of him before and had no personal opinion about his work until I saw him for the first time when I sat through the first day I attended of this trial. As I said, I don't care what anyone else thinks of him or what anyone else thinks of my opinion of him, so I'm not going to respond to details of your post.

IIRC You've posted several times, and made it perfectly clear: You do not care for Mr. Juan Martinez personally, and you do not respect his lawyering style, technique.

But, your previous post indicates that you have previously observed Mr. Martinez personally; and you have heard of him before this case - prior to this case.
I certainly won't the time go back an read all of your posts - But, if I'm not mistaken - you've made other references to being aware of Mr. Martinez's court-room performances on a personal level.
So, I'm not sure why you would say -
"You've never heard of Mr. Martinez prior to this case."

This is your previous post: BBM
"I have no doubt that it's Juan's "passion." I just think he didn't do a good job at it on Thursday and, from what I've seen and read about him in other cases, I'm not enamored of his style and abilities, in general. And while Montgomery's position is elected, it's a logical next step for a successful prosecutor -- as are any number of other "next steps" that have not been taken by Juan. I can't find his bio anywhere, but he appears to me to be in his early 50's. Phoenix is not a "sexy" venue for an aging prosecutor. And, honestly, I don't give a hoot who disagrees with me and thinks he's "juanderful." It's my opinion and I stand by it. I thought his cross was extremely lame. Fortunately for him, he's got a defendant who's lied on tape multiple times about this exact crime. She'll go down, it's just a question of how hard."

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion -- and I think you've made it very clear; and posters have probably gotten it.

OMG OMG OMG! Admittedly (sp?) I admit I am obsessed with this whole ***** show. I just got home from having a fantastic night. My tv is on HLN. I'm seeing the DT sickness. Now that I've got a taste of JM (whom I love) it makes her testiphony soooooo much worse. It's so weird. Like how soon we forget. I know most of us now are looking at the JM stuff. Go back and take a look at the DF *****. It will freak you out.

You know, it was some crazy story about how running from him down the hall didn't work the last time so she decided to try the closet this time. All I can remember is my eyes rolling back in my head, lol. Really, if he is in hot pursuit, like she says, closing the closet door [if she even has time to do that] is not going to help.

There is a map of her route in and out of the closet which I tried to find for you, but I can't find it now.

She seems to have no sense of time, is all I can say.

Ain't that the truth. She must have said ' he just kept running' a few times.:waitasec: But that makes no sense. There was no place to run. If he just kept running then she would have had ZERO time to grab the gun on the top shelf before he caught up to her.

That particular map does leave out how you'd go from here (Mesa) to Salt Lake City.

Here is a map I made of ja's travels of where it was known she'd gone at that time. (copied from media thread)
I typed Monterey on the map but didn't add a route.

The route she took (according to cell tower location) is in pink.

HTH

Yeah. But I thought her cell phone was dead while in Arizona. I thought 'the battery died' before she left California and she got it working again in Nevada. She called Ryan from Nevada.

Hence, there should be no cell tower pickup in Arizona.

which would make sense, if you were trying to hide your presence in Arizona. Just take the batteries out of the phone.

She pizzes me off. And makes me feel "literally" (and I know what literally means) sick to my stomach. I may not be able to stick with this. It's so upsetting.

The reenactment photo up thread will help. I can't remember who posted it, but it's just a few above this one.

LOL! True re: a Rorschach test.

Megmono posted the reenactment photo.

I KNOW what you mean. I am watching some of her first few days of testimony with Nurmi. It really cracks me up now, to see her quietly, meekly, describe how TA unzipped his pants, and she tried to make it seem like it was something she didn't want. SO PHONY. The jury will never buy any of that 'rape' stuff she tried to sell them. " ohh I was asleep and he entered me w/out asking.' GMAB.

You mean you don't show up at your ex-boyfriend's house at 4am and walk right in the backdoor?

I though everyone did that. [just kidding] :seeya:

It's going to get worse from here on out. So many of the upcoming questions will point out her guilt, and I expect her to lie continually.
Hang in there- she's a gonner, and it will be satisfying to see her convicted so she can no longer destroy lives in the outside world.

Yup, she 'lost' her charger, and her cell was dead. But miraculously, after she came to in the desert, and washed her bloody hands off with Costco water from the trunk, she FOUND her charger under her car seat.

[ Isn't that the FIRST place you look when you lose something in your car?' ]

It was off until she was between Kingman, Arizona and Las Vegas after she'd killed Travis and left Mesa. She was still in Arizona when she turned her phone back on.
It was brought out in testimony by the records guy for Verizon Wireless.

Right. So there shouldn't be any pinging off cell towers in Arizona or she's caught in another lie. She didn't get her bars back until Nevada, conveniently.

OK. I didn't see the Verizon guy. I was just taking it from her testimony. Does Verizon say the phone went down in California?

Kingsman looks to be 200 miles from Mesa.

Where can one see this video you are referring to?

Sorry I'm only now going through all the posts.

Yesterday this video was on youtube as part of the Juantage series but today it appears to not be available anymore. Set on private.

@justice junkie saw your post. im on my phone and dont have enough time type. ut i'll get back to you. what i will say is that u seem frustarted about his back and forth with jodi. that isn't his fault. jodi is purposefully being evasive about questions that should be yes or no. she's even fighting with her own words in her diary and on the phone call. you can see why this takes a minute. jodi isn't trying to lock herself into a definitive yess or no because it will come back to get her in the end. i'll get to the rest later

Without watching the testimony I don't recall exactly what he said about California. IIRC there were no calls after Pasadena. After that (or soon after) there were no more cell pings until it hit the tower Northwest of Kingman around 11:30 p.m. on June 4.

There may be transcripts of the cell phone activity testimony in the media/timeline thread as well.

Another thing that caught me. jodi tries to act like she was covered in blood as she drove away from travis house and then she ended up in the desert and cleaned off with costco water..im calling bs. with the amount of blood in that bathroom she had to clean off before leaving. there were no bloody foot prints on the carpet outside of the bedroom or on the steps. nothing on the doornobs etc. had she went into that car bloody the whole car would be stained. i know the rental guy noted stains but if it was as much stains like leaving the house covered in blood they would've called LE IMMEDIATELY. i still believed she washed up once she realized she cut herself and her blood was on travis. what she didn't remeber was grabing the wall to steady herself while pulling him back to the shower. jodi left tbat house clean not bloody. ready to bump and grind with ryan.
