I think last stamp is 5:29:20 and first unintentional shot of ceiling is within 40 seconds

Odd...if I remember right, it's supposed to be on the "heart" side so it can better monitor heart rate changes. Not that it won't work on the right arm, but accuracy could be off.

Jodi calls Ryan Burns at 1000pm on June 3rd and tells him she is heading to his house. He knew she was going to visit a friend whose baby was just born in LA [she never visited this friend] and from there she was going to come and see Ryan.



JM: Are you familiar with how to get from LA area to Salt Lake City, Utah area?

RB: Yes it's I-15 the whole way


June 3rd she calls him at 9 or 10 at night. She was 12 hours from his house at this point. So he expected her at 12 or 1pm the next day, June 4th, if she stopped to sleep for a couple of hours. He doesn't hear from her all day on June 4th and he is concerned.



Jodi finally calls Ryan around 1030pm on June 4th. She tells him she took the wrong freeway, drove the wrong direction, fell asleep, her phone was dead all day. She told him she bought another charger at a gas station. She told him she didn't know where she was. It took her another 12 hours to get to his house, again, longer than expected. She arrived the next morning, June 5th, around 10 or 11am. It was almost exactly 24 hours after he was originally expecting her.


As we know, instead of going to Ryan's house the night of June 3rd, she headed to Travis house in Arizona, arriving at 4am.

So, why the set up of Ryan to expect her on June 4th?

JM was paying close attention to this testimony from Ryan Burns. I believe it will be part of his argument for premeditation.

i think she ended up staying at TA's much longer than she planned. i think she meant to go, kill him and leave. but being jodi, she wasn't quite done with him and ended up blowing her timeline and spent the whole day with him before she finally did the deed.

I don't think we can make much of his expressions on his face in the shower photos. In his regular photos, he often has a pained or odd look on his face. That's just how he liked to pose.

Yes, why raise the suspicions of your "alibi" if you have reason to believe you won't be there when he expects you?

Maybe to show it was a spur of the moment decision to visit Travis if she's caught, and to confuse the timing issue if she's not?

She could have called Ryan back at any time in those 24 hours to let him know she was going to be late. She did not do that. She left Ryan hanging and worried.


Or, maybe she expected to be in and out of Travis house much quicker than she was?

I am thinking that he is doing this for a basis for potentially prosecuting Matt? He needs just this information on record to bring charges?

Minor!!?? Am I off base her thinking that he is putting into record such to "reign in" Matt or whatever. It was just so very strange listening to this testimony for THE THIRD TIME.........that I caught the differentiation of his question as all on threads have thought that he just asked where he lived. that was NOT what he asked each time!

And of course......then he went right to stopping in Monterrey to visit Matt....... (or as she said..........may have been pacific grove/Monterrey which she went to on June 2nd/3rd) ON THE FLOOR of course (JM suggested she was at apt......she said house that they shared and 3 in same room with her on floor)

Just listened to the testimony about Matt and Darryl on the murder trip. Here's the sequence of events:

1. She spent the night with Matt on June 2

2. Went to Darryl's morning of June 3 for breakfast - Matt did not go with her

3. After Darryl's she went to Salinas (20-30 min away) to get her nails done, but she said it took a long time - she was in Salinas for "a few hours". She testified that she had to go to Salinas anyway to get on the highway. She says the place could have also done hair, but she doesn't remember. Doesn't remember the name. I'm pretty sure Juan knows exactly what place it is.

4. After a few hours in Salina, she went back to Darryl's house to return something - she says she does not remember this, but indicates that Darryl remembers it. Didn't say what she returned to Darryl


Why did she return to Darryl's house? What was she returning?

Yes, you'd think they'd have that. And maybe they do. You'd think given the amount of time spent on establishing that she doesn't remember the exact time frame of the job on the pertinent date, the prosecution would have the time records and would have brought them in at the close of that questioning :::shrug:::

Why did she return to Darryl's house? What was she returning?

To return "something". Some think it was a remote. I don't remember , but DB testified about it on direct.

I think DB plays a bigger role in this than we think. He was so good to testify as much as he could for her, and she still threw him under by saying he was lying about her telling him she was going to AZ.
Hope he turns on her.

Actually that's what she would love. It's part of her mental illness, she would love the drama and attention. It would be a much better option to have her face death because that is the end of her Drama.

Wouldn't DR make her more notorious, though? People would be more interested in interviewing her... wouldn't she have more amenities as well?

I don't think simple incarceration for LWOP or the DP will really phase her much, frankly.

If she were given LWOP, would she be a "special circumstance" requiring specialized housing or security measures so she isn't attacked or...? I don't know how that works...

This case isn't nearly as well-known or has even a fraction of the media coverage that the FICA had, no? That probably doesn't sit too well with JA... not at all.

I don't know... I guess we'll all find out what her fate fairly soon...

Yes. Exactly. This is why she is being charged with the Death Penalty. It's virtually IMPOSSIBLE to subscribe to "self defence" with these facts + her admission that she killed him.

Let's just hope this jury is made up of "normal" people.
