I had always thought in the dragging pic she was taking him back to the bathroom.
Now I understand she was dragging him away - is that correct?

That's throwing me off. Anyone have an explanation?

Nurmi will get to recross and then that will be the end from her. JM will not be asking her anything more.

nurmi does re-direct. i don't know a reason why JM couldn't re-cross if something comes up he needs to ask her. i thought that was how it went. i've seen trials where there was a lot of re-direct and re-cross, unless i'm remembering wrong.

I agree that it is difficult to understand the motives behind all the actions occurring in June 2008.

If the intent was merely to murder TA, then JA had ample opportunity – ie when she arrived, while TA was in bed and naked, while he was shaving etc.
The conventional wisdom is JA wanted to ?clarify TA intentions and/or enjoy another tryst for old time’s sake. But a lot of these reasons are CONDITIONAL. This means the logic operated differently. If TA acted in way A or way B then JA would not have murdered. But TA acted in way C so JA decided to murder TA on the spot.

We know JA had a 25 caliber gun with her; she assiduously tried to avoid detection while traveling in Arizona. So we assume she had full intent to kill TA while in route from Pasadena to Mesa. And if so, the question again poses itself – “Why not off him soon after arrival OR immediately after getting some sleep?”

It does not make any sense for JA to travel to Mesa thinking “ I may or I may not murder TA. It all depends ( ie I convince him to change his mind and take me to Cancun)”

I still think the dominant explanation is an approximation of the truth. This account runs this way:

JA had full intent to murder TA. She had to sleep. She had to prepare for the murder which included insuring a quick get away ie dress , pack,?put the luggage back into the car, bring the weapons of murder to bear, and wait for the appropriate time to kill him.

While sleeping and indulging in sex JA was naked and unprepared to kill. After the sex, JA may have packed, dressed, and got the knife and gun ready in a way unobserved by TA. The photo session in the shower proved to be an ideal way of luring TA into a highly vulnerable position. It is “likely” that JA was vigilant for opportunity to murder at all times after awakening June 5 around 1:30PM

ITA One doesn't steal a gun thinking they *might* use it as Plan B. Prior to that gun being stolen the plan was in place.
--stolen gun
--gas cans
--turning off cell phone
--hair color change
--rental car
--Alibi (Ryan)

She went to great lengths to avoid detection in Arizona. She didn't do it because maybe she'll murder him or maybe she won't depending on his answer to the Mexico trip.

As I understand that was Juan's one and only shot at her.
No re-re-direct, and he can not call her in rebuttal.

BBM - I was thinking about JA's circles of friends since she was in high school . . . people knew her @ school as a very nice girl living in a strict family . .. she moved in with Vampire man . . . . then left him for Wicca/Native American man . . . . then onto Darryl Brewer and Ventana days . . . .. then into the PPL and Mormon groups.

The groups she attempted to "assimilate" into were such opposite ends of the spectrum. . . I don't believe that any one of the groups were associated with the other groups with the exception of JA. I am not sure she ever "assimilated" into any group -

To me, she feels like a pinball . . . bouncing off of one post to another post, scoring (insignificant) points all along but no place to belong on the board.

TA was the only stable man that at one time had a possibility of marrying. He rejected her - she just wasn't the 'Marrying kind of girl'. She left DB because he never wanted to marry again. She had decided DB was no future for her and left him for TA. She became irresponsible with money, spending all money on trips with or to see TA. . . . he became JA's new "drug". . . . . she just can't get enough.

MOO
What real man would want to marry a chick who would perform oral sex on a porch and ask for an ejaculated face? Sane and decent men dont wife women like that.

*Wonders who would make a good wife for Scott Peterson...Jodi or Casey*

Jumping off your post ...

I envision ScottP, CaseyA and JodiA cast in hell in Jean-Paul Sartre's "No Exit":

No Exit (Huis Clos)
By Jean-paul Sartre

It is a depiction of the afterlife in which three deceased characters are punished by being locked into a room together for eternity, and is the source of one of Sartre's most famous and most often misinterpreted quotations, l'enfer, c'est les autres ("Hell is other people"), usually taken to refer to people in general, but in the context of the play it becomes clear that it means that certain other people can be the most effective form of hell.

Plot synopsis

Three damned souls, Garcin, Inès, and Estelle are brought to the same room in hell by a mysterious Valet. They had all expected medieval torture devices to punish them for eternity, but instead find a plain room furnished in the style of the Second French Empire. None of them will admit the reason for their damnation: Garcin says that he was executed for being a pacifist, while Estelle insists that a mistake has been made.

Inès, however, demands that they all stop lying to themselves and confess to their crimes. She refuses to believe that they all ended up in the room by accident and soon realizes that they have been placed together to make each other miserable. Garcin suggests that they try to leave each other alone, but Inès starts to sing about an execution and Estelle wants to find a mirror. Inès tries to seduce Estelle by offering to be her "mirror" and tell her everything she sees, but ends up frightening her instead.

After arguing they decide to confess to their crimes so they know what to expect from each other. Garcin cheated and mistreated his wife; Inès seduced her cousin's wife while living with them; and Estelle had an affair and then killed the resulting child. Despite their revelations they continue to get on each other's nerves. Garcin finally gives in to Estelle's attempts to seduce him, which drives Inès crazy. Garcin begs Estelle to tell him he is not a coward for attempting to flee his country during wartime. While she complies, Inès tells him that Estelle is just agreeing with him so she can be with a man. This causes Garcin to attempt an escape. After trying to open the door repeatedly, it suddenly opens wildly, but he is unable to leave. He says that he will not be saved until Inès has faith in him. She refuses, saying it's obvious he's a coward, and promising to make him miserable forever. Estelle, infuriated by her treatment of Garcin, tries to kill Inès, stabbing her repeatedly. As they are all already dead, this attack does nothing - bemused, Inès even stabs herself. Shocked at the absurdity of his fate, Garcin concludes, "hell is other people" - not torture devices or physical punishment, but the torment of those he can't escape. The play ends with the three joining in prolonged laughter before resigning themselves to spending the rest of eternity together.

I am thinking that Nurmi can only re-direct on issues that Juan spoke of, right? If that's the case, then we won't have to listen about the wooden spoon and the other in between guys, etc.....so maybe he won't take another 3 weeks with her because I will just not be able to deal with it if he does......just sayin.....it needs to move along now.....

If Jodi runs her mouth and opens a door Juan will waltz though it with a smile. Nurmi has this court break to get her to keep her mouth shut unless he wants more information....unfortunately Jodi will do what she wants, and thinks her getting her "story" out and she will slip up.

I'm missed Jodi on the stand late Wednesday afternoon with the knife on the nightstand? It really makes no sense to leave it in the bathroom. You measure it across the bedroom with the bed as your guide.
Then leave it on the dresser or nightstand. It's not far out of the realm of possibility for Jodi to go back and get it after shooting. I mean she went back to the closet for the gun. I wonder when Jodi figured out her tale doesn't fit the forensics?

Yes, Jodi, you remember shooting Travis in the head and you remember where the casing landed, but not anything about other injuries. You are a liar of the nth degree. This monster better not walk!

re: the casing - I was listening to day 2 because I originally missed it and going by Nurmi's questions to Dt. Flores, I wonder if DET is going to claim the casing was kicked onto the blood AFTER the event by the friends who found T. I'm sure JM has it covered but it just struck me that they might go there ...

I thought she was taking him back to the bathroom too. Maybe she was turning him around to make him easier to drag?

Re.but.tal

seriously! Juan either missed it or decided to prove he thought the whole thing was rubbish and felt it irrelevant to pursue. But i would have pointed out that linebackers do not tackle their objects with their faces turned sideways!!!

Also - i'm really disappointed that juan didn't bust her completely on the fact she kept insisting that after she shot him and they're both lying on the floor and he's yelling "f'ing kill you b****h". And she even makes a point to indicate she heard it clearly. -juan missed a golden opportunity at this point.

How does someone utter a full audible phrase with a portion of his brain obliterated and a bullet lodged in his cheek- the same cheek required to form verbal sounds???

well i could say i may or may not have asked for the latter with previous partners but what goes on behind my bedroom door doesn't really effect if someone is going to marry me?

theres a lot more about jodi that would make a guy not want to marry her than that. those type for things aren't really so out there over here where i live.

Without looking back I can't remember, but at the end of Juan on cross, does he ask that DB stay under subpoena?
I'm hoping he calls him in rebuttal - I think there's a lot of information from DB we haven't gotten to yet.
WE know at the very least, he communicated with Arias while she was in jail, he could also clear up the hair color, the remote, possibly something to do with the magazines, - though that is mostly MM, but I won't be surprised if DB has a LOT more to do with LOTS of stuff.

i'm glad to know i wasn't the only person to have that picture turned around. that's what i thought too.

since we now know she was standing on the carpet and his feet are pointing towards the bathroom, i have another idea. his arm's up because he's not quite dead yet and she's not dragging him at all.

  • #376
Is there anywhere where on can look at all of the photos from the camera? Does anyone know?

  • #377
In order for there to be pics of Travis in the shower from waist up, wouldn't the shower door HAVE to be open? He wasn't THAT tall nor would the door have been that short?? :waitasec: ??

You can take pix through the glass...

that casing was stuck in dried blood. it had been there for days so i don't think that explanation would fly.
