Forgive me if this has been asked already, but I've been busy today.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but on direct, didn't JA say she got the gun by using a foot stool which was kept in the closet? If so, why didn't JM catch that on cross when she said she "high jumped" up there?

I think of it like this. There are a couple religions that would be considered the oldest Religions known to man kind. If God made us all, then surely he is not in any one Church practicing :)

I am confident all Travis had to do was believe and he is just fine. He was clearly a good person and it is man alone that talks about the bedroom and what people should do, not God.

I even go a step further and if someone does not believe and they die, they are still fine, they may have an "uh oh" moment. But God is not cruel and humans that make it that way are simply wrong.

Jodi? ok, there are other plans for her I'm afraid.
(and I have friends of many Religious backgrounds and Atheist friends) I guarantee you we are all going to be just fine.

Well, we can't have it both ways. We cannot say we are "all" going to be okay. Because all means all inclusive. God has to decide those things not us.

"Smile and say cheese."

Did she say that to Travis that day? I bet she did, more than once.

Oh God this jury has to get it right. Not only for Travis but for all her potential future victims.

OMG!!!!! You are so right......... no wonder he mentions for her to go to Antartica (and her mention of it also in relation to funeral)..as she is so very COLD and EVIL. Everything she has has a little basis in fact that she spins! Yep, I'm with you and now getting a glimpse moreso into that evil evil sould of hers..........

.that was another FU to him wasn't it.

Prosecution doesn't get recross. Jodi is not their witness.

Goes like this:

Defense witness has direct and prosecution gets cross and then defense gets redirect.

Prosecution witness has direct and defense has cross and prosecution gets redirect.

Prosecution also has a rebuttal case at end and then closing.

How does rebuttal case work?

Hey guys, re-listening to Testimony from Wednesday and Thursday again. A couple things I missed, though I know someone mentioned the first one here.

1. In the phone sex call, Jodi DOES say "I know we're both going to remarry other people". What a freudian slip. She really thought of him as hers.

2. In the 48 hours interview, she says (before telling the ninja story) "I know there's a lot of evidence that places me at Travis' the day he was murdered, or even that week".
Interesting for her to go there---why would she say "that week".

No - she said she used "the seat" when she was previously cleaning the shelves and first saw the gun

ETA: Not good for Arias that 'seat' was still sitting neatly in the middle of the closet in the crime scene photo

But in the first three pics you reference, the glass door is closed - she is on the other side. How can she have stabbed him through the closed glass door by pic #3 on your list?

Also, under your assumption (and Im not refuting you really, your guess is as good as mine, I'm just genuinely stumped here) under your assumption, she at that point has a knife in one hand and a camera in the other - what third arm does she produce to open the shower door?
I think when he sees her, he opens the door to go after the camera, she stabs him, he slouches down in the shower....thinking the shower door is the kind that closes on it's own (not sure what you call that ) she then snaps the pic of him sitting down...after a min, well less than that, he gains strength to get up, stumbles to the sink....prob slouched over the sink, shot to the head....he goes to the ground to crawl away, she stabs him over and over in the back, legs, ankles as he is trying to crawl away, then the throat at the end of the hallway....has my story changed as much as hers???? LOL....I'm trying here...

she may even think the heart stab was enough, and goes to gather evidence in the bedroom and hears him getting out of the shower (using up the almost one min in between photos), goes back in as he is over the sink with the gun??

i'm going to read here, but i really don't feel like i'm up for re-direct. i just can't with nurmi anymore.
and the DV witnesses are only going to make me angry. i know they're going to have to twist their opinions into knots to make it FIT her, and it will just be BS from hired guns. i just can't.

i want to see rebuttal. that's going to bring this case home. can't wait for that! i'm hoping for some surprises that seal the deal.

(already sealed for me.)

Don't you just know the jury feels the same way? :seeya:

Why are my posts disappearing?

I guess I'll ask again... I read somewhere on here that one of TA's sisters did an interview. Is that available anywhere to watch?

  • #490
I'm curious about that also
Could you contact me with the answer if you find out
Thank you

In the shower with Travis' dead body was a plastic cup/glass. We have speculated on here it was used to wash Jodi off of Travis' body. His body was washed after being placed in the shower stall.

The significance is that Jodi said she was in a fog after the gunshot and until she came out of her fog as she was driving in the desert. If she was in a fog she shouldn't remember the glass at all and have no idea what Juan is asking about.

hey kmouse...! Don't you know her fogs are selective?! ()

My personal belief is TA did not see any weapon until just before the ceiling lights picture. But didn't she say the shower door was open for the face shots? I can't tell in any of the pix whether the door is open or not.
I think I heard her say she was a couple of feet from the shower door so that "water wouldn't get on the lens." The last shot has water on either the door or the lens, looks like her placement of herself is incorrect one way or the other.

http://mentalfloss.com/article/12717/what-happens-when-you-get-wind-knocked-out-you

it takes minutes to recover from a diaphragm spasm (getting the wind knocked out of you)

too bad she has to fit this fight of epic proportions into a less-than-two-minute period of time (which includes lots of running, jumping on shelves, loading guns, and stabbing someone over 27 times and dragging them back down a hallway)

I was posting about that yesterday when Juan first read back what Jodi had said about having the wind knocked out of her. If this ever happens to you the one and only thing you are consumed with is trying to get air into your lungs. Until your diaphragm recovers from the spasm your lungs can't expand and take in air. You writhe around on the ground, like a fish out of water. The last thing you do is jump up, sprint down the hallway, leap up on some shelves to grab a gun and run back to another room to shoot someone in the head. Oh yeah the the person shot? He is supposedly sprinting after you EXCEPT he is stronger and angrier and NOT winded.

Sure thing.....

Is Premeditation the only verdict that can get her DP. Or can the degree of violence get her the same verdict. I am trying to figure out if it makes a difference which came first gun shot or stabbings. jmo

I agree with you . . .I don't think TA decided she wasn't the marrying type just based upon the sexual stuff (although I do think it plays a part). TA himself called her a sociopath and he recognized that something is just not right with this girl.

While I do think TA enjoyed the sex, her willingness to do anything he asked, and the ability to live out fantasies - I think JA wouldn't be the marrying type because she would always make sure he knew he wasn't living the doctorine (at least for a time with her.)

IMO TA could have repented for his sins - retained his status within the church/friends/PPL, etc and moved on with a "good Mormon girl" and start over. That would never be possible with JA. . . . she would make sure she kept him trapped in the dirty little secret sex life.

I think even the email she wrote him after she knew he was dead - about his house being her 2nd home, she was going to crash @ his house and eat his food and sleep in his comfy bed . . . .I think that email is yet another dig @ TA. He was trying to hide his sexual relations with her from his friends and roommates. He had been warned by numerous friends/church members/PPL people she was bad news and he should stay away from her. He had a roommate that was tattling on him to JA and to the other girls he was seeing, (Deanna?) that TA was involved with other girls.

This email was yet another way of making sure she was always "known" for being his girlfriend - whether TA wanted people to know that or not. She made sure to write how comfy she was living in his home - even after he was dead! This was not written for him - it was written for his family to have to know she slept in his bed, stayed in his home, was his girlfriend - (the very thing he attempted to keep secret).

She wanted recognition for editing his book, sleeping in his bed, being his girlfriend, sending Iris'es to his Grandma, bringing a picture and writing on it and included it in his memory book! The very people TA did not want to meet JA was his family members. His grandma met her once or twice - that was her only connection to his inner family.

You said that SO well - thank you.
The evilness of Arias will always be so much greater than the mistakes Travis made in his life. He will be forever missed, and his potential is forever gone.
Arias will never even understand this, let alone take responsibility.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but on direct, didn't JA say she got the gun by using a foot stool which was kept in the closet? If so, why didn't JM catch that on cross when she said she "high jumped" up there?

1) she said she used the bench to stand on when she had previously cleaned the shelves

2) due to her ability for making her lie fit the forensics (the bench was not moved in crime scene photos) she claimed she JUMPED up to the shelf to get the gun (all the while he is running running running).. I mean she makes the bathroom sound like it is as big as the vatican!

3) I think the whole gun is a farce.. so he locked her into her lie on cross. He plans to address the gun big time on rebuttal.

I was thinking the same thing, I swear I heard her say somewhere she used the bench. If so, too bad she did not remember, because it would have made a lot more since then how she described "levitating" to the non-existant gun.

And she won't even care. Such a tragedy all around.

On direct I heard her say she got up on a shelf. I'm pretty sure at least. In fact I didn't realize there was a bench in the closet until cross exam.

And has anyone actually stepped up on those shelves to see how much weight they would hold? Those prefab partical board veneer-covered shelves are typically only held in place with pegs that get inserted into holes drilled in the side-boards. And they can dislodge easily. They are not intended to hold that much weight.

If someone weighing 100+ pounds truly did hop up on one, I can imagine the whole board flipping over.

1st degree has to show premeditation (but it only has to be a second of premeditation)

the degree of violence and suffering is the DP
