If anyone wants to see the Vinnie Demos I uploaded 5 segments today and they can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/WSANEWSJUNKIE/videos?flow=grid&view=0
(That is my my channel upload page, as I don't think you guys want all 5 plus the one below here in the forum!) LOL

Here is the HLN segment on the "Stick with it" comment. I recorded it, rewound and turned up the volume and even did the tv zoom so the video lets you hear it several ways.

IMO, that would be relatively easy to establish with an orthopedic hand specialist. It certainly appears she has a tendon injury, such as an untreated laceration, and not sequelae from any kind of fracture.

And with the finger injury coming from the murder, there wouldn't be much left to claim physical abuse.

I think the finger was an important lie. Perhaps JM is saving it for rebuttal case?

But maybe that is just a venture into the weeds, because I'm fairly certain that the Defense DV expert will focus on psychoemotional abuse, and not physical abuse in Jodi's case.

What seems really pertinent to me, as I reflect on the crossX, is that IMO Jodi did not establish that she experienced "I'm afraid of severe bodily harm or imminent death". There wasn't a single other incident she offered up as a priming experience where TA abused her such that she could reasonably be in fear of great bodily harm or death in her dropped camera story.

I expected Nurmi to elicit a lot of "I didn't want to have to kill him" comments from Jodi on direct, along with comments about comments to show remorse and conflict over killing him. And it never happened! I was stunned over that. "I had no choice, I was backed into a corner" etc. "I couldn't calm him down this time" etc. this was the worst justification for self defense I've ever heard! Complete failure of imagination on the defense part.

But for the sake of justice, I rejoice that the DT left such huge holes and doubt about self defense. And I really hope the jury noticed.

But during cross, JM got Jodi to admit that she injured her finger from the murder on June 4, 2008. It was a big win.

You are looking at this through the eyes of a normal person. She is a stalker, deciding days ahead that if she couldn't have his lifestyle, no one would. She took the gun and the knife because she wanted to seduce him then kill him. She knew his habits. Get him relaxed, then in the shower, then as he turns in the shower, stabs him in the heart. He comes out stumbling, coughs up blood in the sink, according to the ME, she continues stabbing him in his back, he makes his way to the hallway losing blood and collapses. She then turns him over slits his throat from ear to ear and drags him back to the shower. Then she puts a bullet in his head for satisfaction. That's all it was. Satisfaction that she could stalk him, slaughter him, shower his dead body and hers, try to clean the crime scene, deletes the photos and puts the camera in the wash with Clorox. The card in the camera survived. She isn't sad he is gone. She is quite proud of her handiwork. She is lying. There was never a struggle for her. Just him struggling to live. He couldn't even fight back. If she isn't found guilty of premeditated murder there will never be any justice.

If this were self defense, whether by stabbing or shooting, once he was down, you or I would run out the door, go to a neighbor, scream for help, get the police. None of that happened.

Travis had no history of stalking. She does. He has no history of pedophilia.

This Post bears repeating. Over and Over. This is what happened in a nutshell IMVHO

Thank You.

I gotta tell you that that almost sounds altered to make it sound that way. listen to the footage in the post that someone posted her. I agree. The one you posted sounds like that. But it is not in the real unaltered footage that is posted by PP.

Dateline
Preview: 'Along Came Jodi'

How did a romance as intense as Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander’s lead to murder? Josh Mankiewicz reports Friday at 8pm/7pm

My Dateline listing says it's Josh Mankiewicz reporting on the Pistorius (sp?) murder... (maybe they're covering both?)

Thanks for the head's up! :)

Well, he isn't a public defender, but he has a right to speak with her outside of the jury.

Whoops...you are right, not a public defender.

After cross-examination, the attorney who originally called the witness may ask additional questions of the witness to clarify something touched on in the cross-examination. This is redirect examination. The judge may allow an opportunity for the opposing attorney to recross examine.

But I understand defense does to get a rebuttal. Only the prosecution does. Am I confused?

the defense gets surrebutal

(they are not allowed to rehashe their entire case..it has to only pertain to the rebuttal)

I can't get this case out of my mind.

Two points I want to make:

1) Many have pointed out in these threads that Tanisha ought to have 5 minutes alone with her. I completely agree. I have no idea how his siblings are sitting through this. God must be giving them strength. There is no way I could sit there. I have one brother who I completely adore. Thinking of someone doing this to him would make me completely nuts and I'd want to kill her!!

2) Can you even imagine having those images in your head? Of brutally murdering someone? Even a sociopath is going to feel something with those images in her head.

She makes me sick. If anyone ever deserved the DP, it is this evil being. :furious:

BC spoke to Jodi last Sunday when she said that she thinks she will get manslaughter.. I bet she has changed her tune since then. :)

  • #1,012
I would think the Judge heard it too, as she had not yet left the bench!

If everyone is talking about the moment when Judge breaks for lunch early, JA is a mess and KN goes up to the witness stand...

KN says, "Just take a minute."

I heard something on TV the other day ... a friend of Jodi said that he and she believe that there will be a mistrial, that another trial will take years and that at most, she will get 5 years. I can't begin to understand what she is thinking ... except that she must expect that all juries are like the Anthony jury. I hope it isn't so.

Don't listen to or believe ANYTHING Jodi supporters say!! Everything out of Jodi's mouth and her cults mouths are lies.

Most of the people who have come out of the woodwork to support Jodi have been either freaks OR people wanting their 10 minutes of fame.

Dead girl walking! She can't be placed on death row soon enough!

I remember the case, I live in Harris County so I followed it closely. During the trial I was laughing at the defense, was like, "someone needs to tell that New York boy that he's in Texas, Texas juries don't play that crap." Needless to say, those were probably the most bitter words I've ever had to eat. (Thanks, Jodi)

I lived in Houston during this period....I was SHOCKED!!

He definitely said "stick with it", but I don't think he meant anything like 'stick to the act'...I think he meant ' stick with it, you can do it, '
I honestly don't think this DT is going to put their careers on the line and risk being disbarred over Jodi. They can do their job and move on.

As much as Nurmi is tough to watch and look at, he didn't choose this case.

IMO, Jodi lost the day she told the jury on direct she could not remember what happened after "the gun went off". It was so anti climatic to 8 or 9 days of endless failed attemps to ruin Travis and depict herself as an abuse victim. Before Juan even began cross her answers and descriptions of events on Direct were allready so unrealistic and illogical. I remember one time when Nurmi was asking her about the abuse and he said, raised voice, iirc "Is that when the BEATINGS began." He sounded ridiculous. On direct, the defense failed to establish a pattern of abuse, they just brought up a few, well rehearsed, episodes of abuse, -the finger,- the "he spun me around." and so on. It was very transparent. They were grabbing at any straw they could, real or imaginery, to justify the murder, and they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to do so. That too, imo, is obvious.

The Jury is going to look at the totality of all the evidence, all the testimony. Juan exposed Jodi and her lying ways, he stripped her of her little vulnerable persona that she tried to convey. The notion that Juan was too agressive, according to so many THs, is silly. His method of crossing Jodi, I believe, was perfect. He was showing the jury that she is not some little fragile girl that needs to be treated with kid gloves or that she is someone deserving of gentle and respectful treatment. Juan wants her on death row, he treated her in a manner that is consistent with how a cold blooded killer should be treated.

Thank you. I only caught parts of Jodi's testimony. Her persona during cross seemed to go from smug and smirky to confrontational to condescending and finally to "I'm a lying little victim".

Sorry, there is this little thing called The Constitution to which I happen to be partial.

Agreed, as bad as she is, she legally is entitled to proper counsel. She cannot represent herself ala Bundy.

This is why we have such amazing prosecutors. We don't just accuse someone and hang them from the gallows like other countries! :twocents:

Especially the part about crossing sites off the list, knowing it was the places to see before you die list.., choked me all up and made me cry!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Whenever I hear JA mention that 'list', I get so peed off. Travis is the one who had that list and the intentions to travel. I think that Travis told her about it and she glommed on to it and claimed it as 'their' list. She even stole that from him! I hate her.
