Was it identified as a pillow case?? I thought it was a towel? :waitasec:

Could be a towel! there were off white towels in the bathroom and white. And chocolate brown bedding. My guess is if she bleached and tossed all in one load (which she did) the brown dye bled on all the towels.

Then, that wouldn't be self defense. It would be an accidental death wouldn't it? Isn't self defense when you shoot them to defend yourself?
She just can't let herself say anything that places blame squarely on her shoulders, thus she always says "and the gun went off" as if the gun would have shot him whether she was in the room or not.

Ding-ding-ding! I think you might be onto something! She emphasized during the trial that she was "monogamous", so her deviant sense of morality prevented her from moving on to sexy-time with other men as long as TA was still drawing breath.

Jodi was unhappy because Travis was the one who wanted the breakup, not her. Jodi was able to leave other relationships. Her problem was that she felt used because she turned him on to sex and while he enjoyed sex with her she was not what he wanted in a wife. This is what she perceived as being treated like a prostitute. It had nothing to do with Travis. It had to do with the way she felt. Her sexual moves no longer worked on him. She may have never experienced that before. jmo

IDK what I believe about the gun. So many here have come up some logical reasons that I just can't do more than say that in my gut it was at the end, after she got him into the shower. The expert testified very little blood pooling in the brain, so he was close to or deceased at the time . My thought, while never having been around a dying person, is that possibly their were noises even after she stabbed him and cut the throat. She mistook that as him still being alive not that he was dying. And shot him to make that happen. All my :twocents: I really don't think we will ever know and honestly my brain is in circles at this point. If it weren't for an earlier posting by a WS regarding the layout of the bathroom/bedroom/closet/hall I would still be scratching my head on it.

Kelly

You brought up a good point. In all these crime shows and movies, many times they refer to a professional hit. The GSW to the head is always the final shot. JA admitted to being "hyper literal". Perhaps that is exactly what she did

OH i forgot the gun went off on its own when the camera was walking into the closet to see the knife that rolled 22' from the backpack to the bench. Crap, all these weapons walking around!

And the dish ran away with the spoon!:rocker::rocker:

I'm not fully versed on the laundry findings, but I think the bedding was found in the dryer. The stuff in the wash were the towel, camera and other Travis clothing. Someone please correct me... :)

It also looks as if the towel could have been soaked in blood. Bleach will sometimes cause blood stains to turn rust colored. She apparently did not use enough bleach to get all the blood out of the towel. jmo

IMO, shetook her socks off and walked through the closet, around the blood on the edge of the carpet and down the stairs.

She had to have showered. Walking in all that water would have wicked to her feet within the socks......ever tried walking out to the mailbox to catch the mailman in your socks during the rain :floorlaugh: :moo:

Because the opposite seems to ring more true. She projects so much onto everybody else too. If it was not so heartbreaking, it would be a fascinating character study.
Agree!! Especially about before arizona

I just think she's so full of herself that she wanted to have an answer for everything (except the knifing) because she thinks she is intelligent!

I guess I am confused. She can't be convicted of felony murder if the gunshot was first? If not, why is that?
Just popping in for a second...

Sequence of events really means nothing anymore. I used to think the defense strategy was going to be to attempt to convince the jury a gunshot was first to dampen the cruel and heinous aggravating factor the State's using to seek the death penalty.

After her testimony it's evident they're just trying to shore up her self-defense claim instead. I was surprised she was charged with felony murder at all but AZ law is fortunately permissive and its the State's ace in the hole if jurors disagree on premeditation.

Here's the info again for donations for Travis' family. Travis' bestfriend, Chris and his wife Sky, set up this account after seeing Travis' siblings leave their own lives to be in AZ to support Travis... The email account for the donations is: [email protected]

You might contact them for the link to the paypal account.

I just want to ask if anyone knows if this paypal account for the family has been verified.

I would love to donate some money to help them attend the trial, but whenever there is any tragedy that gets a lot of media attention, it seems there are always some scammers out there who find a way to get donations.

I just want to make sure this is legit before I would send any money.

I honestly don't think DB has any involment what so ever. The Defense called him, BUT he proved to be a much better witness for the State. e.g. gas cans, REMOTE

I sure hope ou are right. He has a son. And Matt has a family. That would be so sad.

I think the tiles in the bathroom and down the hall are twelve inches each. There is one crime scene photo looking out of the bathroom towards the hall. Doorways are a standard measurements for bathroom doors are usually thirty inches. On the tile leading in to the closet has a good size puddle of blood on it.

After looking at the photo bucket with the gory photos, it has the box inside the linen closet with the wicked up ~2 inches of bloody water. That, taken with photos the two LARGE pools of coagulated blood about a foot or so from each other in front of the linen closet vs. the drips all the way down the hallway (egads, and the clear area w/o blood cuase that is where she dragged him....) ...I am thinking that after his through was slashed, she pulled him back to that area for a while, while he was still bleeding out some. For some reason, she poured lots of water on THAT area, but after the coagulation started in the pools as the pools didn't "smear out/dilute" IYKWIM.

Can't believe I'm typing this......

This is my take on Jodi(sociopath) and Travis (the victim) and how it played out...

A female sociopath is described as:

"She is meticulously turned out, expertly masking her inner personality cracks with flawless make-up, perfect hair and an extensive wardrobe, often paid for by past boyfriends. She may have learned to cover up who she really is by appearing confident and self-assured. Yet underneath this confident and highly manicured exterior may lie an insecure, inadequate and ultra-needy woman.

**note: past boyfriends pay for her boob job, I'm sure other things as well.

"These women want to create the illusion of intimacy quickly and are prepared to take short-cuts. They are full-on and their friendliness positively gushes. They often smile too much, but with their teeth, not their eyes. The woman will say all the right things and appear keen to be seen to make plans with you, but it’s a ploy to gain your affection quickly and hook you in.

** when she met him at conference than leaving boyfriend within a week to be with him.

"She also appears so wonderful, sweet and demure, as if butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. Of course, she is a chameleon, capable of becoming exactly who her victim needs her to be.

** This is how she manipulated him in the beginning appearing to be something she is not i.e. by becoming a Mormon.

"She believes she is entitled to everything she desires. With an overdeveloped sense of self, working for what she wants is an inconvenience. Hard work is for everybody else. She wants the fast buck and the short-cut to success. Becoming a social parasite is quicker than toiling for anything. And when she pulls it off, she can then congratulate herself on cheating, conning or defrauding others who may be more intelligent or successful than she is.

** Travis was successful, except he didn't continue with her plan.

"She will seem very loving and capable of intimacy and will pretend to care. However the intimacy, depth and commitment are illusions. They merely enable her to collect what she wants. Her true colors show only when all other tactics fail.

** She became a Mormon, pretended to care about him And act like a Mormon girl would. When that didn't succeed to fully land him, Her tactic than became to use sex to land him and than unfortunately later to be used against him.

"Creating self-doubt in her victims’ minds is an integral part of her approach. She plays on their reasonableness to give her the benefit of any doubts they may have. She knows that reasonable people don’t like to think badly of others and will often beat themselves up for thinking uncharitable thoughts. She always sounds so convincing. Her approach is intended to make you question whether you were correct in your thoughts about her. It slows you down. It’s meant to.

** Playing on his goodness, knowing he is a good person

"This is a key point. She is probably brilliant at eliciting pity and knows precisely how to do it.

** This is how she stayed in his life even after breaking up with him and moving away. In her mind she thinks I gave him so many chances to comply.

"This woman doesn’t think twice about destroying the reputations, health and well-being or the livelihood of others if they represent obstacles to getting what she wants. She’s the sort who will force you to get down on bended knee to beg forgiveness and then take delight in saying 'No'. She makes you feel bad to ‘keep you on your toes’.

** At this point Travis was on to her as he said in the sociopath message to her! Another haunting fact here is that in her ninja story she talks about him getting on his knees or on all fours... No telling how long she tortured is soul on that day! God love him.

"Such women will not be happy until they have ripped the very heart and soul out of their victim. Even then, there is no guarantee they will be any happier. Sadly, most men ignore what their gut instinct is trying to tell them about her, because they think she wants them."

** This is truly sad he had the gut instinct but he ignored it based on his inability to believe people could do such things. Also, he was a 30 yr old hormone male that fell for her sexual trap..IMO! By the time he realized what was going on the plan was already in place - the premeditation and let's not forget her next victim/alias Ryan Burns.

"She holds grudges too. Her revenge and retribution can be savage and harsh. Surprise is her weapon. Expect the worst, then double it.

** This is why his murder was so brutal... IMO there is no telling how long she tortured him!

** in conclusion, this is the behavior we are seeing after the murder and in trial!

"The consequences of her behavior are always somebody else’s problem, not hers. She is never to blame for anything...Because she’s out to control, she manipulates and punishes at will. She is the witness, the judge, the lawyer, the jury, the executioner - but never the accused... She will break the rules without a second thought, if the end justifies the means.".

Travis never had a chance after she set her sights on him. IMO nothing happened to the other boyfriends because they did not offer her the reputation, the successful life and money that Travis had, she wanted that life!

God rest his soul! My heart breaks for him and his family!
