I have been thinking about this, and I can't help but wonder if an actual DV victim would have record of their abuse in journals too?

Usually you're married/live with the person...you wouldn't want them finding the journal. In this case there was no reason he'd find them.

If you receive injuries from DV, you take a picture..period! Especially, when you are a want-to-be photographer. There aren't any pictures because it didn't happen! JMO

Hi, Missy1974. A good question. From what I have read, many battered women who do keep journals do refer them in entries, often in general terms; e.g., "another blow-up with Bob" or symbols (I assume the same kind of symbols that teenage girls use to keep mention of sexual encounters from prying adult eyes).

LizardQueen made a very apt comment about not making entries if one has an abusive live-in spouse.
