I understand the special preciousness of a baby who is defenseless and needs protection.

But....no disrespect to our sweet Caylee, Travis's murder was more gruesome than my worst nightmares. I cannot even begin to imagine how much he must have suffered. It's just too much.

Absolutly agree. I was mostly responding to someone saying JA was worse than FCA and I don't think another human being can walk the earth who is 'worse' than FCA. On the same level, perhaps, worse, no.

Did Martinez call that object he was laying on when he was so perfectly impersonating Nurmi an "Electro Man"? I was laughing so hard I snorted and didn't catch it completely.

Yes, and today she came out of the box punching. I think something happened when there was a delay. There was a meeting with the lawyers and the judge, and she was pissed. I think she must have been mad at her lawyers too or else she would have attempted to comply with the Polly Purebred schtick.

Betty Broderick won her first trial because she was the tearful Jodi of yesterday [hung jury].

And, she lost her second trial because she was the smirking, combative Jodi of today.

It's hard for the Jury to sympathize with what we are seeing today.

Some Lawyer on IS said he has advice for JM...."it's like potty training a puppy, you got to give them a knockdown to get answers"

You're kidding.....it doesn't take much to potty train the owner. Start out young and give them a crate. When they wake up take them out, after they eat, take them out. Use the mama dog way. I've had some of the best dogs trained that way. I cringe when someone smacks their pets. It's not the dogs fault they were trained that way.

Thanks for the humor...you all are keeping me sane! Seriously this crime is so horrid and just fearing that it could be another pinellas 12 is always in the back of my mind. It truly scares me.

Maybe Jodi is counting on the intelligence of the Pinellas 12 also.

I've followed many cases! And have never seen a judge not do anything! Is she tired or enimic low iron !Please I've never seen anything like this disrespect being allowed. It could be a good thing for the prosecution that the jury is seeing the real inmate arias! Evil side.

I do have a question.....many times in this trial i have seen TA sister roll her eyes and make gestures...i watched CA case and the judge would not let any of that happen in a death penalty case......could the defense be seeing this and waiting to call a mistrial or an appeal in the outcome of this case. Just wondering why the judge isn't seeing this....they even mentioned it on hln at one time..how she was rolling her eyes.

FYI - The married woman was on NG Show before.

PETERSEN: "He was upset about it, but it was just kind of crazy. He would -- she hacked some e-mails between he and I, and I was married and moved on with my life and so they weren`t inappropriate e-mails by any means. We were just two friends that kept in touch after he moved, and, you know, she was very jealous, very jealous of these e-mails that he would -- you know, he and I sent back and forth occasionally."

If these emails were as Ms. Petersen states, I would look into suing Arias for defamation of character and slander.

I have the same concern. I've given up and quit listening at times --- I hope the jury isn't doing the same.

I get that JA is not answering questions and lying but JM (at times) is confusing. For example, the whole library password discussion...JA was correct. A password/log in is not needed at the library however, a password is needed if getting into a password protected site such as hotmail. JM was acting as if he caught her in a lie when JA was being her hyper literal self fighting tooth and nail over every question.

JM started out great but JA led him down a rabbit hole and he followed.

IMO

BBM

when left unattended - the password expires and you have to log back in. i think he was trying to establish that she had been gone long enough that she had to know the password. also that she had to spy on him to see him type it in.

maybe he will summarize these kinds of things in closing remarks? IDK

I don't see how JA could have a problem following JM, unless she's a little slow and has a problem understanding the English language. For sure, much of the time she is purposely being obstinate, combative and clearly stonewalling.

But I do wonder if JM could ask a little simpler more straight forward yes / no questions and if she doesn't answer with only a yes / no, make an objection of "nonresponsive", each and every time.

Question to our verified atty's: is that not allowed or is it not considered a proper approach ? TIA

Nurmi is waiting outside the bathroom. I can confirm that he has dress shoes on today rather than the doc martins.

She is charged with the crime of 1st degree murder.

She has admitted killing TA, but never with committing a crime in so doing.

She has pleaded "Not guilty" to having committed the crime.

Yesterday was the first time I heard her acknowledge that she committed the crime.

Context: JM was questioning JA regarding lying to Detective Flores about having killed Travis Alexander, as she had denied even being in Arizona on June 4, 2008.

Here is the exchange, verbatim:

JM: "Anything having to do with [your] responsibility in this crime was a lie, correct?"

JA: "Yes."

My guess is this is why Jodi is not following that well and/or getting a brain scramble.

She is not focused on Mr Martinez, she is also trying to look for direction from her Attorney's. If you have ever tried to follow someone talking while someone else is trying to direct you secretly, you get totally lost.

She's following pretty closely if she rather than her attorney makes the compound question objection. IMO she is probably angry about whatever happened in the judges chambers this morning. Also, she knows with an affirmative defense, she has a burden of proof. And let's face it, as Juan pointed out, the jury only has the word of a confirmed liar regarding TA's abuse.

I had not even considered that, even though it makes a lot of sense. The DT must know that taking this too far with the brain scramble/memory problems will go over like a lead balloon.
