This is one helluva case for IS to end on.

I'm a little slow getting here, But, as someone who suffers the occasional migraine, this is a bunch of dunky dust. The lights hurt your eyes, normal sounds are way too loud, you just want to lay your head down. You are not craving a peanut butter sandwich, you feel like throwing up. Also, this constant bantering with JM gives him more information to use against her now, and she is smiling and being so arrogant, like she is winning over him. This does not a battered woman make. MOO

I'm catching up and I'm only on page 11 but we really need a WS migraine support group.... lots of sufferers here!

Of course the thread would have to be dimly lit and have some quiet New Age music playing and cool air to make our heads feel better. No demanding members looking for lunch!

It is highly unusual to go through every boyfriend's emails, text messages and phone records. I have never done it. Most women and men I know have said they don't or never have done such a thing.

That said, there is a breed of woman I have met who do this regularly. I call them the drama mamas. They are constantly accusing their significant other of cheating, constantly need to know exactly where the other is at all times, every minute of the day, when their man is even five minutes late it causes all sorts of suspicion and drama, the guy invariably pays for an extended time, whether he has done anything shady or not. Eventually the guy feels like WTH? I am paying for the crime so why not at least enjoy committing it?

These drama mamas of which I speak need to be in control to the nth degree, and they almost invariably create the very thing they are so on the lookout for. A sort of self fulfilling prophecy effect.

It would appear JA has engaged in this sort of relationship dynamic since HS.

Insecure people are jealous snoops. Aside from Stolat, she had a great take on this.

I had to cut off at 1:45 (pst) because I had a meeting to attend and I missed the "explosive" comment she made before they broke for the day.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like the defense made excuses to end the day because JA was losing it and blowing her defense - they need to regroup her and hope she follows the script tomorrow.

But... I have a feeling JM will reel her back in to his web...

WOOOOO.. Nancy Grace just had a fella on re: busting Jodi's claim.... Time stamps on crime scene photos prove jodi's claim is a lie... Drop camera, body slam, run down hall, climb shelves, get gun, go to bathroom, tackle, shoot....... but sweet jodi.... the camera doesn't lie.... look at what's happening in the photos and time stamps!!!!! Ohhhh she's BUSTED BIG TIME!

I wish when Arias was saying she had permission to look at Travis's phone, Juan would have asked her why she hid in the bathroom to look at , and later admitted to Ryan she shouldn't have done it.

  • #487
I do not see him being aggressive enough, he is so petty, it is like watching two females in a catfight. Juan is going down on Jodi's level, heck Jodi is even wearing the pants, probably not a good idea for her. But Juan should stick to major points and not discussing different colors of blue.

I think he is trying to keep her off guard. He is going in circles for a reason. It doesn't give her enough time to think back to the scripted lies. I agree that it is hard to follow, and sometimes he doesn't finish a thought but it gives people(jurors and us watching on TV) time for the fact to sink in. At least not at the time, but when he ties things back together, you see where he was going to begin with and it makes a much deeper impact. At least for me it does. Another thing, I love how he keeps dropping MM's name. Jodi knows it will eventually come out about the forged letters and magazines but does not know when.

  • #488
So Jodie, how is it that Travis comes out of it with 29 stab wounds, slit throat, shot and dead and you come out of it without a scratch?

Because he never saw it coming and I hope the juriors realize that the odds are Travis would of stopped if she had pointed a gun at him.

LMHO! Nancy Grace just flashed a picture of JA and Cousin It side by side! HA HA HA!

  • #490
Ha cousin it.

  • #491
I am really ready for Mr Martinez to go into the actual murder. I'm wondering how he can get her to talk about the stabbing. I just can't let that go. I'm not sure the Jury needs it, but It bothers me she skipped right over it.

That would be one question I'd have for her if I was a juror

I think he is working towards it. Methodically. I am so sick of all the TH's that keep saying he should wrap it up. The longer she is there, the more is exposed.

HUGE difference is right what Jodi was involved in was without doubt one of the biggest sins there is..only second to murder..

There was nothing going on with this innocent woman that this psycho chose to throw under the bus today..we have the word of no one or nothing but a pathological lying psycho claiming there was inappropriate joking emails..

Point being the huge difference is one is a definite big time, very much looked down upon sin and the other is a fabricated lie from a psycho..yep, you're right, HUGE DIFFERENCE!

And to add...

The woman was on JVM and NG and stated on both shows that Travis was just a friend and that the text messages were in no way inappropriate and that Jodi was just jealous and made up this story.

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - A view from the inside: observations from our own court observers

pasa just posted some notes

**I think** (based on what she was saying about this afternoon) that court was not recessed because of the lunch issue..it was something else..

(the lunch came up after the jury was dismissed and after her question if the lawyers had anything else they needed addressed today)

The friend of TA's that JA threw under the bus today saying there were inappropriate emails between she and TA and the other woman was married. Well she's been on HN today and NG and I bet she contacted the pros and they want to call her in rebuttal. They have to tell the court asap when there's something new coming up.

Seems the def contacted this woman a couple of years ago and wanted to paint TA as a wild womanizer and she would NOT go along with it. Yeah, sure, JA didn't want to cause her problems. NOT!

She's a trouble maker.

JMHO
fran

PS...this is starting to remind me of the Brad Cooper murder trial of his wife Nancy. He threw ALL Nancy's friends under the bus. It was a scorched earth in their neighborhood by the end of that trial, all the secrets were out! :(

Someone earlier posted the afternoon youtube.....I was watching the link on friends computer and crashed. cannot locate. Can you repost please.

Also, was just at the part where it is coming into focus about Antarctica. Interesting how the going to each others funeral fell apart....and all was conjured just by her one time asking him to give her eulogy as he was a good public speaker! That was mentioned by her as he would go to hers ......but now........ nope! Also, didn't Travis say in one of his angry last emails something about you need to move to Antarctica or something like that.

I personally thought this was an important lie. Thank you ATL!

http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2...s-alexander-affair-shannon-crabtree-peterson/

“Travis and I were very good friends,” Shannon explained. “I met him through Pre-Paid Legal and through church too, although we were in different wards and we were not dating.”

Shannon told RadarOnline.com that she and Travis became friends while he was living in California and admitted that they had one romantic encounter.

“I was going through a divorce from an alcoholic, an angry alcoholic, and Travis really helped me get through that. We never dated but we kissed one time

Oh, jodi must've hated him being the shining knight to this girl, who was going through hell. I bet that made her livid. She's pretty too.

Why didn't Nurmi pull a candy bar out of his pocket (you know he has candy somewhere) and give it to looooong-suffering, starving JA? Pffffffft!

Yeah Nurmi ... Just toss JA a Toblerone.

I'm sure the courthouse has things set-up so prisoners get their jailhouse bologni sandwiches during lunch recesses.
Are we to believe the Judge, jury, attorneys, everyone - takes a lunch break, but the courthouse -which conducts multiple trials everyday -is not set up to supply prisoners with their jailhouse lunch fare during that time ??

They are replaying the "brain scramble" testimony on HLN and I swear to gosh she tried her hardest not to smile after she said it. It's a faint micro smile but it's there!

Yes, Gypsy, I've seen that narcissistic smile (as she scores yet another point for herself in her Jodi vs. Juan contest which she still thinks she's winning). I saw it big time the day before yesterday, IIRC. She smiled a big one, then immediately lowered her head to hide it. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. I hope she continues to think she winning.

ha ha someone on radaronline commented and called Jodi "HODI"...
that's my new term for her -
"HODI"!! ha ha-hah--!!!

Didn't get to watch today, did JA cop to any stalking or confronting of Shannon? Did she confront TA about Shannon, or do we know?

And on another note, that sheriff in Arizona sounds a little sociopathic himself! Holy moly! Those are some very serious crimes he and his men have commited and I am shocked he has maintained his position.

(Respectfully snipped)

Does that mean that - strictly speaking from the victim's/victim's family's perspective, wouldn't LWOP be a relief? No appeals (except, as you've said before there is a risk of appeal even with the DP to have the sentence reduced to LWP or even less!)

Please understand - I am NOT arguing anything on this, I'm just curious and value your comments for the obvious reasons - and wish you were never given a reason to know so much.

I guess it's probably different in every case - people are different. I can't imagine having to deal with the appeals process and the murderer of one's family member again and again.

Maybe this is a good question for the lawyer's thread: what percentage of LWOP sentences are appealed?

(ETA but in answer to your question, I have heard relatives of murder victims say, yes, LWOP is a relief because appeals aren't automatic and aren't usually covered in the media unless they are successful.)

California, at least, has a Public Defender's Office, Appellate Division, that may take such a case. Or the convict can hire an outside attorney, represent himself, or rely on another inmate who has used his prison time to teach himself the law.

As katiecoolady implied, appeals are not heard in front of juries and there isn't the same push to "humanize" the victim by displaying his/her loved ones. So surviving victims really don't have to attend every appeal, at least as I understand it.
