And if they prefer water-boarding and then stoning?

Beheading on TV?

Burning the convict to death in the public square?

A murder case is not the settling of a private score by those who loved the victim. The best satisfaction they can hope for is the knowledge that the murderer won't be free to murder again.

Hanging, beheading, and firing squad are all fine, as is the electric chair.

Come to think of it, two of the four are what she effectively did to her victim.

Prisoners escape all the time.

Murderers go on to murder in prison.

Capital punishment is appropriate in many cases.

It is not less so in this one.

Here is another article stating that people can't bring food to prisoners because it will be confiscated. It doesn't say anything about this action being a crime.
http://www.corrections.govt.nz/util...ons-regarding-prisons-and-prisoners.html#food

Who provided Websleuth the information stating that Nurmi couldn't throw JA a candy bar because it was a felony?

When did they move the trial to New Zealand? This is from the Department of Corrections in New Zealand....

(Emphasis added.) Damn, some people are easily offended!

Jodi Arias is still presumed not guilty in the eyes of the law. The notion that she should have three moderate meals a day during the most stressful event of her life is not an extreme one. Jeeze!

Her DT is makeing like $500.00 an hour. Maybe they could order her a pizza ?

Someone earlier posted the afternoon youtube.....I was watching the link on friends computer and crashed. cannot locate. Can you repost please.

Also, was just at the part where it is coming into focus about Antarctica. Interesting how the going to each others funeral fell apart....and all was conjured just by her one time asking him to give her eulogy as he was a good public speaker! That was mentioned by her as he would go to hers ......but now........ nope! Also, didn't Travis say in one of his angry last emails something about you need to move to Antarctica or something like that.

Quoting myself as I had to go back and find information about Antartica as it's been bugging me as to the reference. I found below post by zoozoo that I'm pasting here......

"Did anyone else notice her TWO Antarctica references? The first occurred Trial Day 16 at about 3 hrs 15 mins (YouTube posted by eonblue); JA is testifying about a fight that supposedly occurred in 10/07 (oddly, she never describes what started the fight, I assume she was acting towards TA the way she was acting towards JM on Thursday!) and says TA suggested she "move to Antarctica and never call me again." She then describes getting "suicidal."
The second Antarctica reference comes in her testimony re: attending TA's memorial; she gets emotional and says that Travis had supposedly promised he would come to her funeral and give a eulogy "even if it was in Antarctica."
My bet is that after his comment in 10/07 about her moving to Antarctica and not calling him any more, she did the dramatic, desperate thing for the ump-teenth time and threatened suicide if he wouldn't see her anymore, saying something like "How will you feel having to come all the way to Antarctica to my funeral?"
Consistent with her sociopathic mindset, she has twisted this around to mean he cared so much that even if she died in Antarctica he would be at her funeral. Very sick. "

You're talking about Travis' family here. They want the death penalty, which, nowadays is beyond humane. Is it possible you don't? The other examples you provide are laughable in North America. I am not understanding how your words carry more weight than theirs. <modsnip>

It's so much better to be part of the community, isn't it? So sorry about your family friend and the personal loss-- I hate cliches but he really knew so many people who loved him and admired him. I was looking at pictures of him with friends before and got so upset that this man became a victim... one person decided to steal his life from him and take him from everyone who adored him. I have no personal connection to him but I try to give him the dignity of being remembered as a family member, friend, and loving person. I will NEVER let JA and her defense write his story.

eta: my apologies, got a little emotional. Tends to happen a few dozen times a day these days...

Probably as she is using more calories keeping her brain engaged as to what lie to tell next.

JM has definitely gotten to her. Good.

:D

She never mentioned that her brain was scrambled because she hadn't eaten. jmo

I don't care if she gets LWOP or the DP. As long as its one or the other, I feel she earned it.

If the family is hoping for the DP ... So am I

Snipped respectfully by me,

I think it has always been 4:30 AZ time but if it went a little over, so be it. But that was the general time. But, as Nurmi so eloquently put it, 'as long as 4:30 is the drop dead time' (or something to that effect) meaning no later than that (I guess so JA can eat dinner?)

All just IMO, and I may have gotten it wrong, but that's my take on it ;)

Yeah, it's SUCH a good think KN brought up this 4:30pm rule... because they actually went on and on and on yesterday - all the way until 4:37pm!!!!!!! Inexcusable!!!!

I only noticed the exact time because I believe it's the only day since the trial began that they actually went past 4:30 - ever (not counting post trial hearings).

If anything the day ends before 4:30 more often than not.

So, yes. it is a HUGE issue.

:furious:

Also - am I the only one who heard the Judge say this afternoon that MSCO has agreed to provide lunch to the defendant, resolving the matter, so 'case closed', so to speak? I know I'm not making it up... not that I know of. :)

Hopefully the whole event will be at the tail end of today's Youtube video. I could swear I heard the matter was taken care of by the SO and is no longer an issue.

Seriously!!! She is psychotic! Who talks like that like it is no big deal? The first time she said it I was sure I was hearing things. The second time, I was sure and it made me blush a little. I mean, gross!!

Ok...So the word P@NES embarrasses you and makes you shy? Right? Yes, glance to the right then head down, yes it does. And what about J$ZZ? That doesn't? "it does" (monochromatic drone here) What, does? What do you mean? Does the word J$zz embarrass you? I don't know what you mean? Does j$zz embarrass you? Do you mean sexually?

JM let himself be drawn into the chite just a bit too much today imo. I hope he has a reason to be doing this. He should stay out of her games and remain in his world as much as possible. It's an unbelievably hard battle to fight with a sociopath. They have NO norms, no compass, and NOTHING to hold them back because they DO NOT have a compass. They will go where no normal person is willing to go!

Very true! Only posture, and tone seem to scramble her brain.

Thanks. She probably will tomorrow now. :floorlaugh:

She totally gets her rocks off every time he asks her if she has a problem with her memory. He should stop. I have no idea from a legal standpoint why he's doing it but it just keeps getting her into "word salad" mode and that inevitably draws him into her "word salad" chite.

 Gawd.... Now she is gonna say, "You are giving me migraine" , "Your tone and posture... are giving me a migraine"

I'd really like to see her reaction to the possibility that she was also a CHIT/BULLCHIT photographer...I keep waiting for it. Most likely, JM knows that it isn't a trigger for her but I am oh-so-curious about this...

moo

Oh, really terrific point! I've mentioned it once before.

She asserts that the photos in the shower were a formalised photoshoot. I assert that those photos were snaps. They are lousy. If you were going to do a proper job, you would factor in the light, among other things. To me, they are not remotely an attempt at good photography. I would throw that in her face. Ha!

If JA is allowed to live, it is very likely that she will harass Travis' family from her cell. (Remember that she sent his grandma 20 irises and the family an 18 page letter.)

I am not usually for the death penalty, but with evil monsters like Jodi that will continue to harass the family, I think she should die. Jodi must be permanently prevented from continuing to torture them.
