While it may seem like that to you, I don't think she can do much unless the prosecution objects to her being non-responsive. Every time they do, she (the judge) tells her to answer the question.

My criticism of the judge goes beyond the "answer the question" problem, i'm talking about the general control of the courtroom, the giggling, the defense team's clues, the schedule, if you remember Judge Perry, he was not shy and very professional, and that was a death penalty case as well. i loved when he told Mr. Anthony to sit back down, and scolded Baez to stop making him get up and circle the dates on the calendar.

i've seen too where she lowers her eyes and mouths something. i think she is saying a demonic prayer or calling on a demon spirit. she's creepy jmho

I'm waiting for her head to start spinning. SERIOUSLY! I think she has it in her!

If JA is allowed to live, it is very likely that she will harass Travis' family from her cell. (Remember that she sent his grandma 20 irises and the family an 18 page letter.)

I am not usually for the death penalty, but with evil monsters like Jodi that will continue to harass the family, I think she should die. Jodi must be permanently prevented from continuing to torture them.

Recently some TH was babbling on about the potential of her getting something less than LWOP-- I had flashes of her being up for parole in however many years... doesn't matter when. If she is ever given that opportunity, I don't care if it's in 40 years and she's 71, in a wheelchair, and crippled-- she should NEVER be let free into society again. For society's protection, for punishment, for justice, for Travis' family's safety.

I can see her manipulating a parole board successfully if she gets the chance. That cannot happen. The jury can't give her that opportunity. I can also see her manipulating other prisoners and/or prison staff and getting violent with someone there. DP is really most appropriate for her.

This question was directed to minor4th, who probably already responded, but I just wanted to clarify after my comment that I completely think this was a ploy by Nurmi to stop the bleeding, so to speak.

BUT but but but I also think the Sheriff's Office is being stupid and creating issues where there should be none.

YES, YES, YES....Sheriff's Office stop being so stoopid and serve her a friggin' lunch please! Are they looking for funding, money, human resources? Please just give them what they need to procure a friggin' lunch! SPAM on a sandwich would do just fine!

Don't be surprised to learn she lied. They hand her a sack everyday and she tosses it! Was hoping someone would pick her up a Cinnabon and a Starbucks!

I think I can safely say I will never be surprised to learn that JA lied.

Honestly folks, I'm getting very very worried. I am really afraid that the jury's going to be sympathetic and let her off. I know this is heresy but I don't think that the prosecution is laying out a logical case - he's all over the place, and he lets his disgust for her show too much. I hope to god I'm wrong.

I have the same feelings. Trying to keep the faith that justice will be served.

I just watched the intuitive by profession friend of Travis's on Drew...

Wow... She sucks as an intuitive! Seems like she and Drew are on the same page....

All IMO

Here is another article stating that people can't bring food to prisoners because it will be confiscated. It doesn't say anything about this action being a crime.
http://www.corrections.govt.nz/util...ons-regarding-prisons-and-prisoners.html#food

Who provided Websleuth the information stating that Nurmi couldn't throw JA a candy bar because it was a felony?

I didn't provide it but have to say I read it while looking up Sheriff Joe today again. It was on Wiki iirc.

Are there any theories as to why the DT pulled Jodie off the stand this afternoon? [I mean other than the alleged headache, of course]

Random thought about JA today. She's reminding me of the aliens in the Ender's Game series. Ender and his team could never use the same attack twice because the aliens would learn and adapt to it.

She creeps me out.

Ok...So the word P@NES embarrasses you and makes you shy? Right? Yes, glance to the right then head down, yes it does. And what about J$ZZ? That doesn't? "it does" (monochromatic drone here) What, does? What do you mean? Does the word J$zz embarrass you? I don't know what you mean? Does j$zz embarrass you? Do you mean sexually?

JM let himself be drawn into the chite just a bit too much today imo. I hope he has a reason to be doing this. He should stay out of her games and remain in his world as much as possible. It's an unbelievably hard battle to fight with a sociopath. They have NO norms, no compass, and NOTHING to hold them back because they DO NOT have a compass. They will go where no normal person is willing to go!

She plays the game with him and probably does not know that she has this evil smirk on her face. The jury can see it. It's deliberate on her part so they will look at her. She likes to play the part of being a ditsy (blond) girl. It gets her attention. She has no clue that when she does this everyone can see what she is doing and I'm guessing this is why none of Travis' friends liked her. JM always, always makes his point in the end, like today about her lying to Det. Flores with no problem on her part. Flores was laid back and she had no problem with him scrambling her brain but still she lied.

I bet today every member of that jury thought at least once that it was a wonder that Travis didn't kill her. I can see even an easy going person losing their cool with her. jmo

I must have missed something since I am just coming in for a short time. Why can't her DT give her something to eat? What about something sealed like a can of tuna with a pull off lid and then she gives up the pull off lid or a pouch of tuna? How about a piece of fruit? Bread? I don't get it.

That has always been a pet peeve of mine, too. I have had these things since onset of puberty (153 years ago, :floorlaugh:) and they are just the worst. The aura, numbness, tingling, nausea and then WHAM the excruciating pain.

And when I hear people with a tension or sinus headache say they have a migraine. :what:........it cheeses me off.

That said, I have had a migraine that was triggered by not eating. Also from too much caffeine, red wine, stress, or the luteal phase of my cycle!

There are many triggers.

I think Jodi is full of crap, though.
My triggers are cold weather/changes in barometric pressure, hormones, MSG, and not enough carbs. Caffeine and Excedrin are what help me, but if I don't eat soon enough, I have to barf or I don't get relief. I can't tolerate any sound or light when I have a migraine.

She was caught stealing pens IIRC

LOL. This gives new meaning to JM's dig about "where you live, they don't allow pens, right?" :floorlaugh:

Would it be a felony for Nurmi to give Jodi a food item? If this is so, please explain why. tia

All I know is that our verified AZ attorney AZLawyer stated it is a second degree felony in maricopa county to give food out to someone in jail/prison unless it is done by a sheriff or deputy. I don't know if it's the same way for the whole state or not...it sounds like something only Arpaio would dream up.

And if they prefer water-boarding and then stoning?

Beheading on TV?

Burning the convict to death in the public square?

A murder case is not the settling of a private score by those who loved the victim. The best satisfaction they can hope for is the knowledge that the murderer won't be free to murder again.

I'd prefer to let them tell me what is the best satisfaction they think they can hope for.

I keep vacillating on JA's signature song.

Leaning this way now:
