Anyone else notice "Jake" who's JA's friend who appeared via phone on NG show? Apparently he's been writing her for some time and thinks she's innocent because of "some form of self defense" . Sounds like he knows very little about the details. But he's somehow managing to justify the wounds in the back. NG just said "you know Jake, you're an intelligent person". lol

OMG the way NG is responding to him saying "ok the overkill category again". Then goes to the caller.

Then later in the show he proceeds to tell a scenario where he outs his own self quoting her saying "Oh John I'm so embarrassed" and he claims he was the creator of the hair curtain.

I believe Jodi is very intelligent and has been waiting for this for over 4 years.

Juan is making me laugh because he is getting rattled and she is so passive-agressive.

This cat and mouse game she plays with Juans questions is driving me crazy. I hope the jury is as pizzed as I am about it. She is obviously avoiding trying to answer even simple stuff.

Just out of curiousity, have you independently confirmed the dog has gas, or are you going on the testimony of your husband?

It's the dog. We have separate bedrooms because he snores and has weird work hours. We have "conjugal visits@

I don't think Jodi knows it, she doesn't seem to know the proper terms for many of her favorite past times.

I'd like to hear her pronounce cunnilingus and fellatio.. if it is any bit as wrong as her pronunciation of 'chasm', could be pretty funny.
:Banane23: ... ON topic, this smilie is called "banana hula", I do not see a banana hula?

Well, no. I didn't say that. Some AZ defense attorney said that in an article that someone here linked.

It would probably be a contraband violation, though, which is a felony. And in any event, the guard standing over her would never ever allow it. The Sheriff's Office has the right to take security precautions like this, whether or not the provision of outside food to an inmate would be "illegal."

That makes sense! Now I am tracking. We have laws in our state forbidding giving inmates contraband too and the prison determines what is contraband and under what conditions. I am just surprised that the Sheriff's department is taking so far that a DT can't have a meal sent up for their client from the courthouse cafeteria.

Don't forget: This is a woman who fired her DT and wanted to represent herself. On that stand, she is acting not just like a witness, but as her own attorney. Jodi Arias wants to prove to the world just how smart she is. She uses legal terms like "compound question" and banters back and forth about word meanings and definitions because she wants to PROVE she's smarter than Juan Martinez. Her arrogance demands it. He is the only male who has ever challenged her and not been taken in by her antics.

Jodi is a high school dropout. (No knock against that. My dad dropped out in 11th grade, joined the Navy and is STILL the smartest man I know.) Jodi wants to be seen as educated, sophisticated and intelligent. She helped Travis with editing/typing his book. She wanted CREDIT, not just because of the other woman who received accolades from him. She NEEDED that validation that she was his intellectual equal.

Today, when Juan Martinez began having the court reporter read back the questions, her demeanor changed. Her shoulders slumped. Her jaw set. He wasn't playing ball anymore. And having her read to like a child wasn't serving it's purpose. She QUICKLY began to understand the questions better.

It's not fun when you have to start playing catch all by yourself. He did what he needed to do to show her as an aggressive, combative woman who would stand her ground against him - a man she COMPARED to Travis Alexander. Juan Martinez knows EXACTLY what he is doing. :twocents:

ITA...awesome post

You should be a commentator for HLN or InSession, especially because you are local.

I can't. After the CA case, I swore off all TV appearances except when and if strictly required in the course of the representation of a client. :)

Besides, I recently learned that the "talking head" lawyers are given scripts and told what positions to take and what pretend arguments to have. I have too much self-respect for that garbage.

I've been watching the THs. Got to say I somewhat agree.

my take..... JM has made his point, but the constant battering of Jodi will only humanize her and give the impression she is emotionally battered. the jury will not remember the 9 days of her blathering lying on direct. They will be mostly affected by the Prosecution because that's the last thing they see/hear. JM needs to get Jodi to the crime now.

The jury does not have the benefit of the net and incessant 'news' of this. At least they shouldn't. I have faith in the jury system. They can only conclude on the trial.

I believe Jodi is guilty of planning and carrying out this crime.

O/T I'm in North Florida, but my mom and dad, aunts, uncles, cousins all live in S. N.J. (from Mt. Laurel, Cherry Hill, all the way to Cape May and The Villas) I love it up there. It's beautiful if you ask me! I never understand why NJ gets such a bad wrap, but then again - I've not been to Newark.

I've been hanging on your posts all day today but I have to say this is my favorite I've read all day.

Thank you, thank you!

I love that graphic. Is it from a movie? One of these weekends I'm going to curl up in bed and watch nothing but TCM. As removed as I am from this trial, I'm moved and invested forever. I have to remind myself to be gentle and kind to myself. I know you take time away and I hope you treat yourself with TLC. When I'm lost enjoying the black&white movie marathons I will think of you and the Alexander family and other warriors, sending you warmth and happiness.

She's not even a little intelligent. Look where she is and why she's there.

"Jake", a friend and supporter of Jodi Arias, is talking to Nancy Grace right now. He writes to her in jail. He fully believes that she acted in self defense. He explains the stabs to the back, slitting of the throat and then shooting him as just "over kill".

It is truly amazing to me how this woman can con and manipulate men to believe her and I hope to God that the men on the jury have the intelligence to see past her lies and the little, poor me act.

I don't know if you caught it when he said his name was actually John. Unless I heard it wrong. Now, who is John...pretending to be "Jake"?

I agree completely that the lunch issue was a delaying tactic to give JA a chance to prepare a new lie for something the prosecutor is going to bring up. However, is it really worth saving the cost of a bite to eat if it would just end this mess a little earlier?

Come on Sheriff Joe, give the evil one a couple crackers. You can take it out of her future meals. Hell, if it will stop these delaying tactics buy her a loaf of bread and some peanut butter. You can send me the bill – on one condition – she has to stop delaying and finish on the stand before the food is gone.

But wouldn't it be a treat if JM could get away with opening up his cross in the morning with a soft, soothing voice and say the following: "Good Morning Miss Arias. I trust you had a relaxing night's sleep and a nice, well rounded breakfast this morning. Since we've been trying to address your inability to answer the Prosecutor's questions and reference your scrambled brains, let's try to make you more comfortable. Are you comfortable? Is your chair comfortable? Can I get you a pillow to sit on? Can i offer you a sweater? Is it too bright in here? I can have the lights dimmed so there's no glare on your fake glasses. If your stomach growls just let me know and I'll give you my Snickers bar. Is there anything else I can do for you? No? Well, okay then, let's proceed...... DID YOU ENJOY STABBING, SLASHING, AND SHOOTING TA? WHERE'S THE MEMORY CARD FROM YOUR CAMERA OF ALL THE GHOULISH PICTURES YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN FOR YOURSELF AFTER DRAGGING HIS BODY BACK INTO THE BATHROOM AND PUTTING A BULLET IN HIS HEAD? C'MON YOUR SO SICK I KNOW YOU MUST'VE TOOK MORE PICTURES FOR A SCRAPBOOK."

I know, I know.... Objection, Leading, Argumentative, Badgering, Misrepresenting Testimony, Blah, blah, blah. But it would be worth the contempt charge if it wouldn't cause a mistrial.

Okay, I listened and get your connection.

Now, give a listen to Jim Morrison and the Doors with "Riders On The Storm", especially the "There's A Killer On The Road" verse.

Think about that tragic road trip which would end the life of Travis Alexander.

Her brain was indeed squirmin' like toad.

Is someone working on the playlist? We need to add "You Oughta Know," obviously.

ETA: It would be fun to have a playlist, actually. :)

IMO, he's Lithium deficient. (manic)

I didn't know that! I mean...I KNOW you have integrity and self-respect, but not the other stuff! I didn't know they are given a script! That's actually good to know because sometimes I'm left scratching my heads thinking no way could an educated lawyer really believe what he or she is spouting on t.v.! It's sad that some people are willing to sacrifice their integrity and reputation just to be on t.v.

I'm thinking of Janie Weintraugh (spelling?) I always wonder about her!

Well not the really hyperverbal one who did his rundown of the crime or her version of it. It was more "Jake" who's been writing JA for 4 years. Obviously under a pseudonym then on air outs himself as "John".
