I'm going from memory, so this is not verbatim. But OMG - the whole "You're the best" text.

JM: You said he's the best. Travis Alexander was the best, wasn't he?
She says "best at what"
JM: "I don't know you wrote it"
JA: "I don't understand your question".
JM: "you said he was the best didnt' you?"
JA: "it made him feel better".
JM: "So you lied to him"
JA: "no not necessarily"
JM: "Maam - did you write that Travis Alexander was the best?"
JA: "Yes, but only to make him feel better - he liked that".

And you wonder why I needed to take a Xanax yesterday.

Mel

Exactly :banghead: She literally gave me a headache!!!!!! I sure hope Juan puts it to her today..........before we all got nuts :seeya:

:worms:It is excruciating to watch Juan going over everything again and again, and ask "Right?" at the end of every statement he makes. Yes, I agree, it is terrible that Jodi Arias killed Travis. We know this. Is there good and bad in every person? It doesn't seem so. It seems to me that there are truly some individuals who are so self-serving that there is no redemption. It also seems to me that this defendant is a true pro at self-preservation. I am more interested in what has made her this way....I realize my view will be unpopular, but someone like me may be sitting on that jury, and under this excruciating testimony, personally, I want it to stop. If you have ever been in the box, being hammered by an attorney, you feel a spot of something akin to "PLEASE MAKE THIS STOP!" She's guilty, we know it....let's end it. I think it is somehow merciful for murderers to take their own lives when all is said and done, because it spares us this agony. I understand the need for interrogation, but it's not fun, I don't see how anyone can think she is enjoying this endless recitation. I am afraid that the more Juan goes on and on, asking about each individual statement, he is illiciting the sympathy of a juror. In fact, as this continues, it appears that she grows stronger in the stand, she is NOT breaking under the pressure....(but I am.)
Anybody out there understand me? :worms:

What JM is going is making a statement, then turning it into a question by saying "Right?" at the end.

And YES she is growing stronger on the stand. Not much of a victim, is she?

I think you are a nice, normal, tender-hearted person. Jodi is not. Martinez can't treat her like he would treat you.

I hear you, but this is not about you. It's about convicting her. I am tired of it, too. But I guess he feels he needs to refute whatever he's refuting to make sure he fully meets his obligation to convict her, for which he has one chance. The fact that she does not break is very significant. If she doesn't break under cross examination by the prosecutor, why would she break under uncorroborated pressure from TA?

I hope no one on the jury is becoming more sympathetic. She is wasting their valuable time when she plays her word games. She is the one being disrespectful toward their time and attention.

Also, on the practical side, if Jodi didn't know the difference between fantasy and reality, her defense team would have brought that in waaaaaay before trial. Seriously. There's no way this would even be a death penalty case if Jodi truly didn't know fantasy from reality.

IMO, any attempt to explain Jodi's behaviour as her inability to distinguish fantasy from reality is grasping at straws. And I do understand, because none of us want to believe there are people among us like Jodi - but there are. Prisons are filled with them.

Just IMO

Respectfully snipped ...

If TA liked little boys, don't you think this issue would have surfaced with one of his other girlfriends along the way ? I wonder if Arias knows what's coming in rebuttal ...

Thats is so strange. Never once has anyone said that Travis even liked to hang around boys. All of his friends were adults.

IMO

I really like JM but I really hope he does not continue rehashing old news....she is a liar, she liked ANAL sex, he was not her first, she loves Cinnabons, she is a liar, she is a wicked, she is a liar, she is evil, she is a liar....we got it, the jury has it too. Now , I want to get to the meat of the trial her cold blooded, premeditated murder of a wonderful young man. I am ready to hear guilty of 1st degree murder with penalty of death!!!

This is my very first post as a new WSer. So this may have been discussed days ago...my apologies.
I heard a TH (criminal defense attny) proclaim on HLN or IS that "Jodi is NOT on trial for lying!" Not surprising from a def attny, but he must be worried that JM is impeaching her every lie. One after another!

:floorlaugh:

Didn't it just fall right off her lips with such fluidity?

(seriously I wrote that sentence innocently not intending any pun situation)

She even spewed the verb form.

But what can we expect from this chaste LDS-er who had documented her request for "a generous facial"?

At this point it seems to be ego driven pay back for a little man. Time to move on.

Even if JA had said 'yes, I murdered Travis in cold blood and deserve the DP', she still would have had officially plea 'not guilty'; found guilty by a jury of her 'peers' to be sentenced to execution.

There are some here who have basically called me stupid and implied other things about my IQ, but even though I'm not an attorney, I know what I'm talking about here from personal experience.

After the execution, the loss of my murdered loved one was still no less painful. There was no 'closure'. The only ones I could see affected were the Family and loved ones of the criminal.

I firmly believe if Jodi is EVER released from prison, she will kill again.

I do understand a bit. It seems she learned how to manipulate so young and to understand the powers of sexual maniuplation so deeply. She may have been sexually molested at such a very young age to have made herself into the monster she is "total self preservation". Maybe as young as 6 years old.....there had to be signs; her parents may have been either to poor or to naive to get her the best of help during those formative years. Or it may be something as simple as a genetic disturbance. I don't know but I do think the jury is ready to hear the murder moments from the State side and have her arrogance show through loud and clear. Sad :(

Nor to be with her while she was being interrogated for hours.

I guess she was under her friend Gus Searcy's tutellage on that. He can't seem to find a lawyer either.

Which reminds me of something. We know that TA was financially successful doing this PPL scam. (Sorry, but it's a pyramid scheme, not different from any other). The Defendant has made statements to the effect that Travis slept past noon, etc. Continuing to make $$ at PPL requires work. During normal work hours, and probably beyond. That whole part of her testilying bothers me.

lmao that's so funny. Now this <mod snip> has tainted Cinnabons for me too! :furious:

I hope you are feeling better! You are an amazing woman, I'm in awe :hugs:

JM's "trying" to get the pic of her pre-boob job into evidence was masterful.

He got her to say that DB had taken it. (Previous nude pics with other men.)
He got her to ask him what this had to do with things. (She's rude and snarky again.)
He asked if her if it wasn't a sexual photograph? (We will never know but it might be.)
She then said that it was a pre-op photo and a medical photo.

(Which once again showed the jury that she's a LIAR. DB took a "medical" photo of her?)

And, the evidence didn't even get in!

: )

ETA - It also reminded the jurors that she's had a boob job and BEST OF ALL, it really made her uncomfortable knowing that the picture might be shown.

What?

You don't mean to say that PPL/Legal Shield isn't providing counsel to JA.

Jennifer Wilmott and Kirk Nurmi are state-appointed counsel?

Say it ain't so.

This can't be good for PPL/Legal Shield, can it?

What I bolded...and the fact that she's been back talking, smirking and giggling shows to me that she's enjoying every last minute of it. The way she lights up when talking about all the sexual activity with Travis. All eyes are on her and she's loving it. She thinks she's smarter than everyone and she's got the chance to let her ego shine.

:rocker: and every single time she does back talk, she loses more credibility with the jury as an easily manipulated, love sick, victim.

Go Juan!

Since someone brought up the journals...what I think is most damning is that she doesn't even refer to events in vague terms. Even something understated like a "disagreement" for the fights or "a very strange incident when I unexpectedly returned to Travis' House". The Secret is such a lame excuse...the mystery email to Travis' girlfriend shows that. I take it that the email couldn't be linked to her?

The Secret...that book is a bunch of crap! Sorry to anyone that likes that book. Seriously, it tells you not to look at fat people so you won't get fat and by thinking happy thoughts, nothing bad will ever happen to you.

I sure hope JA gets plenty of nurishments today so she can finish.

Also hopefully she got some coaching on answering YES or NO!

I know she thinks she is winning but IMO she looks very bad.

The jury is becoming more sympathetic ? After 6-7 days of her blathering on direct about how she "felt", I hope JM leaves no stone unturned. If I was on the jury, I would listening for contradictions in her story, not playing "Words with Friends" as she appears to be doing.
