@WildAboutTrial: Nurmi and Willmott have entered the courtroom. Nurms in a dark suit jacket, freshly buzzed head and a blood red tie. #JodiArias

From twitter Court almost ready to start

Hmmm a red tie for throat-slitting testimony day? Not the choice I would have made.

why can't the judge rule on an objection without a sidebar?

Because if you're talking about whether or not the jury should be allowed to hear something, there's not much point in talking about it within the jury's hearing. ;)

No disrespect to emus intended but they taste awful. Not even Hellimans, mustard, ketsup, etc. would help. I had a little taste at the Eastern States in Mass. years ago when they were giving out samples. They make better pets. Forgive me Dan. It was a slip and I'll never do it again.
So much for the emu sausage and emu meatball recipes I posted. I took an anvil for those recipes! Twice! :floorlaugh:

But, remember the jurors said they did NOT like KC and and they thought she did something to Caylee but they didn't know WHAT, HOW, or WHY.

Big difference.

I have always found the CA jurors to be suspect, especially the one guy that couldn't wait to cash in doing interviews. He was asking for some crazy amount like $50K. No one took him up on it.

Wishful thinking on my part that if the jury won't look at Jodi, this means they are leaning towards guilty. During the KC trial, I remember talking heads saying the jury didn't really look at KC. But after mere hours of deliberation, they walked her right out of there!

I haven't totally lost my faith in juries, but I will never again believe their facial expressions, looking at the defendant or lack of, means a darn thing.

IMO

Yes! I'm not going to pay any attention to that anymore.

I'm looking up the fastest jury verdicts to calm my nerves! I hope the jury in this case sets a new record!

“Mistakes” JA admitted to this morning:

- left a drawing at TA’s “by mistake” that really upset TA
- her computer failed after she worked on wedding photos and before she could work on TA’s dog photo
- sent a text to TA “by mistake” instead of to SteveC
- Sam, Steve, Abe, [Dick and Harry]

Weather must be outstanding and hot in Phoenix. Jean and beth are sleeveless. Looks like not a cloud in the sky.

IMO, I do not think TA was wise to the ways of women. For argument's sake, let's assume he was not sexually active until his late 20's. Most guys are into sexual relationships way before then. Because of his lack of experience, he has the maturity of let's say an older teen when it comes to this. IMO, JA fed into all of this in a big way and knew exactly how to manipulate him without his "getting it". She used sex as a ploy and made it seem like she would do anything to keep him hooked. I don't think for one second she "forgot" the print, just like she didn't "forget" her belongings she kept there and asked Flores about. I don't mean to sound sexist, but I know the women on here can see through this ruse immediately. Just sayin

BBM

No neither one deserved to die for making human mistakes BUT imo she DOES DESERVE DEATH for what she did to Travis and I hope she gets it.

Murdering Travis in cold blood was NOT a mistake. It was a plan.

imo

haha, I noticed that after I posted. I should've clarified that neither (JA nor TA) deserved to die for their mistakes in this dysfunctional relationship BEFORE TA was slaughtered 3 times over. That is what I meant.

I agree that this was planned by her, just like her leaving that drawing, just like her sending him those "mistaken" text messages, just like her story of the woman at Ruby Tuesday.

She WAS in a fog, IMO. A fog of intense obsession and manipulation. And when her target was finding the legs to walk away, she savagely killed him. Again, IMO. I've seen no evidence otherwise, and much evidence to support MOO, though. But I suppose that's also MOO, hahaha.

I don't know why but it annoys me when she's constantly adjusting those ugly glasses on her head.

ME TOO!!!!!

I think it's just insulting that she thinks we're stupid enough not to see through the fake costume act. I've worn glasses for years an they're like an ear or an eyebrow by now and I hardly remember they're on my head. The only time I fidgeted that much with them was the first 5 hours that I wore them for the first time in my life. She obviously has enough credits in her account for nice clothes to wear so she certainly can afford contacts IF she even had a vision impairment and is THAT bothered by glasses. Frankly I think she has 20/20 and is faking the whole thing for appearance sake.

I am so tired of listening to ho-hum, boyfriend-girlfriend texts, arguing, game playing.

Two things seem indisputable to me.

1. Travis was onto her and was furious about it (what I would call a normal response to he'd been subjected). Who wouldn't be angry??

2. JA is a seriously, dangerously obsessed, childish, selfish, jealous, vandalizing, stealing, document forging, disturbing email/cell sneak/snoop, violent creep who takes no responsibility (texts misdirected. Sorry. No) who played sick games and manipulated things/people to:

- get what she wanted,
- be the center of attention,
- teach someone a 'lesson',
- make someone jealous,
- ruin others' relationships,
- get revenge and really hurt people if she felt slighted or neglected.
- make it appear as though she was always and only the one put-upon, victimized, etc.
- pretend to be a little soft-spoken waif. :puke:
IME, people are mere playthings to them. Puppets, if you will, and they constantly push the boundaries of control and manipulation.

and plays it off by claiming she's 'ditzy'

the guest TH just said the same thing I've been saying all along. This trial is not about guilt/not. It's about the degree of guilt she will be found guilty of. Will Jodi get life or death?

Jodi is GUILTY of murdering Travis. That's a given.

That is the reality. (I hope).

But technically, if she successfully proves self defense, she would be found not guilty of murder and could walk.

I want to repeat that because I have seen a lot of confusion about that.

just me: but I am going to wait to hear Travis' side of the story before I make any opinion on that.

just my take however:twocents:

He was taking advantage of her (they both were taking advantage of each other, IMO) because he clearly knew where he stood with her but he did not deserve to be killed because of it.

He was not perfect at all. JMO

Anyways, I hope Jodi gets the DP.

The point I keep trying to make, and so obviously failing at, is that being in a relationship with a psychopath brings out a darker part of who you are. You do things you would never consider yourself capable of. It's part of the process. Where on superficial levels it would appear as addiction or desire, an insidious process of manipulation, gaslighting, crazy-making, and brainwashing is occurring. It doesn't necessarily mean you don't *want* to but rather the reasons you would want to are often sullied in my opinion.

Jodi would've fed off of bringing out Travis' darker side - or on a more basic level - being more powerful and potent than his own faith in her mind. As such she would have specifically and strategically manufactured and engineered events, manipulated and coerced him, to provide situations to feed her. Any embarrassment, shame, or debasement of Travis' morals really would have been icing on her psychopathic cupcake.

Very good post on this topic. Travis never said any such things to other people and treated the other women he dated well. It would sure to be nice to have an expert testify to this. Jodi was a master manipulator and knew what pushed Travis' buttons and she did everything to do so. Any attention from him was welcome attention. She would cast out the bait and if he took it then she even loved the arguements with him. She couldn't let him go. Ever.

Kinda OT: I was just thinking that if someone wants to escape the DP, they should have to propose ways that they could be a benefit to society and show genuine remorse or at least a willingness to literally BEG for forgiveness.

Today it is. We have another winter storm coming in and it's supposed to be windy, rainy and temps in the 50's for the rest of the week.
