I haven't finished listening to today's testimony yet, but seeing the text messages from May 26 -- did I call it or what? This was a really big day, and Travis told her to get lost and stay lost.

Looks like he caught her lying about this Steve Carroll guy and about whoever supposedly told her about Lisa (when, in fact, whatever information she got was obtained from stalking his email and facebook IMO) On this day, it looks like Travis had figured out exactly who she was and was calling her out on being a lying, manipulative sociopath -- that is something narcissistic sociopaths just cannot tolerate.

 But I'm actually loving that the defense team has seemed to have forgotten that the prosecution gets a turn! :great:

Why does this judge keep letting Nurmi lead her courtroom? I don't get it. :furious:

I haven't seen her indulge him excessively. She has given in on objections I think should have been sustained but it is a death penalty case so she's giving a little extra leeway. Other than that, she's not going to step in where there are no objections and he's really not controlling the schedule. Lawyers are typically allowed to suggest the point at where to break when it's close to the break time anyhow.

Wow just wow!

Can't wait to read Katie's notes from the inside

Me too!

Must be Joey Jackson? :waitasec:

I didn't see what he was saying, but he was the only one I saw. He is a defense attorney.

BBM. Thanks! That explains a lot.

If you have not seen the comparison of the photos to the shower scene photos from the Psycho movie. Might I suggest clicking this link.

http://www.chathousenews.com/2013/02/the-shower-scene-jodi-arias-chat-house.html

That was crazy! So similar.

I've always thought this last shower pic, the closeup of Travis's face, tells the story. It's a look of extreme sadness, fear, and shock. :( The jury will be able to read his face too. It will all come into perspective for them.

I've seen a few posts suggesting this but I really don't see anything close to shock or fear. The most is possibly discomfort or the beginnings of concern, kind of his instinct starting to kick in that something wasn't right.

Here's a link to some funny photos of people caught being shocked and scared in a haunted house for comparison: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/10/18/nightmares-fear-factory-_n_1975369.html

Did Travis own a pocketknife? I'd like to know if there was one found in his room. I'm sure it would be in evidence.

I highly doubt it.

And the ME said the blade alone would have to be at least a 6in blade. My hubby's pocket knife is smaller in length with a much thinner blade.

This sounds more like a large switchblade or possibly a sturdy lethal KBar military knife.

IMO

I haven't been on since this am!'n

Hi Katie! This morning you had asked us if we had anything we wanted you to find out and within 2 minutes of that I posted I wanted you to find out if Mr. Prosecutor was straight and married or unmarried. I was totally serious. (Though I did state I was more than willing to obtain my own restraining order to save him time!)

I am ready for cross!!!

(puuulease let it start tomorrow!)

BBM! There were a few moments of "Objection: asked and answered" goodness today. I'm so looking forward to cross.

Good evening! :seeya:

Watching NG, as usual, and having to laugh at JA's explanation of the gas cans. Gas is too high in California, so she brought the cans to get gas in NV and UT, yet she fills the cans in Pasadena.

:floorlaugh:

Other excerpts from today are the same.....she acts as if she's embarrassed to be answering her own attorney's questions and looks down. Totally unemotional so far re: the day of the murder.

No eye contact = fabrication.

MOO

FYI.... Wicked Tuna is way better! I can't watch her or JVM anymore. I see the trial. I know what happened. Don't need them! :)

Soo I haven't watched any testimony (been at school starting at 9am, and working til 11pm, booo) is it worth me staying up late tonight watching? I have full intentions of watching tomorrow though!!

Not even close! You're a master baiter aren't you???? :floorlaugh:

I think Katiecoolady must have me on ignore though. She has not uttered a word in response to my (totally serious) inquiries about Mr. M, esq.

I'd do it myself if I lived there (I would, I have no shame and even less modesty, as we all discovered during the BC murder trial).
:floorlaugh:

Nurmi: What do you think about when you see those pictures?

Arias: What a stupid idiot I was.

That's Jodi, alright. Always redundant overkill with this gal...

She's not your run-of-the-mill village idiot.

She's a stupid one.

You'd be surprised what you can say point blank to a narcissistic psychopath and not have it faze them in the least. It's when you threaten them with NO CONTACT that they flip out, IMO.
Closing the door so they can't get in anymore signals they've lost control of you.

For the LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY! This chick has been "spun around" more than Ginger Rogers! I screamed at the tv 25 times today ... "LEAVE LEAVE LEAVE" he obviously wanted her to leave. Gimme a frickin' break... He loses it over some stupid assed cd containing pictures of you? I thought a trip to <modsnip> calmed him down? So he loses it over PICTURES? You mean the ones that you PLASTERED all over every social media site you could find? PAAALEASE!

Two final parting words while we wait for Katiecoo to fill us in .... <modsnip>.

:chillout: Chilled myself out.

Thanks Madeleine, can you post 'gentle reminders' throughout tomorrows thread for me, my blood pressure cant take too much more of this. :please:

LOL. Happy to help anytime! BTW, I don't think anyone would describe my posts as anything approaching gentle. It's just my writing style, which is very cut-to-the-chase. I'm really not brusque/terse in person, btw.

Exactly. The world-wide rope -- the one they had to stretch out together from China to Brazil -- is why TRAVIS brought a knife to the room. And left it in the bathroom. She thinks... he could have left it on the nightstand.

Meaning: 1) She didn't premeditate this, and 2) her lying technique is falling apart.

Now for her next trick: What about the gun? Well, you know that'll be TA's gun. I guess when they go upstairs for shower photos, he's going to bring it out of his dresser or from under his mattress. Why would he do this? Possibly because he just bought it and wanted to show it off to her.

So, he conveniently has a sociopath-stalker pop-up at his house, has bought a gun, shows gun off to psycho, and then walks away from the gun... so that sociopath-stalker can use it against him.

Yeah right. This gun lie will be quite the whopper!

BBM

I haven't even made it past the whole "China to Brazil" comment . . . . because the topic of Brazilian today included the whole Kit and Kaboodle . . . . .

I just have this visual of the words "china doll to Brazilian wax" . . . .

still cracking up . . .

OK . . . .

What will she do next about the gun? . .. well didn't she say TA had to put the rope from "china to brazil" under the mattress to hold her down? It was a sleigh bed . . . they made 2 nooses so she could loosen them from her wrists if she wanted to . .. this was a soft rope (satin fibers?) . . . . a decorative cord . . .

I am going to venture a guess (and the Defense Attys can stop reading here right now) . . .

She is going to say TA had the gun under his mattress and she found it when she was taking the sheets off of the bed to wash them and hadn't seen the gun before because she never needed to lift the mattress that high until now when she needed to get the ropes out. . . . (whew .. . I think I have developed Jodi'ese . .. I couldn't get to the point in 30 words or less)

He is actually doing his job and her job. He is doing the testifying and just getting her to agree or take his lead.

They both make lousy witnesses imo.

imo

  • #196
Well, she has managed to blame Travis on everything so why not the gun. She might say he owned it but wanted to keep it a secret because it was not registered. She has had plenty of time to practice her lies even though this is her third story with a whole new load of BS.

  • #197
Don't try and analyze the knife vs scissors things. It's a made up story--a fabrication. There was no knife that TA used. There was no tying up of JA with tassels. All a lie trying to get a knife into TA's room and/or bathroom to provide a convenient excuse for why JA was able to have a knife with which to inflict 28+ stab wounds.

I don't believe she was tied up either. Just trying to poke holes in her story about the kitchen knife in the bedroom/bathroom.

Her body language has MASSIVELY changed today. 99% of the time, Jodi's eye-contact is like she's watching a tennis match. She consistently looks at Nurmi to receive a question, then turns to answer the jury DIRECTLY in the eyes.

But not today... Suddenly, she's:

-- Looking DOWN while Nurmi throws her a question (like she's on "Jeopardy," trying hard to remember/envision her rehearsed answer) and

-- Looking AT NURMI to answer many questions. She can't look the jury in the eye today, which is rare.

She's not having fun spinning her fairy tale life story any more. Now she really has to work, to get this right... to remember the lies she knows JM will NAIL her on.

Either that, or someone on that jury is throwing dagger-eyes at her. And she knows she's not being believed. I think she's wilting.

You know, this pedophile thing is absolutely not working. It is my understanding that pedophiles pretty much stay within one sex. Either they prefer boys OR girls. Jodi and her attorney are all over the map on this and it's just plain gross and despicable to accuse the murder victim who is not there to defend himself.

Ahaahahaaa!

Mr. Knot just said that the story would more believable if once, just ONCE she said she had LIKED the sex.

I thought it was a pretty good point because even in toxic relationships, sometimes the sex is the only thing the people have in common.

You think her team could have made her story seem a little more realistic by saying "oh he was so cruel to me, but I was in love with him and sexually attracted to him and it became hard or me to just leave."

At least I'd believe that more than this deadpan, unemotional, uninvolved garbage and that she acquiesced out of fear. Um. No.

I actually think there are times that she has gone out of her way to say she liked it ... even when Nurmi was looking for a different answer lol Or when she says, I was game for most of it.
