Hi Everyone! :greetings:

Hope it's okay to put this here... I've been lurking and reading for quite awhile and finally decided to join in. Just wanted to say I appreciate all of your intelligent, thoughtful (and wonderfully hilarious!) posts. I'm still getting caught up on the recent threads, and on yesterday's testimony, but today is the perfect day for me to be stuck in the house with plenty of time on my hands (blizzarding here in central Kansas) lol...

Bring it ON, Juan! I love the smell of a good cross examination in the morning! :woohoo:

Welcome :seeya: It is a very good day to be snowed in.

So many threads to go through, I can't get caught up. This has probably been said many times already but my :twocents:

When Jodi whined about the attempted suicide at the jail - nick from the blade in her hand, that it was like a paper cut and it stung so bad, or whatever she said - that was IT. Game over. The victim was brutally slaughtered with a blade and she said that?? Poor meeeeee??

That sealed her fate IMO. No one in that courtroom could relate to the selfishness and lack of empathy that came out of her mouth at that point. That was THE most shocking thing I had heard in all of the days of testimony. Not the sex talk, the tape, or texts, or any of that imo compared to it. That statement in the context of the victim's manner of death was beyond. The truth flashed brilliantly in that courtroom - and JA was exposed fully for the fake she really is. Murder will out.

For me the most shocking and most offensive was when she said she liked to think that Travis "was in a better place". I am still very angry and stunned about that.

Nurmi is focusing FAR too much on her alleged "failed suicide" thoughts. I don't even say "attempts" because I refuse to believe she even got the close to doing us all the favor.

Failed suicide???

So what? I wished she had - would have saved a bazillion tax dollars and spared us from countless biographies and sophmoric novellas and b-rated "made for tv" specials.

Besides, it's *completely* irrelevant. Suicide does not suppose innocence. Just ask Philip Markoff, Adam Lanza, Adam Mayes, Christopher Dorner - oh that's right, you can't. Because they are all cold blooded ruthless murderers who realized "their life was over" and committed suicide because they were too chicken***** to face their penalties.

*Important*: Jodi's claim proves a very good point which contradicts the "abused" state of mind. Keep in mind she claims she knicked herself with a razor blade and it hurt so much that she stopped and did not repeat her attempt. This tells me her pain receptacles are working *just fine*. She felt pain, she registered risk, and she ceased her actions, she withdrew, and she abandoned the tool that hurt her. Soooooooo....she wants us to believe that after Travis supposedly hurt her far worse, she kept coming back for MORE? No way. Jodi is a flight person and she proved it. Jodi was never in a state of fear. When Jodi feels fear, she runs the other direction, not runs straight into it.

here's something i whipped up using a screen shot from an HLN youtube video depicting TA's bedroom and bathroom floor plan, and the sequence of (alleged) events as described by j.a's testimony on 2/20/13

thank you!! this is what i envisioned when she was talking, but was sure I was wrong. who doubles back into trouble?

Jodi left out spinning. Every time Travis had his hands on her he spun her :floorlaugh:

Morning Minor!:seeya:

Absolutely.

This is a rare event for all of us really and is one of the most fascinating aspects of this case. Rarely do we get to see a full blown psychopath on the stand for days. I am sure it will be used in many psychology classes for many years to come.

And a female psychopath at that!

one thing: the defense cannot say they were not given generous leeway by this judge... dang!

Nurmi practically stuffed the words into her mouth and she STILL could not spit them back out in the way he wanted her too!

She cannot help herself.
It is amazing to watch.. truly!

I am really looking forward to Juan's cross today because he speaks quickly and does not pause between questions. I bet Jodi answer's R E A L L Y S L O W L Y so she has time to scramble to remember her lies.

I have a feeling he slept like a baby.

This is not his first rodeo. He has put another female sociopath on death row before who testified for 9 days.

Same drivel...........claiming self defense..........claiming domestic abuse.

IMO

I keep thinking about the theme that should be used in cross-examination ...and if it were my case (not that I'm second guessing Juan), I would keep hammering home the notion that Jodi has shown us that she will say literally anything to save her own a$$. Therefore, you cannot believe anything she says if it is in any way self-serving.

You are right. And he will.

I haven't had a chance to watch the lies spew out of JA's mouth yesterday. But I can't wait to see Juan in action!

She really was spun around more than anyone - ever!! She'll have lots of time to spin and spin and spin herself around in her little cell on death row.

Just listening to Jodi from yesterday on IS. Jodi is talking about her memory gap. Among other things, she mentions that she had forgotten the poses in the pictures she took of Travis, but she SAW them and remembered them.

I suppose if Juan shows her a picture of Travis as she left him and detailed pictures of every single wound, she should be able to remember them too!

i think thats why she just let it continue,no grounds for appeal that it wasnt a fair trial or the likes.
