Good morning! I've had to miss a lot of the last couple of weeks due to work (grumble) and the court's schedule, but I'm off today, Monday and Tuesday. Perfect timing! I've been able to keep up thanks to you all, so thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Cannot wait for cross today. She won't have Nurmi leading her through her script, won't get to tell her life story, won't get the "awww... tell us how you feel?" carp. Juan is going to wake her up out of that black out real quick, yes indeed.

She is going to screw up bigtime today. Her answers are going to show she does remember. He will be firing questions at her so fast she wont be able to think of what she told Nurmi on direct.

I think Nurmi was "attempting" to address each facet of the State's opening statement and case in chief (but Jodi didn't take the cue as Mormon Attorney so eloquently said earlier).

She couldn't lie good when she really needed to. When Nurmi needed her to say something she said the opposite of what he was reaching for. For example the gun..

she goes off script and says she didn't buy it to kill herself but because she was going panning for gold and on a guy camping trip where she was the only female and the water was pretty and sparkly and oh she met them at the purple plum and they were her friends but they were guys and you know how guys get when they drink and so on......

Hate to be Debbie Downer, but I have a bad feeling

she's "sick" or she attempted suicide (she wrapped a bedsheet around her neck in preparation for hanging but when she realized how unattractive it made her look, she had to stop, oh the trauma)

I totally understand that feeling. She is a sociopath and makes everything work out for her good, and her good only. And especially after the Casey case, being doubtful makes sense. But I really feel our Juan is going to be able to trump the psycho! He has dealt with people like her a lot and will know exactly what to do to make everything clear (even though she did a pretty good job herself ). Justice will prevail this time!!!

I've had that same feeling all morning, I will actually be pleasantly surprised if court is in session today, I really expect someone on the defense team to get 'sick'. I really think Nurmi wants the last of Jodi's direct testimony to remain on the juror's ears over the period of a weekend.

i'm worried about that too. but if i'm nurmi, i'd know after yesterday that the longer they ponder jodi's story, the more holes they'll find in it. no benefit, really, to dragging this out. it's not going to get any better for the defense from here on out.

I read on another site this morning, that it would be closed session court today, and that they suspected Jodi would be asking for the plea deal (LWOP, no appeals) because all her experts said she did so badly yesterday. Is this true? I hadn't heard it anywhere else.

I probably won't be able to get on here when it gets closer to cross exam time. I will type up the morning and post it when I can.

I won't be here in the afternoon as I have a doctor's appt. I already asked DH if I could watch on YouTube after the kids were in bed. i.e. ignore him for the evening. Poor guy, he's a trial widower. Good morning family!! They just showed that picture of TA again on IS. The one of him in the shower, looking into the camera. It haunts me!! He's crying in that picture or I am not a Cherokee! Thank you ALL for such a warm and kind welcome! If there was any abuse in this whole thing, it was Travis. I wish he would have followed his instinct as he obviously knew she was bad news. But, like I stated as a survivor, they always lure you back in. Nothing against men, I have a FANTASIC husband now, but sex will always prevail especially if it is a woman that is willing to go all out, which she obviously did and lead him into a lethal trap. Just want to say, you all are WONDERFUL, so good to read exactly what I and my fellow officer's know is totally false on her part and has become just disgusting. Again, thank you you all are GREAT and have wonderful insight and thoughts...good to be able to read what I am thinking

Hey JennyT, as an LE officer what did you make of Arias saying she didn't tell detective Flores about the sex because he was MORMON! I about fell out of my chair! No way she knew that :no:

But I have entertained a couple of cool scenarios that would allow the jurors to get straight to the business of deciding her fate. Wouldn't it be cool if Juan got up there and said "I have no cross, as Ms. Arias has said more than enough to convince the jury beyond any reasonable doubt, that she is guilty as charged and should receive the death penalty." :dance:

Another scenario I've entertained would be if Juan simply said to the jurors; "I have no cross, just a word of caution to the jurors "If you let her off she may very well date your loved one."

She deserves death and imo she is going to get death.

Juan wouldnt plea ............he has no reason to do so.

I feel sorry for anyone who has ever come across this woman, even her attorneys. I believe deep down, they know she is guilty and I'm sure it's hard to defend someone who brutally killed another person.

I know I would not want to have to defend her.

didn't her male lawyer try to get off this case? does anyone know why?

Would not surprise me if she ended up throwing all of them under the bus after she is convicted and sentenced. It seems this is just the way she is.
