Exactly! Twenty seven years old. Drop out. No college. Living with men since she was seventeen. Lost a house and a car. I've lost track of how many jobs she's had. It seems she always worked, which is great but if she wanted to chase some guy she would just quit and get a new job when she was done with her latest man, vacation, whatever....

So true, TexMex!

She had absolutely *nothing* going for her w/o Travis. A waitress living with her grandparents in a very humble household.

IMO, she has totally shown her motive in this 8 day diatribe.

I feel kind of sorry for Nurmi, how could anyone listen to this for days on end and maintain their sanity.

Ugh. She is so gross, it is dripping off her and the jury must feel as dirty as we all do. . .

I'm not going to disparage her for these things. College is not for everyone (TA didn't go to college). I know countless people who can't be single. Doesn't really have anything to do with her being a vicious killer.

Here in Cincinnati, Ohio local cable is showing the Hitchcock film "Psycho" this weekend..
you need some humor to get through this morbid trial, the sadness

of these families who were pulled into this tragedy, now have to sit, listen, watch and carry so much "Constant Sorrow" every single day

I hope this jury is a little more educated than those who were discharged in the Price/Hune trial today in the UK for 'incompetence'.

This is so frightening. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me.

Bye, Bye Jodi.

Don't worry, you are going to get your wish to die. :furious:

omg....bits of truth again in watching her testify on NG...."There was spit coming out"

NO JODI....You know darn well that was blood he was spitting out after you shot him in the face. Good Grief I am so mad at her.

Waiting tables is an honorable job and not everyone has to go to college. I condemn Jodi for committing murder, not for her career choice.

I agree. I don't think he is going to even bother with the obvious, ridiculous lies, like the skater boys turning her license plate upside down, or her cell sitting in hot chocolate all night so she needed to borrow a new one, etc etc.

I think he goes straight to her description of his 'attack' on her, and the nonsensical explanation of how she retrieved the gun, climbing up into the cabinet while a crazed killer was 'running' after her. He was only a few feet away---so how did she get the stool, pull it over, climb up, find the gun, climb down, and point the gun at him, before he could stop her?

Exactly. He's not going to get bogged down in minutiae. If he goes for credibility it will, imo, be briefly based on her videotaped interviews. Just enough to remember the detail and ease of the prior lies.

I just wanted to give you all a really good excuse for calling in sick tomorrow . . . .

Tell them you just cannot come in because you are having an EYE PROBLEM . . .

Folks . . . no breast milk or tea bags needed here . . . . . just tell them you absolutely cannot come in due to the eye problem you are suffering with. . .. .

you see - you can hold your head up high and not even have to lie about this . . . it is true . . . you are having an EYE PROBLEM when . . . . . . .

You just cannot see coming in to work/office/school/appointments/lunch/etc while Juan is taking Jodi on Cross!

i need an excuse to give my kids (4 and 2) for going to bed early :waitasec: i suppose i could bribe them? :please:

I think she will take the role of "beaten puppy"....watch for cowering away from JM, hair curtain, pleading looks at the jury.....sigh....I can visualize it. I'm sure Juan can too though....

I'm not sure what we will see. I think she will be very very angry at the likes of anyone questioning her "story". The world has been her stage. Now they can eat cake. Can she hide it is what I am most interested in. If anyone can get under her skin I believe Juan can. I cant wait. MOO

It's amazing how consistent sociopaths are, from all I've seen, in refusing to take the blame for virtually anything. They seem to have an external reason, excuse or cause for every negative thing they do. But, they are also the first to take credit for doing something positive, upstanding or good. I'm really curious as to what goes on in JA's brain in particular, compared to a "normal" brain when lying or becoming emotional or whatever. I know there is more to evilness than just brain activity, but scientifically I wonder what the differences would show, if any.

There are definitely studies of the gray vs white matter of the brain, but who's going to save your soul.

I only got to see a few little phases of her testimony today, darn real life!

However, I walked away with an impression I haven't had for many (many, LOL) years....back in my first academy days, at the end we had to do mock trials to learn proper court procedures and how to testify. Obviously, many of my classmates would be playing certain roles for the fake court cases.

While they were an excellent learning procedure...the ACTING was pretty funny due to the horrible lows we reached. :floorlaugh:

Well, I believe Jodie was far worse with her make believe stories than any of us were in our mock court trials. In all seriousness, she was a horrible actress. She's fascinating to me, in that regard. To think that SHE THINKS this was a good idea, that she would come across as believable. Fascinating, really!

Can't stand this. There has been no one to tell TA's side. :( All we have is the defendants. After re-watching some of her testimony today, I find myself wondering, for a moment if TA was abusive at times. Then I think he may have been worn out from her. Even so, I wonder how jury members may be feeling. I'll be glad when Juan gets his turn.

Were any of TA's siblings close to him? I know he had two sisters and one brother in court. I might be wrong, but didn't he have 6 siblings? I hope the Mr. Martinez calls at least on of them to testify on TA's behalf. Did Travis tell any of his siblings about JA?

I think many people, myself included, can be abusive at times. In my opinion anger often triggers abusive reactions.

An abusive relationship is something entirely different though. Instead of a kneejerk reaction out of anger it is a relationship built on contrived manipulation and purposeful abuse with the sole intent of controlling another human being. From everything I've read of Travis I can't find anything that is consistent with very well known controlling behaviors of abusive personalities. Jodi, however...

I have a distinct impression that Jodi provoked Travis repeatedly seeking a certain outcome, obviously trampled his privacy, and often played passive-aggressive mind games - in addition to more nefarious tips and tricks only a psychopath would be capable of. As such, I believe Travis' anger was more than justified. MOO

i am positively wetting myself in anticipation for tomorrow.

can see JM asking straight to the point questions and expecting yes/no answers or at least short answers no life story or silly unrelated details.

i get the feeling nurmi will be "attempting" to object to a lot of JM's questions...just me or does any one else see it? i think hes pizzed nurmi off

BBM YES, I have seen that for a while now. The disdain Nurmi shows to Martinez is palpable. The rude behavior he's displayed during the prosecutor's objections is childish and doesn't reflect well on him (not to mention that he seems to have no clue how to properly frame a question to a witness). I think that quite a few of the judge's sidebars have been about this very thing. I'm sure he will be attempting to get under Juan's skin in that bullying way that he has about him. Juan will hopefully give him a lesson in how a professional handles themselves in a court of law. JMHO.

ME too! I am so angry I can feel my heart racing. I keep thinking about my brother.

How easy it would be for all of us to let such a lunatic into our lives! Poor Travis.

If the first blood was drawn from a gunshot wound, why was the clean shell casing found where it had fallen in a puddle of blood?
