Yes. I am amazed that this defendant has done a masterful job of lying on direct, up to the point of the "I don't remember" murder, but she cannot or will not continue with her portrayal of the poor submissive victim during this critical cross examination. It's as though her pride and belligerence are more important, winning against Juan is more important, than the outcome of her fate.I can't help but believe that whatever compassion any of the jurors may have had for her during the defense's direct has been decimated by the blatant change in her persona which reflects the cold, calculating and masterful manipulator. Doesn't she care that her behavior is cultivating (I hope) hate for her by the jury?

Say what you will about her, but this defendant is no dummy. I don't understand why she is not acting the part of poor victim "appropriately" at this point. She has chosen instead to be a b*tch on wheels.

While this is fascinating to watch - crazy in action - I cannot stand the disrespect she is showing to the Court. I wish they could give her a time out and send her to her cell until she improves her behavior.

BBM : That's exactly right

was that her???

Our very own Anita Richman was there. She said it was because a man sitting near/behind them was falling asleep and snoring loudly.

IS is showing clips from yesterdays trial. I had forgotten some of the great stuff JM did. She's all confused about when she spoke to Travis about going over to help with Christmas decorations. She can't remember the time she was supposed to come over, but JM keeps pointing out that she can't say what she went, but she must have made a time to come over at some point. She can remember seeing him with the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the internet. He also asks her what her phone number back then was and she rattles it off like nothing. :giggle:

I had a different telephone number three years ago and it got changed. I can't remember the old number. But I'm older and have had chemo.

I felt badly for Aileen Wuornos, her miserable early life, being sexually abused and thrown out at a young age, her anguish at life. Yes, she murdered those men and she needed to be away from society but unlike Ms Three Stories later Wuornos admitted to the killings. IMO society failed to protect Aileen and bore some responsiblity for the result versus Arias and the path she choose as the one which would reward her the most with the least amount of work.

IMO Jodi is way more of a monster than Aileen ever was. I think Aileen still had a soul. I don't think Jodi ever has had one. JMO

three stories, three holes, that's how she rolls...:rocker:

FWIW I have the same creepy feeling about the shower pics of TA. The poses are odd as if someone made him do them and that last photo that was shown of him looking directly at the camera....he looks sad or something. I told my DH that he looks like he knows exactly what's about to happen to him :(

I believe JA loves being the center of attention for the last 9days.

She was simply gleeful being on the stand while Juan asked her questions.
Ugh, I do hope the jury sees what we are all seeing. This is the first time I can remember being creeped out by a female. Pure evil.

Another thing I want to add is that when Juan makes it clear to the jury that the stories about Travis as told by Jodi are all proven lies and fabrications- then all of the testimony from the defense experts afterward will become absolutely ridiculous. They will be basing their testimony on stories Jodi has told them and post traumatic stress reactions from true victims- when it will be proven Jodi was NEVER abused or terrorized by Travis. Sort of rendering the rest of the defenses witness testimony useless and irrelevant.

I just finishing rewatching "Dear Zachary" (I watched it a couple of years back), and I am shocked by the similarities here. Andrew even makes a comment in the old footage, I believe, about feeling like a 12 year old. Wow.

Man, that is one touching documentary, but it just rips my heart out. My face is blotchy from crying, no, sobbing. God bless David and Kate Bagby.

I bet JA would've tried to trap TA with a pregnancy, if she could have.

ETA: I am curious to know Hopeful One's thoughts after viewing it for the first time.

geez....she certainly is a "specimen"

And an arrogant one at that ! Not only does she think she can fool JM, the jury, the media and everyone else in that courtroom ... Arias thinks she is a good enough liar to fool everyone she has ever met.

I would love to know why she dropped out of high school and what her "real" relationship is with her parents. There is no telling what this woman did before meeting TA that her parents might have covered up.

And let's not forget that cross is just one piece of the prosecution puzzle. JM is free to call rebuttal witnesses to dig her grave just a little deeper.

I'm sure to quite sure she forced herself into helping Travis with his christmas decorations. In fact, he probably didn't even want her help. But she insisted!
I don't think JA takes no for an answer..

I know you were not the first to call it a PEACE sign but it was not a peace sign

It was a TWO finger salute which is basically a *uck you but more emphatic than just giving someone the finger

That's what it is? A two finger salute? I've never heard of that. I wonder if I can google it.

If that's the case, then he is sending a message to those viewing the pictures--because why would he do that to Jodi if they had just had a wonderful afternoon of sex?

ITA with your post. It concerns me a bit that his point may be lost with all the defense tactics (JA's selective memory, JA's constant verbal gymnastics, JA's inability to read at a first grader's pace (same goes for the defense attorneys)).

IMO

anything that may not seem clear now will become crystal clear in the rebuttal case, and especially in closing arguments. he'll tie it all up for the jury and hopefully get her a one way ticket to death row. that's where she clearly belongs, IMO.

Black's Law Dictionary 5th Edition:
:Circumstantial Evidence: Testimony not based on actual personal knowledge or observation of the facts in controversy, but of other facts from which deductions are drawn, showing indirectly the facts sought to be proved. The proof of certain facts and circumstances in a given case, from which jury may infer other connected facts which usually and reasonably follow according to the common experience of mankind." page 221

I have heard attorneys say that circumstantial evidence is BETTER than direct evidence, because eye witnesses often get things wrong, contradict each other, etc.

Never heard of it either. Yes, you can Google it, I just did.

Beth Karras thinks that she's afraid to lock herself into an answer because she doesn't know what JM has to use against her. :giggle: I think she hit the nail on head there.

her money issues/non issues are becoming clear to me. I am watching TruTV In session replay of her testimony. She has never paid mortgage or rent in her life. Not with Travis, not with Rachel. And when she bought the house with her bf, it was his money not hers, she just moved in with him.

So her waitress money (which can be significant if you include tips and don't really pay taxes on most of that) she could have made about $3000 a month just to spend on what she wanted.

Mostly with her, it would be spent on gasoline.

She may have made quite a good bit of money as a phone sex operator or bondage mistress.

Apparently she missed her calling

I've only watched bits of the direct testimony, then tuned in for the cross. I hate, hate, hate her voice, and the constant parsing of words! But fascinated in seeing a true sociopath at work. She feels she has this jury eating out of the palm of her hand, if not all 12, at least a few of the men will vote NG. I wish she submitted those naked pics to Howard Stern to evaluate her for Playboy material. Giant Pepperoni Fetish mags is about as good as she could expect.
