I'm no forensic professional by any means, but wouldn't one have to be BEHIND someone to inflict a throat-slitting injury such as this? If so, self defense my @$$.

Probably. And, depending on how tall he was compared to Jodi, he may have had to be down on his knees. Could be the throat slit after the stabs to the back. Seems like stabs to the back might make you fall to your knees in pain. Just horrible. Jodi cannot possibly stand a chance with this being defensive. If this jury finds otherwise, we should just close down courts and LE across the nation cause they wouldn't be worth much.

I sometimes wonder if the criminal is sitting there amazed that the prosecution has figured out the sequence of events when they weren't even there or thinking pffftttt they aren't even close. Anyone else?

Amazing, she originally requested that she be allowed to represent herself but days later admitted to the judge that she was in over her head so the judge reinstated the defense attorneys. Now that would have been interesting to watch.

I would have like to see that. A joke for sure!

I agree that she was ballistic when she inflicted these injuries. What I can't understand is how she worked up that rage? Did she just spontaneously go from 0 to 100mph? What happened to trigger this raging?

I can't imagine driving 1000 miles and then sleeping, then having sex, while in a constant state of rage. I don't think it would be physiologically possible to maintain such a state for that long.

So what triggered her? Did she just say, "ok, now I will kill him?"

This makes no sense to me. But then how could such a thing make sense to anyone?

IMO it was probably more determination than rage. The guy just wouldn't die! She was probably more afraid of him surviving than she was furious.

It was a plan, not a rage attack.

"Well, members of the jury, he caused me to break a nail during our camera time, which is totally abusive, so I did what I had to do!"

I think she did that as a way to try and get those forged pedo letters in as evidence.

How the heck does a 115 pound woman drag a 185 - 200 lb dead man down a hallway while snapping a picture with a camera????

I can't figure these photos. I ws thinking, maybe it was on the "continuous shot" setting, where the camera intermittently takes pix at certain intervals. But that doesn't seem to fit the timing.

Hi, Boodles. The best way to do so would be to be drag him with something tied around his head or arms or with your own arms under his. It would take time, but I'm sure her adrenaline was pumping.

I think that it was in a continuous shot setting for at least some of the pictures. It's possible that some of the shots turned out to be blanks.

Apparently, the gunshot being the final wound could help the prosecution case for a death sentence. (So I imagine a vigorous cross-examination):

http://abcnews.go.com/US/jodi-arias-jury-sees-bloody-handprint-wall/story?id=18160526#.UOyX-OTAfSg

"Prosecutors are also expected to call the Maricopa County medical examiner to testify about whether Arias shot Alexander after he was already dead from stab wounds, a fact that could determine whether she gets the death sentence.

If Arias shot Alexander after he was already dead, it could qualify as a "heinous and depraved" killing, which would help the prosecution's case for the death penalty."

I think a lot had been building up to this. I think the biggest thing is that Travis dared to take another woman on the Cancun trip. And the fact that he would not marry her.

Don't get too smart chick your attitude with this ME might back fire.

  • #571
She is quick with her line of questioning....rapid fire questions

Some other poster mentioned JA morphing into a doppleganger for her female attorney and looking at Jodi I agree. The other days at court besides the no glasses, Jodi had one or two pieces of hair as bangs. Today her bangs are much more full like her lawyer.

Pointing out how much more he weighed than Jodi isn't going to help. She slaughtered that man.

I posted at length about this a little while and a couple of pages ago. I think she planned out the whole scenario and that the first stab wound to the heart was to kill Travis immediately. When that didn't work, she got very angry at Travis for not dying and flew into a rage.

Element of surprise and a weapon ...odds were on her favor

"You're familiar with an entry wound, yes?"

No.

I can't stand ridiculous lines of questions like this. I'm sure there will be some witty zinger eventually here...

problem with this line of questioning is that BOTH the neck wound and the head wound would have left a lot of blood.

  • #578
And here is the DP question... was he alive when shot...

Yeah if it was not for the suspicious gun evidence
I would honestly not believe that she planned it.
I wonder if the defense will say she was still afraid of him
and stole it to bring with her "just in case".

Head wounds bleed, right?
