I'm bringing this over from the end of the last thread:

Did you see the photos of his hands? No bruised or bloody knuckles from hitting or punching someone. Just several defensive wounds. IMO neither shows wounds from a two sided fight whatsoever.

I must have misunderstood. The friend told her.

K, I thought the male friend of Travis' who called Jodi said that there was something wrong or something happened and when she asks what, he said he didn't know or didn't have any information. I didn't think he said Travis' body was found or that he WAS dead. I was wondering if LE had a part in the call and wanted to see what she might say or how she would act. Hope I am making sense.

Yes! I forgot about those. Did the letters turn out to be fake? Was that just what the prosecution argued?

Per the Huffington article, the court ruling shown at the site indicated they were not real and in fact Jodi claimed they were copies of the originals that someone sent to her. She couldn't or wouldn't tell who sent them to her. Such a crock!

I think we're saying the same thing: he has defensive wounds, she doesn't yet claimed she killed him in self-defense. But I think she was aggravating him, trying to get him to attack her to make her stop - so that she would then have defensive wounds and therefore her plan would be more believable. But he didn't bite, or it just wasn't in him to physically harm a woman, no matter what torture he was going through.

Hope this makes sense!

ETA: In other words, she had a plan to provoke him so that she could sustain some defensive wounds before murdering him, to have the wounds as evidence. Just a thought I had - that maybe that's why he looks so miserable in that shower photo. :(

I had heard that at one time she had fired her attorneys and decided to represent herself. But, since it was a DP case, the judge ordered that she had representation. If this is the case, she doesn't have that great a relationship with her attorneys. Does anyone think that with her extreme case of narcissism, she will insist that she is able to go on the stand because she thinks that she can explain it all away?

I have wondered about that as well. I imagine it is one big argument between Jodi and her legal team. I see her chomping at the bit to dazzle the world with her intelligence and charm and waltz away from the courthouse with several new suitors buzzing around her. I believe she pictures herself as Cinderella. In my world yeah she could be Cinderella, Cinderella from he11.

Remember when the detective asked her what she had heard and she said that the friend had told her there was a lot of blood? She was told by the friend that he was dead before she talked to the detective.

There must have been two conversations because I'm hearing on TV from yesterday that there was a call right at the beginning saying there were cops at the house. After that, a friend (not sure it was the same one) called and told her that he was dead. So, that must be what you are remembering.

Below are some observations of Jodi by Travis' good friends, Chris and Sky Hughes:

For months they communicated through phone calls, email and text messages, and met for romantic rendezvous at Chris and Sky Hughes’ house, a midway point in their long-distance relationship.
She was very good at manipulating people… She was like a chameleon,” says Chris Hughes.

"[Arias] was totally obsessed with him," (Sky) Hughes said. "She wouldn't let him go. Whenever he would try to sever all ties, she would threaten to kill herself ... He would tell her he didn't want anything to do with her, and she would show up at his house. We knew it was her. We didn't want it to be her, but [we] just knew it was."

She would break into his email -- multiple times -- [and] when he began dating another girl, she snuck into the house and watched them sleeping -- they had fallen asleep on an oversized bean bag watching a movie," Hughes said.

"He would be at his girlfriend's house and someone would knock and run -- he knew it was her. His tires were slashed twice and he 'knew' it was her. His girlfriend's tires were slashed, and again he knew it was her ... If Travis began talking to a girl or took a girl on a date, it was shortly after that Jodi would friend them on MySpace and began talking to them."

Hughes added: "To say Jodi was creepy and obsessed with Travis would be a huge understatement."

Somewhere I saw an interview with the Hughes and they spoke about the late night discussion they had at their house with Travis about how worried they were about him dating Jodi (Jodi had gone to bed quite a bit earlier). At some point, the wife says out loud that she bets Jodi is eavesdropping and sure enough, here Jodi comes into the room, pissed off at what she heard. Sky Hughes said Jodi gave them a look that scared the poop out of them. After that, they told Travis that Jodi wasn't welcome at their home or around their children anymore.

IS Playing the phone call where Jodi tells Det about call she got. She says noting about being told Travis was found dead, just that he was found and police were there. She is recapping what she said and how she felt, indicating she surely knew what was wrong. Nothing said about him being dead!

Am not trying to be too pushy here, but I'm not sure the friend said Travis was actually dead, only that something was wrong, "they" found Travis and there was a lot of blood. Did she "infer" that Travis was dead or..?

ETA wondering if the call that told Jodi that actually mentioned a dead Travis came before or after Det spoke to her. Certainly it would have made the news, so that would cover her knowing about it.

Chris Hughes also said they stayed at his home NUMEROUS times, that is the word he used. if it was just two to three times, I do not see him using the word numerous, numerous to me hearing it said by him sounded more like 5-7 times. Seems to me her welcome would have run out much sooner.

I think because im from quebec and my english is not that well and that i have insomnia for like a week now that i dont make sense when i type...lol

No shes evil, in fact i only applaud her for showing how the justice in canada is ...bs.Clearly somebody that rapes her own sister is twisted and gross but compared to JA, she was abused, physically and mentally...

Popoju I am reading and understanding you just fine :). I don't remember reading/hearing that Karla was abused EXCEPT by claims from her legal counsel and the so called abuser was her husband, not her family. I didn't believe for that short period of time from when they dated and then married that she was dominated by him. IMO Karla was quite capable of raping and murdering young women and she enjoyed herself. I lost all sympathy when I learned that she had taken part in her own younger sister's rape and murder.

I'm SHOCKED that she told the judge she couldn't handle it. I can't imagine her admitting anything that doesn't make her look perfect...lol

I had heard that too about CA. Narcissists like that can hardly stand it if the spotlight isn't on them at all times!

She told the judge she was "over her head". It burst her little bubble when the "faked" letters from TA were not allowed in.

Edit: LoL Popsicle, I see you already nailed this one. Gee whiz, you leave for 10 minutes and you're two pages behind!
