I actually turned it off. I was so looking forward to his day in court but honestly, this is weird. Like there is waaaaay too little questioning and far too much monologuing. Not what I am accustomed to in trials.

a person on Court TV’s S
Johnny did get in the fact that her family & friends lived free in his penthouses .
He bought those ,btw , before the Amber relationship.
She -became- what he thought he needed.
I have no doubt she talked her way around the -pre- or -post- nup.
He got baited & switched.
And when he’d had enough ...she started to create her exit narrative$.
The 7 million wasn’t enough.
She set out to destroy his career... because she had none.

Amber who?

I agree… this is pretty clear.

She set her sights on him, as they used to say.

i mean, he was primed to fall for it, which is not great and indicates a bit of tendency to personal narcissism (you should always be dubious of anyone mirroring all your exact likes and dislikes, lol) but, she was definitely the aggressor; and less than honest in presenting herself.

He’s an introvert fighting for his reputation IMO.
Jurors may just get him…get it all.

Chanley P. on CourtTV, who has been on premises in the courtroom, says they've seemed rapt; and at least one has been taking copious notes on everything he's said.

She also said a couple days or so ago that 2 who aren't taking any type of notes in real time on the other witnesses, are making up for it by constantly studying the facial expressions and body language of Johnny and Amber as third-party testimony went on.

You can zone out from information as a juror, it's true; but simultaneously, it's not like being us, because we can turn off the TV, go wash dishes, fold laundry, pay bills, go somewhere outside home, etc.

The courtroom is all the entertainment these jurors have got in real time, lol.

The attorney described it as bizarre, and I've heard others describe it as boring. Some may have wanted to shout that old tv-show line, "Just the facts, ma'am" while watching. Personally, I saw his testimony as an artistic soul trying to explain his feelings, and how he's viewed and lived his 58 years... and trying to honestly (in his own way - not an actor playing a part) clear his name in the face of horrible accusations by a person he loved. This is, of course, jmo... I have no idea what the jurors think now or in the weeks to come.
Listening to the Court tv Johnny play back this morning..snips of what he said…he sounds sincere in his sharing…NOT acting but being REAL .
I predict Amber will play into this role of her life when she takes the stand. I think the things she has used to get her way are not going to work in this trial. So..Looking forward to prosecutions cross of AH.
I guess she thinks everyone is stone stupid except her. We will see.

Waiting for today's testimony to continue. I too felt that JD's testimony yesterday was REAL, and also TRUE. There was not a bit seen or heard that seemed 'rehearsed'. There were no common phrases or cliches in his testimony. He spoke the truth, from his heart, very carefully choosing the words HE thought would convey his truth.
I hope that continues. I hope the jury is appreciative of his truth.

I agree, he was genuine and not acting IMO. I just wish his counsel had kept him more on track. I think they erred by letting him meander as much as he did, but it is a judgment call. Most people want the opportunity to see a celebrity live, unvarnished and unrehearsed so maybe it didn't hurt him. I want him to be vindicated and AH to be held accountable, if only financially for what she has created with her lies.

(On when things changed in his relationship with Heard) Depp: The way the she would begin to speak to me ... I was suddenly just wrong about anything.
.......
Depp: If you tried to explain yourself and correct the misunderstanding, it would then begin to heighten as Miss Heard was unable to be wrong. It just didn't happen. She couldn't be wrong.

Depp: It was astounding how wrong I was about everything that I had experienced. Within the movie industry and just life itself. I was, sort of, not allowed to be right. Not allowed to have a voice.
.......
You start to slowly realize that you are in a relationship with your mother, in a sense. And I know that sounds perverse and obtuse, but the fact is, some people search for weaknesses in people.
.......
Depp: As it escalated and continued to escalate, I went to straight to what I had learned as a youth, which was to remove myself from the situation so that it couldn't continue. Because there's only so much your ears can hear and never forget.
.......
Depp: I would lock myself into the bathroom or somewhere she couldn't get into. And that happened constantly over the years.

I sympathize with Depp if all he is saying is true. However, his long, slow, monotone testimony sounds more like therapy session. Depp is on a witness stand in a court of law and his testimony is highly unusual.

Sierra Gillespie @sierragillespie

Depp: She would tell me what a bad father I was and that I had no idea how to parent ... I couldn't understand how ... I could be so wrong about everything.

Depp: I don't know that the motivations were. If there was some species of jealousy, or maybe just hatred. But in any case, the escalation of these day-to-day arguments were simply unnecessary.
.......
Depp: It did not serve the relationship. It was meant to feed her need. She has a need for conflict. She has a need for violence. It erupts out of nowhere.

Depp's testimony appears live now on HLN television in addition to live stream.

Depp: She had become my opponent. And everything I did just didn't fit her, she didn't accept it. So I stayed, because, of course, I didn't want to fail. I didn't want to hurt anyone. Especially Miss Heard. I didn't want to break her heart.

Depp says #AmberHeard had spoken of suicide a couple of times and in the back of his mind he always had the visual of when his mother tried to kill herself after his father left.
.......
Depp says many times when he would try to leave during a fight #AmberHeard would come with security guards and stop him at the elevator crying that she'll die if he leaves.

Depp: Violence is unnecessary. Why would you hit someone to make them agree with you? I don't think it works.
.......
Depp: If she had referred to me as being a monster, there was no way I was going to go through a 45 minute conversation of, 'You're a monster!' 'No, I'm not.' 'You're a monster!' 'No, I'm not.'
.......
Depp: She told me many times the monster was only me when I was using drugs and alcohol. But even when I was stone cold sober ... the term "The Monster" was still there.

Johnny Depp on Amber Heard: "Small insults and teenage or high school tactics.... bullying...it was becoming too much to take."
.......
When asked why he stayed in the relationship with #AmberHeard, #JohnnyDepp says it may have had to do with growing up watching his father take abuse from his mother.

I was coming here to say, now that we know it was JD who first suggested taping these conversations, it all makes sense.

IMO, the fact that they are both adult children of addicts is all.

This sounds very much like conversations I had with my best friend, also an ACOA - in middle school…

I suspect very much that Amber got in trouble with her parents as a child when she got pinned down in a lie; and that as a result she’ll do anything to avoid getting pinned down in one as an adult, because it means punishment.

Wow! He is doing so much better today!
Priceless the look on her face when he told about her following & screaming at him in her nightgown @ 3am!
