This has been a serious bone of contention for me.

I've heard so many interviewers and celebrities say to the effect of "If they say it happened, it did".

I honestly can't understand that mentality. How are we expected to believe everyone? It doesn't make sense to me.

this is the logical outcropping, to me, of the enormously misguided 21st century curiosity, “(telling) my truth”.

there is no such thing as “my truth”.

there is “my/their/our perception”; and then there is “the truth”.

#metoo was not perfect but I am glad people now know they will be held to some behavioral standards compared to days of yore. Certainly *someone* should have told Johnny no at some point in the 90s or 00s. Assault/DV happening in a relationship with an imbalance of power doesn't require a person to be marginalized enough to "count".

Me too. I first saw him in an episode of 21 jump street and the next thing I saw was the film 'Cry baby'. Been a fan since my teens and have never read anything about him being abusive or even having a bad attitude towards women. He is not without controversy but that seems to have been business dealings to do with the viper room,nothing to do with women or his treatment of them.
I really hope people begin to see Amber Heard for exactly the rotten apple that she is.

ETA: Actually I think what's worse is when the general public, in comments etc. take it as gospel. Heaven forbid anyone questions the allegations, the keyboard warriors come out en masse.

No one should be believed just because they said something was true. I agree.
The nuance of that that maybe the celebrities don't get, is that accusations of abuse should be treated as believable - respect the claim without immediately bashing the victim (the corollary should be to not immediately condemn/cancel the accused) -- until proven true or disproved. Deeper thinking is just so much less tweetable for them -- if they are sober enough to think more deeply given what we have heard as common behavior here (e.g., communal drug baggie at wedding).
IMO.

A person with an agenda. As J.D. said ambitious, immature publicity seeker, and a self absorbed diva. I have never heard of her until now. And I've only seen one of JD's movies (Edward Scissorshand), but this week I've really come to care for him as a person. He testified she never abstained from her alcohol and drugs while he was trying to get clean. She wanted him impared for fear if he was sober, he would see the real ah. She even had him getting them for her! I could go on, but I know it's common knowledge now, what a common person she is. She's a sick puppy and needs help!!

The person who does this is an ACLU women's rights ambassador which makes me ashamed to be a woman with rights (and also makes me want to retch!).

I don’t know if it’s intended for intimidation.

It may be her goal to revive the sick-seeming early game she ran on JD in the beginning, the ‘presented herself as a carbon copy of me’, in an attempt to, I don’t know, make him want to go easier on her? Fall under her spell again? I think she’s the kind of person who would like nothing more than to fool him into falling for her again only to make him miserable.

She wanted to convince him that they were deathless soulmates. It’s been indicated to the outside world to us multiple times, through the reported words and actions of both since 2015. Bonding them through adrenaline and trauma, IMO, making herself seem indispensable to him.

I wanted to know this too… unfortunately the CourtTV commenting gang completely ignored the questions of how the recordings came to be in the first place, and for what purpose (at least as far as I could tell while I did chores in the foreground). I’ll bet he wishes with all his might he never suggested it now; but he was clearly desperate to pin her down, as she kept telling him that no, she never in fact said or did what he’s telling her she did…

oh gosh, she spent literally four hours yesterday I swear, gazing into the camera with her air of breathless feigned sorrow… unfortunately that only works if you can actually squeeze out a tear, lol.

And only some type of cold fish could spend four hours on the verge of fake tears without them actually brimming over. Nobody can fight them for hours.

i used to say things like this a lot in absentia, about people who had annoyed me during the course of my day at work, etc,

funnily enough, these were the decades before a doctor finally figured out that I needed anti-anxiety meds.

People might possibly be surprised to find out just what type of personality manifestations are umbrellaed/rolled-up under anxiety.
