So many pathetic cheap shots here, it makes me almost want to disagree on the notion that the parents are killers/involved just for the sake of disagreeing with most people here. T&t is disgusting IMO but patsy was life or death not too long before this all began, and any good mom is going to do whatever it takes to squeeze out the time she had left with her daughter. That doesnt make her a bad mother, it makes her different, and while i disagree with the pageant ordeal, obviously it was a part of her past. John disagreeing with it but still going, is what most fathers would do IMO, and i assume most are in that scene in general. The cheap shots makes your opinion seem irrelevant, that is all im going to say, you haters didn't know them. Why is this forum so full of women determined to make their opinions come across as facts?

To say that T&T is disgusting, but defend the Rs for doing the same kind of pageants, doesn't make much sense, imo. The only difference is that with T&T, we get to see the backstage stuff. I was researching the magazine picture that the Rs submitted, and I came across some interesting editorials. They were of course angry that pageants were so misunderstood, and were being used as a cautionary tale, but it was the last editorial that really caught my eye. It reminded the directors to run respectable pageants and to not put up with kids being slapped, and to make sure the kids were dressed age appropriately, etc. So, even back then, at least some people were willing to discuss what went on at kiddie pageants, and just like T&T, it wasn't pretty. moo

And John was TOTALLY unaware of how his children were being mothered??
Absence might have contributed to his ignorance, blind eye might have accompanied his apathy, and Patsy must have even been good at ACTING like a mother when it was necessary to show John how wonderful the home front was running without his caring, genuine fatherly attention on a regular basis. :moo:

I agree. I've been giving my opinion, based on the evidence. It's fact that JB participated in kiddie pageants, and that she was buried in a pageant gown and tiara, and that her parents approved the babette magazine running her picture, after her death. This is all evidence, IMO, and shouldn't be overlooked based on PR's bout with cancer. All just MOO, but I think JB's forced lifestyle, might have played a part in her death. MOO

right. if pageants were 'just a weekend thing for fun', and appearances and perceptions didn't matter, then being buried in a pageant gown and tiara wouldn't have been important -- unless it was truly jbr's favorite thing in the world to do, and would have wanted to be buried like that or something....
otherwise, it seems that she is still being displayed as the 'perfect pageant image', rather than allowing her to be shown in the coffin as the natural little girl - just herself - and that being enough.

No cheap shots at all here, except yours at some of us. The evidence points to the parents. The End. If you choose to discount that simply because you don't like the discussions taking place here, I have to wonder why you are here and how well you have read up on the case. NO one here offers anything other than our OPINIONS, and most of us state that at the end of every post. The entire forum is made of OPINIONS.
Being a pageant mom doesn't make Patsy a bad mother. But covering up her death to make it look like a kidnapping, while trying to deflect the blame on to innocent people who trusted her makes her a bad person.
We don't know the Rs. Thankfully. Do you?

Do you know how many crowns, not trophies, but crowns Jonbenet won? That is kind of creepy to compare trading in a pageant crown for a Heavenly one in such a heinous death.

- If you 'scrab' your child (cutting her nails, removing the dirt from her hands and legs, cleaning her 'private') ONLY the day before the pageant - yes, you are BAD mother!;
- If your baby at 6 years old continue to have rush on her 'private' and butt - yes, you're a BAD mother!;
- If you don't remember when the last time your baby took the bath - yes, you're BAD mother!;
- If your baby's appearance on stage means more than her health - yes, you are BAD mother!;
- If you have NO IDEA that your child has been previously molested (many times!) - yes, you are BAD mother!

.....what more FACTS do you need?...

If ALL of the above are 'cheap shots' for you then YOU ARE BAD MOTHER as well!

I agree with almost everything you said with one exception. Many good mothers have children that were repeatedly molested and didn't know it at the time the molestation took place

I'm so happy genuinely to hear that CPS is involved, especially because of the diet of "Go-Go" Juice (Redbull & Mountain Dew), Roadkill, Pixy Stiks, and Cheese Balls.

I've watched the show. I find them far more loving & supportive of each other than the rest of the people on T&T the worst thing I can say about them is they could seriously use some basic manners.

While I don't agree with their eating habits....surely you're not suggesting CPS gets involved with every family that frequents mc Donald's and the like and give their children soda?

I chose to raise mine differently, but respect the rights of others to raise theirs. I see no physical, mental, verbal, emotional abuse going on. Personally I don't want some government agency telling me what to feed mine!

It's true. Seen it many times and i know first hand. Sometimes pedophiles are so masterful and cunning the child willingly complies and keeps their mouth shut. Children don't tell for many reasons, I knew something was wrong but it took me a few weeks to get to the bottom of it. My kid didn't tell because his abuser told him he would kill me and bury me in the back yard if he ever told. So in his little mind he kept his mouth shut to keep me alive

I completely disagree with you. My mother-in-law was a loving, GOOD mother. My husband's older brother was molested repeatedly by a parish priest in the parish were his mother taught in the Catholic grade school. He kept this CHILD silent by telling him that if he told anyone, he'd make sure his mother was fired from her teaching job (which she needed- having three kids to feed). He also kept his CHILD victims silent by giving them (starting at age 7) plenty of wine to drink. They likely didn't remember a lot.
He later became an alcoholic- no surprise there, when an adult gets you drunk all the time. He died of liver cancer caused by cirrhosis. He left a broken hearted 10 year old son when he died. We found out about the abuse on his deathbed. We never told his mother- she was 90 when he died. You do a great disservice to victims of child abuse by assuming their mothers always know. They don't.

If they really ate roadkill, then that could be the reason CPS is involved. Here, we can legally hunt, but we can't eat what we run over. I don't know the whys, but roadkill has been deemed unhealthy and unsanitary. moo

Not here. Lots of times when people hit deer...someone right there will load it up and take it home. I don't live rural either!
