I was watching the Netflix doc last night and fell asleep during the second episode. Nothing about the case made sense until I had a dream about it.

The blunt force trauma on her head. The garrote. The knots. The note. The stun gun marks. The desperation to pin the crime in the family.

Let’s start with the blunt force trauma. They think it was a bat or a maglight but have no physical evidence for the Ramsey’s items. Who carries maglights and batons? A cop.

Now with the knots and garrote. This stuff isn’t common but I’m sure police study it and would know how they are constructed.

Police carry stun guns so that explains that.

None of the details about the crime make any sense until you put a policeman in the house. I suspect he was a family friend and may have even worked on the case. It’s a long shot but this is where I’m at. In my dream he just hid in the house and waited until everyone went to sleep and then did the crime and broke out. He would have had access to the notepad for the ransom note. Are there any officers connected to the Ramseys that you guys are aware of? Thanks for your help.

I think thru dna it will be solved. The thai guy cld be, esp with the housekeeper id. The decision to stop treatment for cancer by john and dr is so tragic. It reminds me of the terri schiavo case. Still single here

Wow, I never thought of that. The last person a cop would suspect in a case like this, is another cop.

Yes, surely police would be familiar with garrotes - either from their training or from other crime scenes. I don't think its something that the Average Joe would be familiar with, especially not back in the early days of the internet.

Whoever was involved could have meddled with things behind the scenes, planted items, started rumours, to keep the spotlight on the family.

This case will be solved either this year or next year. All the while, RDI's ruined and tarnished this family.

I fully agree that looking at the case from a new angle can reveal intriguing leads. Police officers indeed had access to equipment that could match JonBenet's injuries. Its worth considering whether anyone linked to the Ramsey family had prior conflicts with law enforcement – it might uncover something.Adding to that, knot analysis could be crucial. If they were tied in a way suggesting tactical training, we have a solid direction. It’s worth digging into the investigative reports for specific details – the answers might be there.

I thought the stun gun theory had been ruled out? Stun guns don’t subdue people - they work like a cattle prod. A person zapped with a stun gun goes crazy - the last thing you want in that sort of situation.

But a stun gun used on a small child... I wonder if that makes a difference. I agree that it creates adrenaline, but children have to take lower doses of medicine. Thus, I'm assuming it is the same with volts of electricity. (I don't know much about it, just a thought)

According to stun gun manufacturers at the time, it would not have made a difference. They were not aware of any case where anyone was rendered unconscious by a stun gun. Also at the time (1996), stun guns were not really a consumer thing, it was more for law enforcement use. So the stun guns available to the average consumer at that time were not really all that.

Add to that, despite the attempts of Lou Smit to prove his theory of the stun gun, they never did find one in existence at the time that could match the marks on the body they claimed could've been made by a stun gun, which the coroner noted were abrasions / bruises and not burn marks.
