Watched it and I think KC wrote it for him or at least advised him about going with the "poor me they are all against me" theme backing it up with how it has worked for her for years. What bothers me more is his recent Motion to inspect the Crime Scene when he refused to when LE released it to him and now he says the owner won't return phone calls and he wants the courts to order the owner to let him on the land.

I am not sure why he would play the race card anyway. South Florida is mainly hispanic. Not sure if Orlando is really considered South FL, probably not but either way FL has a lot of hispanic and many are well respected. That is the biggest garbage I have ever heard.

Honestly, I have been appointed losing cases before and you just do the best you can with what you have. You make sure the law is applied correctly, the rule of evidence is followed. You make proper objections and try to show your client in the best light possible. For instance, yes my client is guilty or murdering her daughter but she doesn't deserve the max sentence. She has not prior convictions, she is a good citizen. She is very sorry about the situation, etc.

I still can't understand the whole she is 100% innocent line. Does he mean innocent of 1st degree murder in other words it was an accident. Or does he mean she didn't have anything to do with her daughters death? Big difference. Sorry to rant.

Not to mention that according to WESH, he is NOT the first Hispanic atty in that area to try a high profile case. He is the SECOND, not exactly a pioneer.

His arrogance is beyond belief: "You wan't to know how my client reacted but...I'm not going to tell you, nah nah nah nah nah!" "You want to ask about discovery but I'm not going to tell you, nah nah nah nah nah!" "You want to speak with my client but no one can get close to her without going through me, nah nah nah nah nah!"
Perhaps JB thinks he knows what he is doing. I am beginning to think more and more that he is setting up to move the case to Miami and is trying to attract the sympathy of the Hispanic population there. But, I don't think it will work. Hispanic people (I'm one of them) hate people who harm little children. Children are sacred blessings who are adored and doted on in our communities. Not trash to be dumped while one parties and around with various men.
I think if a change of venue is granted to Miami, the prosecution must take advantage of ZFG's time on the stand and ask her how the specter of suspicion has caused huge problems to her reputation and ability to work. That ought to get the dander up of any hard working Hispanic juror who JB hopes to charm by virtue of his ethnic background and interviews on Spanish-language radio stations.
I'm going to ask my cousin, who lives in Miami and does not speak much if any English, what his impressions of this case are and what the buzz is within the Spanish-speaking community. I never asked.

I think you're right, all of you who have mentioned a change of venue to a high Hispanic population county (Miami). JB is reaching, he has nothing, he's hoping for a juror or 2 who will identify with him. I am wondering if we will hear him speak in spanish to the court/jurors. I wouldn't put it past him. I do think someone possibly advised him to get out there and state he had no media contract at this time. JB's direction that he took for this presser definitely makes me think he's got nothing to help KC out, evidence-wise. He's going to try to charm his way through this one. It won't work.

I sure hope the prosecution is paying close attention, because that's exactly what I think is happening. Great post!

I thik casey's demeanor and conduct after the disapperance of her darling child and after her arrest are enough to completely disgust any Hispanic person in the U.S. or anywhere. He will lose swiftly with a jury made up of such a population. They will be appalled and horrified by her behavior and lack of concern. Hispanic society values children above anything else. Her attitude alone will convince them she must be guilty.

Didn't it appear that JB felt as if he was told to make things right in the media by someone of higher authority? He reminded me of a little boy being told by an adult to apologize to the other adults even if he didn't want to.

The Bar has confirmed it has two open investigations. The first involves Jose Baez's PR firm, Press Corp Media, run by Todd Black. In the past, Baez's spokesperson has released statements to the media about State Attorney Lawson Lamar and prosecutors.
