Jose Baez to read Casey Anthony's Statement regarding her daughter's memorial

  • #201
They may never lay her to rest in the ground, they could possibly just take her home and put her on the mantle.
I personally do not think that they will bury her in the ground now. BC commented a few weeks ago about the thought of cremation because of the worry of grave robbers and such..
I think this will be the only service little Caylee has.

I think so too. I think CA is going to hold onto those cremains very tightly forever more.

Yes, this is confusing. Haven't we been told via BC that the A's don't have the body and can't have a private service because the remains haven't been released by the mother - leaving us to infer that KC the spiteful you know what is at fault?

Now this is an entirely different story. Even a liar and an accused murderer draws the line somewhere, I guess. I guess she wanted to set the story straight through JB.

So then BC has been telling little (big) fibs all this time?

Has BC held a presser yet to refute this? Just logged on so maybe this has already been answered.
I whole heartedly agree! She wanted to out them and make certain people knew BC had lied. She was sick of everyone seeing them as victims. She wanted her a bowl of some chili!!

I think Baez made a huge (PR) mistake with reading this statement.
Casey has been sickeningly silent throughout this entire tragic ordeal and now she wants to talk!???
And there's not even one I loved you with all my heart sweet Caylee.
This half azzed statement just fuels the fire and then some.
Just more proof that she is indeed a heartless monster.

so lies are okay if all you're doing is protecting yourself or trying to get your own way. i think i understand it now. it's wrong for casey, okay for everyone else.

That would seem to sum it up, IMO.

:silenced:

I apologize if this is off-topic, but don't public memorials usually occur after the individual has been buried/had sacred funeral rites?

Why hasn't Caylee been laid to rest? This is so incredibly sad to me and upsetting.

Forgive me if this has been already been answered...

IMO Caylee will not be "laid to rest". She will be kept at home with G and C, in an urn or some other type of container, I just don't believe CA would allow her to be placed in the ground or at a mausoleum. Of course they can have a private memorial anytime.

ETA: I see others agree with me that Caylee will be kept at the A's.

This entire sham is so pathetic. CA and KC are still using Caylee against each other. I think the cryptic talk between KC and LA at the jail were just a preview for us. Now this KC presser delivered by JB.

KC is again being cryptic to her family, letting them know the bus is rolling and they cannot get out of the way. I have said all long both CA and LA knew PRIOR to the 911 call what had happened. Now that CA has gone against KC in burial of Caylee, it will only be a matter of time before JB starts pointing fingers at the other A's.

If KC didn't want her parents to make funeral arrangements on her behalf, she should have thought about selling photos for the burial instead of her defense.

I did notice how annoyed JB got with all the cars blowing their horns while he was trying to sound sincere.

Heh! More chili, please!!!

Of all of the things she could have said and of all of the times and chances she has to talk....THIS is when she chooses to speak?!?!?! And THIS is what she has to say?

For all we may feel about her parents....how dare she throw this at them after murdering their grandchild? How dare she assert her wishes after all her parents have done for her. I can't take this anymore....reverting to lurking mode.

ITA! Jeeesh, ya think Jose would have told her as much!

After all, he IS suppose to be looking out for the best interest of his money...err....I mean client

I disagree with part of your post I bolded. The last thing the defense should want is for the remains to be cremated.

I've felt all along if there was any evidence implicating KC in/on Caylee's bones, they would be cremated. Otherwise they would keep them in case of appeal. IMO of course.

My sentiments exactly, sweetmop.

Exactly. If there is evidence in the remains that implicates Casey, it has already been found. If Casey is acquitted, it doesn't matter what further evidence might be found in the future, she can't be retried. If she's found guilty, the only way the remains could benefit her is if advanced technology were able to find something pointing to her innocence. I can't even imagine what that could be. I don't see any way that it benefits the defense to have the remains cremated.

What exactly was the point of this statement?

What exactly was the point of this statement?

To tell the world her parents are lying? Whether it's true or not, IMO that was the point of the presser.

I had a feeling when the memorial plans were released that Caylee's body had already been cremated.

Gee, Casey. Sorry your parents didn't do what you would have preferred. I think they'd have preferred that you didn't murder their beloved grandchild, ya know?
George and Cindy may say they're still supporting Casey, but I think their actions prove otherwise. Good for them.

Wow, Chilly, if THIS isn't the post of the day, I don't know what is!!!

What exactly was the point of this statement?

For the public to know that Cindy went against Casey's wishes, and once again she is the victim in all of this...

There was that rumor about the cremation weeks ago, guess it was true.
This poor excuse for a family could not even come together to agree on how Caylee could be laid to rest. Why were Cindy and George so adamant on cremating Caylee's remains? Maybe because it is so much cheaper than a casket, tombstone and a normal burial?:(

Someone else has probably already posted this, but my guess would be that they had her cremated so that in the future with new technology, LE wouldn't request that her remains be re-examined by a ME.
