Jose Baez to read Casey Anthony's Statement regarding her daughter's memorial

  • #341
Caylee definitely did not win this round. She is still a pawn.

Exactly, and it is beyond words, it is so disgraceful. My heart bleeds for this baby.

  • #342
That might be an HUGE indication of where Baez is hoping Casey's trial will wind up being held.

IMO

That is something that baffles me..I think that is the direction he seems to be going, but don't understand why considering she accused a Spanish woman of kidnapping her daughter...

It IS.

When my husband and I made our "final arrangements" in advance, we didn't think the difference was worth it and chose cremation.

I think every extra penny George and Cindy can get their hands on has gone forwill go for Casey's defense. Somebody will be paying those experts.

She hasn't exactly put herself in a position that SHE should be the one complaining.

IMO
bold mine

yep, kill your child, throw her in a trash bag and toss it in the woods, then complain when people try to have a dignified memorial and a proper burial. yep, that's our kc!

  • #344
Throwing the family under the bus. Or at least getting a swipe at them

She sure is.

Since nobody's visiting it is the only kind of hissy fit she can throw.

IMO

No wonder Baez was embarrassed to relay the "baby killers" message. I can't even call her KC anymore. She doesn't deserve a name other than "baby killer".

What a sorry excuse for a statment? The first sentence was about Caylee (a lie of course) but the rest was about her wishes. Not wanting a public memorial, not wanting the cremation. An innocent person would have #1 been begging for the reall killer to come forward #2 would be begging to even get a glimpse of the service on TV (instead of deciding not to view it at all).

This was another ploy of hers to boss her parents around and see if they ask "how high" when she says "jump". I'm so glad that CA and GA did everything "baby killer" didn't want. "baby killer" doesn't want to watch it because it will make her green with envy that she's not getting all the attention. How can a Mother not even want to watch the service on TV? Give me a break!! Doesn't that idiot realize that will come up in trial I HOPE

I truly hope the memorial goes as planned without any disruptions. That's the least we can do for Caylee. May she RIP sweet baby!!

I am sure this public statement accomplished 2 things. In kc's mind she made her parents look bad by going against a grieving mother's wishes for her child, and it gave an "excuse" why kc isn't requesting to watch the memorial from jail: she is mad at her parents for having this public memorial , so she is boycotting it.

You know, KC will never hear her little girl's name announced at church milestones, school graduations or a marriage ceremony. Never feel that lump in her thoat when the name she chose is spoken at a moment that honors her child. The one, and only one, time when Caylee Marie Anthony will be spoken of as the honoree in a public ceremony is tomorrow morning. And her mother will be boycotting the occasion out of spite for her grandmother. Poor, poor little Caylee - she deserved, every child deserves, so much more.

I think it will go smoothly. The church has 14,000 members and they all know how to behave. I didn't realize before what a huge congregation it is. There's your filled-to-capacity respectful audience right there. The event will be a huge and peaceful success. And the Grunds and others will have their own elsewhere. Everyone will be happy.

I realize that all I am doing is repeating what has been said here a few dozen times but I have to say it, too. I am mystified at the attorney who would advise and allow a client to make such a public statement. Pre-written no less, so not even accidently blurted out under stress. I am not even being critical. I am just confused by it. What was the legal purpose? What benefit was gained? Clearly I am missing something.

There was a discussion about it on Issues tonight. They don't think this was a good idea for KC/JB. Perhaps our resident video experts will be able to put up a link to a clip in the future. One exchange:

Drew F, criminal defense atty: At some point you have to remember you're not marketing Coca Cola, or Bounty Paper Towels, you're getting ready for a criminal jury trial where your client is looking at spending the rest of her life in jail. It's enough with the statements, whatever she says to her attorney is part of their conversation. It's bad enough that we all have to hear what she says to her parents, in private, but now to take these statements and perhaps alienate people, 'cuz certainly you're not making any friends with these statements, you are just alienating a certain group of people.

JVM: This is a battle of wills playing out before the public at the worst possible time for this particular defendant.

That's true,it isn't any of our business,no matter how emotionally tied we are to this case. But than Jose puts out this statement, concerning things that should not be any of our business,to the public. The public will respond....

I wasn't referring to the statement. Chilly was talking about BC and all the lying about the remains and the hopes for privacy. I was agreeing with Chilly. As far as the accused goes, I believe that is all fair game, and I can't say enough how much I appreciate those sunshine laws. As far as I am concerned, anything that she has done or said we should be able to tear apart completely. But I still think that GA and CA (as much as she has irritated me) should be allowed to grieve as they see fit and should be able to wait as long as they need to to deal with this, if that is what the hold up was. That is all I was saying was none of our business. KC placed herself in the position for it to be everyone's business when everyone had to go find her daughter, while she partied and painted her nails in the A/C. Not being snippityto anyone here tho.:blowkiss:

BINGO! We have a winner! I have no doubt that's the reason. Cremation is a few hundred dollars and a funeral w/casket, vault, burial plot, headstone, etc. costs THOUSANDS of dollars.

In Florida in 2005, over 48% of deceased bodies were cremated. By 2010 the figure is expected to rise to over 50%. I don't believe money is always a factor, nor is burial the "norm" any longer. The loved ones of many people posting on this thread have been cremated. I'm sure it's not simply because they wanted to save a few bucks.

I did not watch the statement from JB. Frankly I could care less what KC thinks. She should have no say in what plans are made for Caylee, even tho she is her so called "mother".

I feel KC gave up any rights to Caylee when she put her in a trash bag and tossed her away. This girl is just pure evil and has no soul. She wants what she wants when she wants it and cannot figure out why she cannot get her way. Even if Caylees ashes are buried KC could still go visit if she ever gets out of jail. A coffin has nothing to do with anything. I wonder does KC think there was still an actual body to put in a coffin?

KC is still very jealous of her baby girl even in her death. Jealousy is why Caylee is no longer here, that and spite for CA.

This whole case just makes me so sad. I think KC does feel she will get out of jail after the trial. She feels she is not guilty and she thinks nobody will find her guilty.

Both my husband and I plan to be cremated and our ashes handled per our wishes. They will not be buried. Our children know what we want and it is in writing. I am a caregiver for my younger brother who lives in a nursing home here in Tampa. He has made arrangements for his body to be donated to the medical school for research and after 2 years he will be cremated and his ashes returned to us to be buried along side our mother. There will be no kind of service for any of us. Money is not the reason for our choice, it is just how we choose to do it and not put our children through so much when the time comes. To me, cremation is just the easier way.

Erin Runnion held a big beautiful packed to capacity service for her murdered daughter Samantha. It was in our magnificent Crystal Cathedral and led by Rev Schuller. it was a heartbreaking public event. For those of us that followed this case it was a privilege to see her honored, respected and laid to rest. It was the most moving memorial ever.

But if they can use this control issue to explain why she never told her parents (mostly CA) she was missing?..She's definitely going to get nailed for waiting those '31 days'..Almost everyone on the planet can't fathom why she did but it doesn't help explain her behavior during this time..Nothing possibly can!

Nobody would buy it though since CA was the one that called 911 the minute she knew Caylee was missing, and not just at the nanny's.
IMO, it shows that KC wanted the control. She proved this when she said she thought she could find Caylee on her own and thats why she didnt tell anyone, especially LE. Then she said it was that Caylees safety was at risk if she told anyone.
We know KC didnt want the police involved....she wanted just one more day. So it would have been 32 days, or 33 ....or never is KC had her way. Casey had control for 31 days before CA handed control of the situation to LE.

I'm so glad to hear it. That case broke my heart. Her poor mom. So terribly sad.

YES, it was JBean, I've mentioned her Memorial in a couple of posts.

However, there was some 'flack' afterward about it by some.

I think KC was right...the memorial service for Caylee should have been private. It's a shame that people use this occasion to unleash such hateful attitudes toward this family.

Hold the presses...

BC saying Caylee not cremated?? Natisha on NG reporting it was unclear. Oy vey.

  • #358
Maybe this is Casey's "answer" to BC saying her parents "didn't know" if Casey was guilty or not.

In Florida the soil is mostly sand. You do not see many basements in Florida for that reason (water table is just below the surface). Most people are cremated or buried in an above the ground mausoleum. Loved ones worry about water getting in the casket. Facts here folks, just the facts.

:crosseyed: Geee...which is it? Although I would trust BC over Baez and Casey.
The wheels on bus go round and round...
