Josh Duggar Admits Molesting Girls As A Teenager in 2006 *report released 2015* #4 *Dismissed*

I want to make sure everyone is sitting down -- and if you're taking any heart medication, you might want to just scroll and roll past this message. It may be rather shocking to many of you here:

"RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that Josh, 27, has not shown up to the rehab’s mandatory meetings and church services.

On Friday, August 28, eyewitnesses spotted Reformers Unanimous “students” pulling up to the facility’s affiliate, North Love Baptist Church, in a van for a local chapter meeting of the group, which promotes recovery from addiction through Bible studies.

However, Josh was absent from the large party."

Big surprise, I know. But to be fair to Josh, the therapeutic value of the treatment at that facility is probably about the same as watching an episode of '19 and Cringing'.

So is Jessa actually striking out against Josh for molesting her (and growing a brain), or is it just popular now to say what a hypocrite her brother is and keep her relevant and in the limelight without any actual awareness that she was victimized? Although I have compassion for her being a victim of sexual abuse, I gotta say I'm floored by her lame comments after visiting the Holocaust museum (having the Chutpah) to compare genocide to abortions!!!

I suspect that JD is not towing the fundie line and therefore the shunning is beginning. Either he is/was resistant to rehab or not following the rules to the letter. Growing up in a fundie religion where forgiveness flows freely except when someone brakes rank then its time to shun. At least that was my experience. idk

I must admit I HATE the patriarchal system as a whole. But these cults that promote an extreme patriarchal system like this one really burn me up. I feel for the Duggar children, they have been brought up to be totally subservient and tolerant if they are girls. Their lives are lived in a narrow chasm, looking down on those who do not follow the bible. Without any disrespect meant, I have found some of the most hypocritical people in the world purport to live their lives following religious systems. When you have a system that is so patriarchal and misogynistic it is easy to hide abuse. You just need to look at the scandals that have hit the Jehovah's Witnesses. Josh Duggar cannot ever be condoned for what he did. It was and as abhorrent. He has shown he has no respect for his mother, father, sisters or his wife. However he's been brought up in a system where the man is king.

Any system that attempts to create a divide between people so that they are alienated from the wider world does not sit easy with me.

I grew up in a religion that encourages that kind of separation. The claim is that it's for the protection of the soul, and for women, their purity. Super creepy, IMO, but it includes a lot of "don't you want to protect the ones you love? Isn't it wonderful that your heavenly father cares about you and wants you protected?"

Brainwashing about how you aren't being brainwashed.

Just a guess here. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka Mormonism? The Miracle of Forgiveness? Chewed gum, crushed flowers, nail in board. A Marvelous Work and a Wonder?

Of course, you don't have to answer. Just thinking you went through what I had to go through many years ago.

I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time. I'm wondering if it was a decoy story, that he was never there to begin with.

Ding ding ding! I so wonder what gave me away lol

"Heavenly Father" As far as I know, only Mormons/LDS refer to God as "Heavenly Father".

I don't think so. I grew up in the Bible Belt and knew no Mormons, yet heard my religious peers use that term.

I assumed it derived from the Lord's Prayer, "Our father, who art in heaven..."

"If you hate anyone because of your faith you're doing it wrong."

Don't know where it originated but I find it very true. :twocents:

What ??? I thought *most* all Christians did, especially in prayer. I did and I was raised Presbyterian and didn't give it a second thought .

:dunno:

Too many branches and denominations for me to figure out. Never heard a Catholic or Protestant refer to God as "Heavenly Father", Only "God" or "Jesus Christ". I really don't care what anybody does, OT anyway.

Maybe other religions do use 'Heavenly Father', but turns out Sulamith was right :)

If you google "Heavenly Father" you'll primarily call up songs and many, many LDS references. So, while other religions may use it, it seems as if the expression has some special significance for the LDS.

Danica dishes the deets:

"I had no clue who he was," Danica said of their alleged first encounter. "He just looks like your average, everyday fan."

Dillon alleges that Josh introduced himself as a fan of her adult film work, and claims that he "kept approaching me through the night, saying weird things like, 'Oh you are so beautiful.'" "I believe he had had a few drinks at the club," Dillon speculates, admitting, "I wasn't really staring at him or watching him cause my friends were there with me."

Dillon claims that Josh offered her $1,500 to have sex at the hotel she was staying at in Philadelphia at the end of the night, which she allegedly accepted. She also alleges that their liaison quickly turned aggressive once they returned to her hotel room. "I tried to be sexy and seductive," Dillon said. "And then he was like, 'No, let's get straight to the point,' and [we] took our clothes off, took his clothes off, and he was very rough with me." "He threw me on the bed and, in all honesty, though it was consensual it more or less felt like I was being raped," Dillon alleges.

Dillon alleges he forced her to perform oral sex on him. "I never said no, I am going to have to reiterate that, I never told him no," Dillon said. "But I did push him back and push him off and say that's too rough that's too rough." "As he finished what he was doing he just walked out of the room," Dillon claims. "He tossed his cash onto my dresser and just walked out."

According to Dillon, Josh allegedly approached her again at a different night club in Philadelphia a month later, and apologized for his previous behavior. "He walked up to me and he said, 'I am so sorry for the things that I did to you, I am not that type of person,'" Dillon claims. "And I believed him, you know? It was a sincere apology. But to be honest with you I shouldn't have probably."

Dillon claims that she and Josh had sex in her hotel room again, but she was still worried that things might turn rough. "I had my phone under the pillow with 9-1-1 already dialed in," Dillon claims.

Allegedly, Josh was "a completely different person the second time." "Everything he had to do was like he had to be in control and had to be in power,” she says.

Reminds me of all that Westboro Baptist "loving" preaching to gays about how they cannot be saved, because, well, wouldn't they want to know?

So far as I have experienced the loving father (or loving parent for some of us) image is pretty universal across Christianity. Alternate images are God as shepherd, vineyard keeper and so on. Images derived pretty much from the daily life of the folks who recorded the various works that were ultimately gathered into the Bible.

So is Josh Dugger really going to get "real, therapeutic" help? I feel so badly for his wife and children.

If there is a silver lining in this, maybe a few heads will come out of the sand because of this story. Wishful thinking?
