I think you’re right. Until now, I always figured Jim Bob to be reasonably shrewd & somewhat intelligent. I was very surprised to hear he was “impossible” to subpoena until just recently - I mean, come on.

Seems like they’re treating this as just another episode - the molestations and Ashley Madison being #1 & 2, respectively. Do they truly not realize how serious these charges are?! And wowzer - refusing to read the report (common request) and “I’m not going to allow it.” Just wow.

Love that judge’s comments! The only thing better would be if there was a female judge presiding, but this guy doesn’t seem to be impressed by the “celebrity” of the duggars.

Thanks for that, Zella. Jimbob is such a liar. He didn’t “take him to Arkansas State Police”. They never went near a police station. After sending him to sexual harasser Bill Gothard’s cult compound for some time, on the way back, they stopped off at a buddy’s house for a talking to. The buddy was a state trooper. Who is now serving 56 years on a child charge.

Wow. So Josh molested Jane Doe 4 while she was sitting on his lap during BIBLE TIME. I can't believe he has gotten away with this for so long. I really hope he is put away for a long, long time.

I am wondering if what the article is referring to as “Bible time” is time these children spent alone or in a group. Why would girls three years younger than a young teen Josh be sitting on his lap during a Bible study? My opinion.

I hardly doubt these were his initial instances of inappropriate behavior. He is gross, and the parents are as well for turning their eye. My opinion.

That incident was reported as part of the initial coverage when news of the molestations broke. The girls who were closer in age to him were the ones molested in their sleep. What's new about this info is the abuse went on for much longer than was initially acknowledged, starting when he was 12 rather than 14.

Yeah what we already knew about the incidents was always really bad, but the new details that surfaced yesterday were truly appalling. I'm hoping his history of molestations is allowed in the trial.

I can't help but wonder about the girls being asleep. I would think the molestation would have woken them. Perhaps they've blocked out the abuse.

I agree. In most circles that would be referred to as rape. I'm not sure what the laws are in Arkansas though.
