After the verdict was read, Jim Bob hugged Anna. The Sun reports that Anna looked “stoic.”

Justin Duggar and his wife, Claire Spivey, were in the courtroom. Justin reportedly cried and was emotional when the guilty verdict was read.

Hilary Spivey, Claire’s mother, and David Waller, Anna’s brother-in-law, were there as well.

I agree. She didn't win "Courtship" lotto! I hope that her family recognizes the potential for a postpartum depression. She recently had a baby, and now this? The stress that gal has had to deal with, married to Josh Duggar. No one deserves it.

It wasn't a pat on the back. I see judges do this all the time. It's generally to temper emotions and the defense. They were asking for him to be out citing his compliance. The judge knows hie compliance is irrelevant to the seriousness of the charges.

I've never heard a judge say this to a defendant in all of the trials I've watched. Saying nothing would have sufficed, IMO.

She also filed for Lexington Contractors, LLC on July 17, 2020.

Josh is listed as an officer on the business, while she is the registered agent.

The new business ventures come after Josh’s used car dealership, Wholesale Motorcars, closed last year.

I did the math for the federal sentencing guidelines and here's what I came up with:

Base offense 18 U.S.C. §§ 2252A(a)(2) and (b)(1) = Level 22

No intent to distribute - decrease 2 levels = Level 20

Victims under the age of 12 - increase 2 levels = Level 22

Masochistic, sadistic or portrayal of violence - increase 4 levels = Level 26

Use of computer - increase 2 levels = Level 28

At least 300 images, but fewer than 600, increase by 4 levels = Level 32 (I calculated this count by adding 65 images + 200 attempted deleted images + 1 video = 75 images = 340 total images).

She would have to put her kids into day care, preschool and so on, and I'm sure that idea doesn't jive with the brainwashing she has been subjected to all her life. Anna needs to ask for help. Start by getting situated, get some therapy, get a job, etc. Those kids need her to wake up and do better for them. How long will Josh be in jail?

@CharlestonGal won't the guidelines also include enhancements for prior bad acts?

The way I read it, the prior bad acts had to be convictions in court, which he does not have, so you can't add official points for that. But, the judge has discretion to sentence closer to the high end (151 months) without having to legally justify it.

If he wants to go over 151 months or under 121 months he has to justify his reasons for deviation from the guidelines.

So? Is that worth her children's well being? It's time to get out of there with those kids. She needs to wake up and stand up for her children. Is she going to take hand outs from Jim Bob and depend on him for the rest of her life? What kind of life is that?

She needs JB and her LCC's to survive financially. Josh is gone so her kids are just as safe there as elsewhere. Her attitude toward Josh not being guilty is the same there or elsewhere.

I don't know how the line of succession works in their particular cult. With her headship in prison, that position will fall to someone else - probably Josh's father or one of his brothers to act as proxy headship over her and her children until Josh is released from prison.
