Journalistic Ransom Note

  • #161
John Ramsey told CNN that he understands that LE looks at the parents first and that he would cooperate fully with them. After hearing this...three detectives from Boulder flew to Atlanta to meet with the Ramseys. Upon hearing this...the Ramseys hopped on their plane and flew to destination unknown.

How's that for cooperation?

This scenario would fit the 'forgiveness' comment by JAR, so SOON after the murder.

From Steve Thomas book: page 57...

We asked him (JAR) to put his thoughts on paper, and he wrote a document that brimmed with feelings about his little stepsister being murdered, giving us a glimpse into his world. He caught out attention immediately by writing, "I think it was someone that had intimate knowledge of my family and how we lived day to day. Why would they leave the ransom note on the back staircase instead of the front?"

Good question, I thought. How would a stranger know which stairway Patsy Ramsey would come down that morning?

He ridiculed the idea of a small foreign faction being involved, was certain the crime had nothing to do with his father's company, and questioned why a ransom note was left at all. "Why did they ask for $118,000? I could pay that amount," he wrote. Someone was envious of their wealth and thought of the Ramseys as "rich bastards", he said.

John Andrew told us that whoever did this was probably uneducated, were amateurs at kidnapping, and had seen the movie Ransom, in which the family of Mel Gibson's character was a "spitting image" of his own. He did not believe anyone came in through the broken basement window. They had a key, he surmised.

In one comment, he described his stepmother as "flashy" and guessed that the killer might be someone close to her.

John Andrew also buttressed the comments of the housekeepers husband, Mervin Pugh, and former nanny Susan Savage about the house being difficult to navigate. "You don't know your way around real easy right off the bat...You have to open lots of doors. It has lots of ups and downs," and the basement entrance was hard to find.

I Camper will address duffy's post in blue.

I have never read nor heard any information substantiating your comment.

Camper, I don't know why this is not including your whole quote. I found a link to john ramsey running for public office. In your post you questioned my comment on j.r. running for office.

Some have theorized that the ramsey's knew who murdered JonBenet but the people were so big and/or politically connected j.r. didn't have the clout to go after them. They believed j.r. was running for office to try to accomplish the ability to then pursue the other dudes that did it.

This is the link to john ramsey running for office.

More pure speculation. Maybe if the killer was "close" to the R's than they know the R's use the term "and hence" sometimes. Maybe it's one of the things that ticked this nut case off about them. Maybe thats why he/she/they included it.

I'm really tiered of people who say the note is fake becuase a kidnapper would not write this or a kidnapper would not mispell that.

Maybe this person was a immature amateur with just a lot of hatred for the R's. Thats why the RN is so full of needless words and emotional rage.

Hey, and what do you know, he's selling a book.

I think it was someone who'd seen a lot of James Bond plus other action movies and was trying to convey a supercilious tone in the note.

Indeed interesting and compelling. I would very much like to hear Mark McClish's take on WHO did the crime.

I was curious about 'who' Mark McClish was so here is a link to prowl through.

This link covers his take on questions and interviews done with of prime suspects in famous cases.
