JP did buy a new phone when they returned from Puerto Rico but it was the first day that the new iphone had gone on sale. IIRC, he just wanted a new toy. I don't believe his phone was missing.

Are you sure it was the first day the IPhone was released? I find that hard to believe because anyone wanting one that day had to wait in line for upward to 12 hours all across the country to get one. I just can't imagine JP was able to pull that off on the day of release since he was out of the country and unable to stand in any line for any length of time.
