Death? Why?
Nowadays death penalty is just a joke. We have more than 2,000 criminals sentenced to death but this year only 22 were executed....

It's a sickening travesty. Here in California we have inmates who were sentenced to death in the 1980's and are no closer to an execution date then when they arrived on Death Row.

One of them, Ricardo Rene Sanders, was sentenced in 1982 for the brutal massacre of several people at a Bob's Big Boy restaurant in Los Angeles in 1980, where the victims were herded into a walk-in freezer and shotgunned to death. He's still sitting there working his appeals, all of which have been denied, but his lawyers keep filing more of them. Travesty, and it's also costing taxpayers untold amounts of money.

Cant say I was impressed with the prosecution whom won 2 trials in spite of themselves. While they had strong cases I still feel fortunate they both ended up with new law school grads, seemed anyway
Why did they not impress you? I was impressed with Hunter and Ross. And they got exactly what they came for - a first degree murder conviction (4 hours of deliberation is lightning fast in a DP case). And then a recommendation of DP in 3 hours. I don’t see how they could have done any better than they did.

Well, those taxpayers are also voters. Since they have elected the legislators who have put that system in place in California, they are getting what they’ve asked for.

AW would have never caused the scene at her mother’s if she knew ahead of time.
Not true. She acts that way over simple things. The best way I can describe it is if you tell her to do something, she wants to do the opposite at times. If you tell her an opinion, hers will more than likely be the opposite. Maybe that doesn't make sense, you would have to know her or somebody like her to understand.

@shutterrrbug, as you are a person who clearly knows her, I defer to you. Thank you for your candor in this post and the subsequent one.

I guess I have always wanted CWW to do a lie detector test because I feel he is being less than truthful all the way around. Can I ask you a question? Do you think he disclosed fully?

I don't want you to see WS as a place that you need to avoid. My apologies if I upset you.
Oh, no. You absolutely did not upset me -- the entire case upsets me. I wouldn't mind seeing CWW do a lie detector test and to answer your question, from what I know and what we all know, MHO would be yes. I cannot even believe I am about to say this, but to this day, I am still shocked by the horrific events that unfolded that night and the planning and just every aspect of it. CWW was never a person I would have ever suspected of doing anything remotely close to this, which is so scary to me. You think you know someone. I can say this; CWW LOVED AW. I think he would have done anything to protect her, if she needed any kind of protecting. However, I honestly think he took the plea deal for her in the sense of he did not want to drag her through this, as she had nothing to do with it. She had already been through so much, her daughter had just died and she had already had the heavy heart of her other sweet daughter's brutal murder and trial years prior. This is just my opinion, from knowing the dynamic of their relationship. It's hard to hate people you once cared for, but I DO hate what CWW did to TS, her girls, his own children, his own parents, TS family and to AW.

I also wanted to add that at that time, AW was going to defend CWW, regardless if she knew the truth or not. In the kitchen, she was feeling on the defense and has been a, "defensive," kind of person forever. Sorry, I am having a hard time coming up with the right way to phrase what I am trying to say! I am just saying, IMHO, I think its extremely possible for her to have reacted this way to her mother and to the source, because of the kind of relationship they have at times. I have spoken to all three who were there in the kitchen, many, many times and this is simply my opinion.

Thanks for the response. I do think it is ironic (wrong word but I don't have a better one) that CWW knew the pain that AW endured with her daughter's murder and trial but set out to do the same to another family. So, he would protect AW AND, would, in a cold and calculating way, agree to do the same to Teresa based on MS's words. Uggghhh, the depravity and the hidden cruelty is so depressing to me. AW is so lucky he didn't turn on her.

With JRR, I do think his gullibility was exploited by CWW. I believe that CWW may have been looking to surround himself with a scapegoat. WE all need to be safe from CWW, JRR and MS.

That is simply not true. Shortly after the majority of Ca voter's voted to actually speed up the execution process, the newly elected governor took it upon himself to ban all executions, and then promptly disassembled the death chamber at
San Quentin.

SHUTTERRBUG :), bbm above. Oh yeah I have known people who are "constant contrarians" ie, they will always disagree, do the opposite and challenge everything you say. They usually wear out everybody except their closest family members who have to encounter them. (Oh the joys of dysfunctional relatives!)
I have been curious about the text sent by Cww at 11:36PM, to AW's phone minutes after he (&Jrr) killed Teresa Sievers in the brutal & total physically involved manner. It was a loud and frenzied bloodlust...(now known) ugh...I shudder every time I try to imagine their actions.
Have you ever wondered what the 'TEXT" contained? Has AW ever told anyone (other than LE) why she had that burner/disposable phone, when she got it, and when was the last time it was used? After 4 years, has she moved on and finally decided to get a divorce? And of course, what does she think of MS?
Hey, ya' know my name is IQuestion-a-lot...lol. Thank you for posting. (And take your time as to what you feel comfortable answering....because there is so much.)

No, it is true. The governor is an elected official too. If enough voters/taxpayers don’t like what he did, they can make sure he only serves one term and then elect someone to undo what he did.

Very true and happy he gets a needle for Christmas though I'm ok at this point if he decides to take a cowardly way out. But maybe just me. I felt more often than not they kept going in circles, kinda unprepared at times. Again, probably just me being nitpicky lol idk. Just how I took it. Meant no offense to anyone of course. Think I'll go start a fire in Mark's honor

NOTVERYBRIGHT:):) First of all WELCOME to posting on WS!!! I think you are very bright, even if your opinion differs from mine from time to time. The DP is a hot issue for many and difficult to talk about. I am going to share something I experienced. A wonderful friend (almost 40 years ago) was killed in a "murder-for-hire" scheme. The man who orchestrated the crime was sentenced to death...and although it took a long time, he was EXECUTED. And I have never had one day of grief over his execution. Maybe I feel that way because for me, it was personal.
IMO everyone should be outraged at MS giving Cww the code to the office building, suggesting killing Teresa as she walked out and anyone walking with her....would just be collateral damage. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Mark Sievers is truly a monster. ****ps Throw a log on that bonfire for me, too. IQ

I am so sorry for your loss IQuestion! How horrible! I am so glad the perpetrators were caught and punished. What a nightmare to have lived through something like that.
Yes everyone should be outraged at MS!! He is absolutely conniving and outright evil.

well, death row inmates get a lot less privileges, and the why is because Florida has death for a penalty and the jury voted that way. It might be a joke that they don't get put to death soon enough,to me, BUT, they still don't get the same privileges as say someone with LWOP. To me that's what he deserved.

My goodness. I can’t bring myself to celebrate putting anyone to death, but I pray for these families.

I wouldn’t know if he celebrated his wife’s death as I wasn’t there. And if he had any part in it, then he had this coming. I’m not defending his actions, and certainly not his behavior. I just cannot find it in myself to celebrate putting someone to death. Deserved? Possibly. But you won’t see me making jokes about it. At the end of the day there are too many innocent people hurting from this to think there’s any positive outcome.

They do have the death penalty in Florida, but it takes a long time. MS is about 50 now. At his age he will likely die of old age in prison.

It's unlikely he will ever be executed.

In Mark Sievers' case it means LWOP plus solitary confinement. If MS had received plain old LWOP he would spend his days playing cards and watching movies with his fellow inmates.

But now he will spend the rest of his days all alone in a little cell. I like that.

Thank you for explaining some of the privileges. I'm sure there's more. That is the main reason I like the death sentence for MS.
