Embalming fluids are poisonous. But any changes they would make to the deceased body would be known and expected. I am not sure what the effect of embalming fluids on a live person is. But it does take a fairly large amt. to be lethal, because I can remember a time when marijuana used to be dipped in embalming fluid not for poisoning but to enhance the high.
I believe illegal drugs were tested for in the autopsy. But I am not sure how many they screened for. Usually they only screen for the most common.

Dr. Baden says it was homicide is what Greta is reporting. :O

[FONT=&quot]There was no mention of poison. He clearly states this was a homicide and that the laceration on her head could have knocked her out. They found bruises on her hands and chest, nothing on her arms. He said that she could have been held under the water by someone stronger, face down after being hit over the head. The interview was vague.

I just watched Greta too - Dr. Baden said it was definitely homocide but I didn't hear him mention anything about poison. :waitasec:

Now that the results have come bad homicide, Steve is suddenly saying that Kathleen had a boyfriend for a year and half before her death? Why does this sound like convenient BS to me?

Interesting about the bruises on her hands. That wasn't mentioned in the first autopsy was it?

I don't have cable, reading comments on Gretablog, Kathleen found sitting up, was face down 10-20 hours, dead as long as 30 hours.

I get bad vibes from Steve. I don't like him. My instincts tell me that he is not being truthful. I remember hearing him say on another day while be interviewed by Greta that while observing the fight between Kathy and Stacey and Drew in her front yard that his(Steve's) wife wanted to go in the house and get Kathy's "friend". He wouldn't let her do that. Kathy was yelling for someone to get this "friend" and he told his wife that the police had been called and not to go in the house after the friend. At that time it was a "friend", now it's a boyfriend. For those of us who make it a habit to notice "controlling behavior....take note at the fact that Steve's wife has not appeared in an interview. Is Steve a control freak also?

What I heard Dr. Baden say about poison was that the first toxicology tests didn't look for any poisons and that now they will test for poison. I didn't catch his whole interview on Greta (because I got a phone call), but I did hear that. I don't remember hearing any speculation or anything being mentioned that caused him to suspect poisoning - just that they are now going to test for it. To me, it just sounds like they are going to be more thorough now than the first autopsy, which makes sense.

I think if Drew did this it had to be pre-meditated murder. He thought about it, thought about that million dollar insurance policy, didn't want to pay child support and that was the motivation.
It's all about motive. Who else had a motive? If she did have a male friend I am sure that this person's identity is known. That person will be suspect also I would suspect. But what would that person have stood to gain? Nothing, if you analyze it.

Cat,

Do you have that link? I know I watched it but I thought that the wife wanted to go in after the kids.

cricket,

You are right, he began his interviewing saying they collected tissue, teeth, bone and were going to run some test that hadn't been ran before. He also hasn't had a chance to review the photos taken. I think that is good that he hasn't seen them yet.

Baden is the best of the best.... I am glad he is involved in this.

Cricket, thats what I heard too, that they will test for poison because it wasn't done the first time.
Initially, I heard Mike Brooks, sitting in for Nancy, say that the family was told possible injection of poison. So, Baden might have said that to them, but it isn't what he told the public tonight. Anyhow, we shall see.

Curiosity, Steve seems to be just like Drew to me. I wonder how many DV calls were made to Steve's house?

that's interesting. I didn't watch Nancy Grace tonight.

I wonder if her family is paying his fee - or if Greta is paying it (given that she had someone filming the autopsy).
