I think there's something wrong with her, but I don't know if there's a name for it. Yes, she's spoiled, selfish, a control freak, a criminal, probably a narcicist and a sociopath, but why is she those things? because of the way she was raised? or something medical? I have a niece who is very much like KC and I've spent years trying to figure her out. She was raised by her grandparents and has never, not once, been made to suffer the consequences of her behavior. Once when she was about 12, a mother at Mcdonalds complained to the grandma because she was hitting her 5 year old son. Grandma got furious with the mother for telling. typical reaction. She has been caught stealing, being mean to the neighbors, being promiscuous with the weirdest guys she can find, (one was in trouble for beastiality), all of her pets 'mysteriously' died, she would go to viewings whenever a child would die...she's just a mean person and runs that house. In her mother's defense, she did try to discipline her at times, but the grandmother wouldn't have it. The grandma treated my daughter, her grandaughter too!!! like a rival. IDK what's going to happen to her. She's 21 and her grandparents are getting old. I don't think she'll ever change. I don't think she CAN change. Was she born this way? I don't think so, but somewhere along the line, her brain got messed up by the way she was raised, and I truly believe it's irreversible. I think it's too late. anyway...that's my 2 cents.

If she's killing animals I'd have to agree it's probably "too late". I was a child who never had to face any consequences, had everything given to me.. I never held down a job or learned how to do my own laundry or how to cook or clean. My mother made excuses for my behavior my entire life- nothing was ever my fault-ever! I threw a desk at a teacher, my mom went and yelled at the teacher for "making Laura mad like that", swore at the Principal in high school.. didn't even have to tell the man I was sorry, my mom had me back in school, facing no punishment, the next day. She did my homework the rare times I brought any home. I got arrested for the first time at 15, my mom showed up and screamed at the cops for arresting me.

I started stealing her pills when I was 12 years old- she never confronted me. Started dating a 28 year old man at 15, she never told me no, she welcomed him into our home as if it were a 16 yr old I was dating. My brother and sister quit school, she made them both get jobs "it's either school or a full time job" is what she always said.. except when I quit school she said nothing of the kind.. She bought my cigarettes, gave me gas money- whatever I wanted. She caught my sister in a parking lot drinking alcohol with her friends, she beat the hell outta her. I came home drunk and she said nothing- acted like she had no clue I was messed up.

But she had this distorted view about who I was and if I contradicted her she'd go crazy. When I told her I was having sex she laughed, insisted I was joking .. she couldn't handle the idea so she lied to herself and convinced herself I wasn't doing it. When her husband told me he thought he was in love with me and would I kiss him so he could try and work through what he was feeling for me, see if it was real.. I told her and she told me I was over reacting, that he was just confused because she was getting older (she was 16 years older then her husband) and I'm just a younger her and I shouldn't "flatter myself". She hated when people would get emotional or sick, we weren't allowed to cry outside of our bedrooms, said she had "no desire to watch you blubber" or "fake sick". I was encouraged to lie about who and what I was, I was taught to shut off my emotions. I never had to come face to face with any of my faults, was not responsible for anything and was never held accountable. So I allowed myself to become exactly what I thought she wanted me to be, my "fake self".. a cold, unemotional, drug addicted criminal who relied on everyone but myself to take care of me.

For some people when you are raised this way it's hard to believe you are loved (I don't care what anyone says, children crave discipline and responsibility and when you get none it makes you wonder why the adults in your life aren't giving you those soo important things) which leads to making you feel as if you are unlovable. I always get frustrated when I hear people saying "There's lots of people who have been raised that way but they went out and changed it, got themselves out of it" because for some of us it's not so simple to change your thoughts, your learned behaviors.. not everyone can come out unscathed, not everyone is capable of overcoming. Except for the baby killer part, I can understand why Casey became who she is. I have no sympathy for her but I can empathize. But I also know that every one of her actions, her behaviors were a choice- a choice made by a person with a crippled mind, and faulty reasoning skills but a choice none the less. Her upbringing didn't cause her to kill her child (if she did), it caused her to become an empty shell but she chose to remain an empty shell.

Her parents failed her in a big way but ultimately she failed herself.

As having taught special ed kids in the past, ICA does not have Aspbergers, that is how I spell it. More like Social Behavior Disorder. She simply does not believe that the rules of society apply to her...nuff said.

If you want a very close example of an Aspberger's personality, you must need to YouTube the SHELDON character from BIG BANG THEORY. He has all the social quirkiness of the syndrome. Casey is no where near being Asberger's (I have had experience with autistic children) or any Autistic spectrum disorders for that matter. JMHO.

It's probably more helpful to look at REAL people with Aspergers on youtube. You'll be surprised at how they don't all fit that stereotype.

If we are to believe Nurse Cindy, her daughter was not diagnosed with anything and I would hope with CA's training she would be apt to look after all aspects of her children's health.
The only Dx CA ever got for KC, and KC was not present to be examined, was that KC fit the bill as a sociopath.

yes she does. She says she wants to have children, but only homosexuals. Her gay friend told her he wouldn't wish that on anybody, and he was dead serious, but she even practices by dressing her male dogs up like females...paints their nails, dons them in pink ruffles. And you know, having a relative like that affects the whole family. I was so freaked out by how much my mother in law favored her, that I wouldn't let my daughter defend herself against her...just trying to avoid her getting jumped on, blamed, and popped. So, without realizing it, I became part of the problem and caused a whole new set of problems. She's 22 and to this day has trouble defending herself. It didn't help that my dd is beautiful and my niece, well, she looks like she deserves to look. About my nieces pets...this started when she was still a kid and I hate to say this, but I won't be surprised if she kills somebody some day. She actually hangs out at the pound several times a week, 'just to look'. I think she enjoys their suffering. Have we heard much about KC's childhood and her interactions with her cousins, etc...? Because this young woman has had some serious issues and I doubt they just started at the time of her daughter's death. Her pretending to have a job had been going on for some time. IMO, pretending to work takes just as much effort as actually going to work, so that made absolutely no sense. Plus, it would have cut down her need to steal! I'm looking at one of the pictures of her wiping her eyes and it reminds me of a video of just ICA and George- the one where she says she wanted to talk to him alone. It's just him and her and he starts out with "if there is anything you want to talk to me about, anything at all"- which then sends her into a whole contrived bit about how much she loves him and he loves her more than anything and how she just want's her baby back. All the while wiping about fake tears......trying desperately to get GA on her side. This man, whom she clearly hated, is who she needed to win over at that moment. He was her weak link. I can't find the tape (looked for 30 minutes and now too frustrated). I have it, just can't find it. I pretty sure it's when the FBI sent him in there. Not absolutely(her word) sure of it- but I think so.

George Anthony was asked as well if his daughter was all there mentally by a member of the media. He responded, "Oh yeah" and then goes on to say she doesn't take drug and she doesn't fly off the handle.

I don't think of "brain development" as being related to Casey's intelligence. I think it's possible that AF is referring to a possible brain anomaly like Asperger's or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. jmo

or sociopath....could be her frontal lobes aren't developed..if I were the SA's I'd want proof, not just lip service...that could be the very difference between life and death for her...JMHO

I have seen two very disturbing sides to Casey. The first one is the person we know so well and love to hate. She is manipulative, fake, takes on a superior attitude towards her family and friends, and is evil incarnate. There is nothing likable about this Casey. She has no redeeming qualities and is certainly responsible for the death of this poor baby girl.

The other side of Casey is equally disturbing. She is a child. A small, meek, kind-of likable little girl. You have to look hard for this Casey, but she is there. She comes out every once in a while, usually around JB. I will try to post a link to a video of one of her early hearings. It was in January, of 2009, I believe.

Before the hearing, the microphones are on and you can hear everything that is going on at both the defense and the state's tables. You can hear an exchange between KC and JB where they are talking about using a pen. KC says something like, "But I like this one better anyway..."

She sounds, for all the world, like a sweet little 12-year-old who is being silly with her daddy.

I think this 2nd personality is the one that JB sees, because it is the only one she has shown him. She is socially and mentally immature, and that is apparent if you watch this video, and see and hear some of the exchanges between client/attorney (daughter/daddy, young woman/older suitor).

I would almost guess, these two personalities are real and alive in KC. Although, the latter personality could be an act, it seems real to me.

Think about the puppy-dog looks KC has been giving JB lately. She almost makes me feel sorry for this little girl part of her - almost.

In any case, I think she is very disturbed and, at least a part of her is very, very young.

Anyway, you can hear KC talking to KB about the pen somewhere between the 2:30-2:40 mark. Watch the entire exchange between them and realize this is a month and a half after Caylee was found. Very strange.

Oh the good ol' days when JB could actually look at his client. Its a very different relationship now!

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but Jesse Grund insists she was perfectly NORMAL while they were together..It wasn't til after they split up that she changed dramatically..As he has said numerous xs in media interviews "I don't KNOW this Casey".

I have heard of certain mental disorders that sometimes don't show up in a person til around their 20's..Could this possibly be the case with her?

eta..I just watched one of those old JG videos (with NG 2009) yesterday, before I even saw this thread, cos CNN added it (along with NG & Baez from 2008) probably cos of the trial.
