I bet she did eat it! I never even thought about that, I was so busy wondering how some toad came in and stole it away. Well it is better off. poor kitty.

Have you seen mother cats eat their young and not leave any evidence behind (fur, blood, etc.)?

Yes I have. Cats are VERY clean animals. I still bet the poor thing died and either hid it self or the mother hid it.
