Circumstances of Disappearance
On 09-14-2010, Quinones-Flores left Topeka, Kansas with an associate in a 1997 gray Dodge Caravan with unknown Kansas plates. It is purported that the associate stored 2 boxes in Quinones-Flores' van to transport to Mexico for him. Quinones-Flores was returning home to his wife in Mexico and never arrived. His wife suspects Quinones-Flores is deceased, and she is not interested in case updates. The associate was driving a separate vehicle, and he reportedly makes regular trips to Mexico delivering clothes, furniture and money to family members and returns with other property to be delivered to the states. It is possible that Quinones-Flores is not a correct name, or he has changed his name.

Possible connection with the drug cartels? Not explicitly saying the guy was running drugs or errands for a crime group, could also have simply been a random killing (which has occurred in Mexico's highways). The fact that the wife stated she is not interested in case updates could mean something. I'm guessing the disappeared was a Mexican national, going by the fact that the write-up stated he was going "home to his wife in Mexico". I wish we knew info such as: did he regularly come to the 'States? Where exactly in Mexico was his "home"? Did he have family here in the 'States?

Also, who reported him missing? NAMUS really should at least specify that there are no additional details, this type of write-up and case info is so vague and barebones as to not even make a difference whether it exists or not. I know they do good work, but it can be frustrating combing through pages of these.
