Yes, they have. There were some abandoned duplexes that were searched, too. I am hoping he got a ride somewhere and is safe and warm! The thing that concerns me the most is the family works closely with the homeless community and so it doesn't seem likely he would blend in there without being seen.

Is there a neighboring town he could've gotten to? Maybe he did get a ride into that town/city? Not being familiar with that area I don't know how close/far towns are to where he was last seen.

Possibly. Derby and Haysville are on that side of town. There was a possible sighting in Haysville, but so far it hasn't panned out. My husband is concerned he did get a ride somewhere and maybe in a field near that somewhere. It would be nice if the PD would put a helio in the air and search but I suppose they don't know where to begin.

They should begin where he was last seen - at that wall he climbed over.

I would also think it a good idea to repeat foot searches in that area. Have dogs been used?

That is what they have done and covered the area twice. Dogs were brought in before I became involved but I think they were gods in training so...

I am heading out. There is a confirmed sighting of him (I know I am straying a lot from TOS on this thread but it is HARD!) two days ago. I will update when I get home. Oh! And I have to give more love out to my husband and son, they decided to head out to look again after work, and don't even know I am coming. Hubby=swoon!

I am thinking he is still alive and somehow ended up with another homeless person staying with someone with a home.
Thank you so much PerfectingPink and to your hubby and everyone for searching for this man. I feel so sad for anyone dealing w/dementia and health problems and ending up homeless, many times by their own choice even though family members watch over them and would take them in.
Seems that is the case in this situation since it was posted his family works closely with the homeless population.
Praying they find John today!!

I saw the sighting posted on the Find Facebook for John. Don't have the link but it's on here. Hoping to goodness it is the one this family and John need to bring him home.

Thank you! Oh some one spotted a man in a green jacket, walking. They called 911 and police caught up with the man. No further news on that yet. Hope it was him!

Thanks perfectingpink for all you are doing to help find John and keeping us updated on the search. I haven't posted here, but I have been following along and praying for John and his family.

I am back. I am not sure it is necessarily a confirmed sighting but the theft prevention officer at Wal Mart says she is 100% sure she saw him on Friday and the detectives will eventually review the footage. So, we drove around that area for a few hours hoping to spot him and passed out more flyers as well. We will go back tomorrow and keep looking in that area.

On a funny note, my husband and I realized how lucky our son was to be introduced to Broadway by his parents. :scared:

This is what we have been thinking might have happened, too. I PRAY this is what happened!

I did confirm tonight that there were absolutely no searches done by LE. None. They said there is no indication of foul play so there is not a lot they can do. I am very pro LE but I have nothing nice to say about how they handled this case.

If LE is not conducting any searches, maybe the family should contact an independent S&R organization? Can't hurt can it?
