Again, that charge is ATTEMPTED capital murder!

Terry67401- You and I have a serious disconnect. I am sorry if I have contributed to this but I thought we'd cleared this up when I originally posted the definition of Capitol Murder.....
And that was a while back so I am confused.

I'll look everything up and post so we can hopefully get back on the same page.

I wonder if he was actually friends with the guys in Gypsum where he was arrested, or just casual acquaintances who didn't know of his background, and they told him he could hang out there for a couple of days, not knowing he had a warrant out for his arrest? Bet they will think twice before being so nice, since he got them both arrested! He may have heard about the party and crashed it.

That's a good point glf. (about them befriending him for a few days not knowing his history.) Which makes me wonder even more about JJB. Did he just "appear out of nowhere"? How do you stay out of trouble and then one day decide to stab 2 guys? And then, how does he
get to Gypsum where he was arrested from the stabbing crime scene? That's quite a distance.

Terry, I went back to view the Sheriff's email response to you regarding JJB's charges, but it won't come up. (even when I clicked on it)

Can you find that and repost, please. Attempted Murder makes sense but the Attempted Capitol Murder makes no sense for the stabbing charges in Salina. I wonder if the SO didn't make a mistake in his response to you.

I don't think those particular charges have anything to do with Lori's murder.

At this point, there is nothing in the charges (other than what is listed next to his booking photo) to indicate he had anything to do with LH'S murder. I am hoping, however, that the PD and SO looked at JJB for her murder. Just too many coincidences to discount but I'm moving on.

Nothing new concerning Lori in Salina Post. However, have a couple of men locked up who sure could raise some suspicions, R/T charges that definitely show they are not nice people! JLA, and JVG. I probably need to do some digging.

I don’t recall this 8/8/16 news article that mentions JJB. . .
“Saline County Sheriff’s Office does not believe those crimes to be related at this time.”

From two months ago:
http://www.mcphersonsentinel.com/news/20160808/family-offers-reward-for-info-in-murder

Authorities are continuing in their investigation of the death of 57-year-old Assaria woman, Lori Heimer.
Posted Aug 8, 2016 at 11:01 AM
[...] “We’re still looking for any information that may lead us,” said Lt. Michael Ascher of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office. “There’s over 200 leads that we’ve either investigated or followed up with, so we need the public’s help.”
Residents of the area were concerned that similar cases in the Salina area could have been committed by the same person, John James Brown, who was incarcerated by the Salina Police Department. However, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office does not believe those crimes to be related at this time.
“Given the nature of the crimes in Salina, involving knife attacks, we have investigated that potential lead, but there’s been no arrests made on him or anyone else at this point,” Ascher said. “We are currently investigating any and all leads coming in surrounding anyone for this case.” [...]

Great find SeesSeas, thanks!

A few questions have been answered but.......JJB still sits in jail and it doesn't seem like anything is happening. No bail set, no nothing. Strange.

Didn't he have a court date this week or is it next? And no answer on the NCIC hit? I wonder if that' is what is next to his jail photo.

James Brown has court this week starting on the 19th. It is for the stabbings of the two guys here in Salina.

I really don't think John Brown had anything to do with Lori's murder. That's just my opinion though.

Where Lori lives is in the country. But, the road she lives on is a very well traveled road. Her house is easy to see from the road - it is not hidden behind trees or bushes. I don't feel people have lost interest. I believe the answer is right there in Assaria. No one wants to say that though. Everyone wants to believe they are all good people because they are mostly farm families. Well, that may be true but, farm families have drama in their life as much as anyone else. They also have financial problems like the rest of us. As harsh as it sounds, and I'm sorry if this hurts someone, I believe it was either the husband, someone else in the family, or, a friend of the family... Why aren't people wondering where "the tons of evidence" went? Could it be that it belongs to the family or close friends and that's why no arrests have been made? No one wants to suspect those people.. I don't either but what other conclusion can we come to? The husband admits he was there for lunch.. Who's to say he didn't kill her then? Maybe she didn't die immediately.. Maybe that's why they think she died in the afternoon... No one has said for sure the time of death... Do we know for sure he doesn't have a girlfriend? No, we don't.. Maybe it was a friend of Lori's who was jealous of her? Jealous of the family and her dog business?? And, we can't leave out other members of her family.. Whoever it was, had to know the families schedule.. They had to know no one would come there during that time. They had to know who the cars belonged to that were parked there.. They had to know for sure that Lori was alone in that house. And why was she in the bedroom? She wouldn't go to her bedroom with a stranger there. She wouldn't go in the bedroom if someone came there to look at her dogs.. Being killed in the bedroom is a very personal crime. The way she was killed is very personal. I'm truly not trying to be mean or cruel. I'm just trying to make people see that there is a reason no one has been arrested yet.. The investigators do not want to look at the family because they are known to be good people. They don't want to look at anyone in Assaria because they were supposed to be Lori's friends.. Don't people wonder why no one has stepped forward to give information to collect on that reward they are offering?? They are now trying to get Nancy Grace and Joe Kenda involved in helping. These people will not just overlook the family or neighbors.

I would go along with other people in the area being responsible but not family. Can't slueth family.

There were 5 people (men) interconnected around the 4th of July and around the date of Heimer's murder: JJB (homeless), Sheldon Freeman (212 S Penn, Salina, Ks, victim of JJB stabbing), Joseph Mullen (212 S. Penn, Salina, KS, also victim of JJB stabbing) These 3 men were known to each other.

The remaining 2 men were arrested for aiding and abetting JJB'S escape from arrest for the stabbings of 2 men: Dominic Aita, 30 of Salina, KS and Adam J. Spaeny 29, of Gypsum, Kansas. These 3 men were known to each other but it's unknown if all 5 men knew each other.

What was JJB doing at 212 S. Penn and why did he stab 2 men?

How did JJB get involved with Aita and Spaeny? Friends, casual acquaintances.....what? And why would they assist JJB in escaping arrest from The Saline County Sheriff?

The vehicles described by Lori Heimer's husband and others, do not strike me as the type to be able to run at I-70 speeds. Since the vehicles were easily identifiable, would the driver's risk traveling on well known highways? When looking at Google maps, there are HUGE barns within a 20 mile radius that could easily hide these vehicles.
Would the killers use these vehicles if they were known by someone in the area? Family or friends?

If these vehicles were related to the crime, where did they park?
They had to be parked for some length of time, somewhere.

And if the perps were going to snatch the dogs, were they planning on putting them in a crate on the back of an open air truck? Where were they going to take them? How would the dogs have been fed? I don't know what dognappers drive but these 2 vehicles sound...very haphazard.

Why is there so much secrecy surrounding this murder or so little information put out or leaked?!

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

I remember reading that article and they don't believe JJB is connected with Lori. All that says to me is they haven't MADE a connection yet. It doesn't rule him out. And I doubt JJB victims are guilty of the crime either. I know SOMEBODY is guilty and I don't think it's family. Until it is proven JJB is not guilty of her murder, he will remain at the top of my list.

Last I knew, it has not yet been divulged who provided the descriptions of the vehicles.

I am glad you keep a keen eye on me SeesSeas. In reading the article from the McPhersonsentinel.com it said,
"witnesses who observed the vehicles".

And from there I went back to the very beginning and in one of the early posts, someone mentioned they had heard it was the husband who had seen the vehicles. But there was no link.

So I went back and reread a good many of the articles and nowhere does it state "the husband and
others" or, the husband. The only place I saw "witnesses who observed the vehicles" was the McPhersonsentinel posted just the other day mentioning JJB.

I may have inadvertently combined the 2. So sorry!

A mod needs to strike my remarks re the husband as well as the remark on the 1st page of the thread.

Not sure who the mod is on this thread.

I believe it was mentioned somewhere that he was not the person who saw those PU's. I think it was somebody who lives in the area. Don't quote me on that one tho, I could be confused!
