I hope you can find that quote from PB. I thought it was maybe RMT who had the great line that the only place s/he could say for certain he is not is "my house & the moon, anywhere else is fair game". I honestly thought it was a TXEQ-ism from training with them.:dunno:

About cadaver dogs. Someone shared an article that search & rescue dogs will find dead bodies, too. In maybe the OK bombing, (I need to find the post) handlers and firefighters were hiding in the rubble so the dogs could find "survivors" and not get discouraged by only finding remains.

Also, it seems like a hit from cadaver dogs would be kept confidential. It seems like it has in other missing kid cases. Is it too controversial? Like it would bias the public to know a cadaver dog hit without more solid proof? I don't understand that, myself. And maybe I'm wrong. I'm thinking of Dylan Redwine...did they release cadaver dog hits info before they found remains? We knew cadaver dogs hit in DeOrr's case, but it was mostly discounted.

I've been posting about Lucas with hashtags and such on Instagram, and I just saw that Elizabeth Smart has started following me! I'm going to check her page, I hope she has shared the flier. If she hasn't, would it be weird to tag her in another post of his flier and ask her to share it? I need advice on this one.

I can't advise on this but thank you thank you for this:tyou:. Fingers crossed for Lucas:heartbeat:

About the house(s). Wasn't there two houses? I seem to remember reading some posts about they maybe had moved recently so IMO I think both houses would be important to check.

Not to have any disrespect for VI information because we all know they have been very helpful but based on past cases perps sometimes do place bodies in crazy places like their own homes even. Sometimes in really bizarre places like inside of a wall and then will go so far as to put new sheetrock up on the wall and paint it so nobody would even know a body is in the wall.

The point being is we dont want to outrule anything until boy is found and if she did move at some point then there is a 2nd house that could be a place to consider. She may have kept an old key and could have had access to the old place.

Some people have a hard time letting go of their old places and if she was looking for a dumping ground it may have crossed her mind about her other home if she still had a key. Like claiming the boy walked home on his own to the wrong house or something. Not sure if its even close enough for her to try to claim that but I do think the other home should be searched as well as her current home.

The sad thing is we the public cannot search inside of homes without LE assistance so we would have to encourage LE to do that sort of searching. Not sure how TES does that sort of thing.
If LE has already searched both houses then it may be hard to try to convince them to do a second look.

Numerous times a body is found in a place that was already searched. Many times this happens. I think its because during the first search the searchers go quickly through the obvious places and then a second search is done more methodically and more patiently. That is why a second search often finds a body in the same place that was already searched.

Bottom line for me is it would be well worth the effort to look again in any houses past or present. And of course nearby those houses.

No, not weird at all. Go for it. She saw what you were doing, she clearly supports it, she followed you. Make use of it. Elizabeth is just amazing.

I posted last night an article, search and rescue dogs are trained to search in a particular way- some track scent trails on ground, some are air scent (like Blue) ...all SAR dogs will alert to remains but cadaver dogs can discern the chemicals released by a deceased body very soon after death, meaning if the body was dead only a bare few minutes before it was moved. They’ll also hit on as small amount as a single drop of blood. Their training is amazing.
SAR dogs like those used in the OKC bombing and 9/11 rescue efforts, are trained to find survivors and they become discouraged only finding remains so their handlers and firefighters will hide in the debris so they can find living beings. Which to me is the most amazing thing- just typing it makes me cry.
This is one of the articles I shared and it has lots of good info, including the anecdotes about the SAR dogs used in OKC

They had recently moved from an apartment to the house - the move was on 2/7. I’m not sure if a ‘turn over keys’ date was ever mentioned. LE did say they searched in the new home, old apartment complex, and both neighborhoods but I’m not aware of just how extensive the old neighborhood search was.

Previous residence was an apartment. I really think the location was simple and quick. Such as a trash dumpster at a large complex *ahem* or commercial location. He could/would have been gone before even reported missing. MOO

ETA: I'm not saying they shouldn't re-search. It's always a good idea to cover bases.

And in that vein- there are lots and sadly I mean LOTS of dumpsters just open and accessible in their neighborhood

Thanks. That helps to know the previous place was an apartment. Less likely she would use the inside of the old apartment.

The surrounding areas around the old place she may have been familiar with so for any parks or land checking we probably need to keep in mind the areas that are close to the old place as well.

I believe they taped the podcast yesterday. I don’t think it has been edited/released yet.

rescheduled again? I know the 1st one was rescheduled, for yesterday I think. I'm not finding anything online except a write up from the 16th. (crime online)
