Let’s take FindLucasAllen’s advice and move on from discussing JH and EG’s friend. If she makes the news, we can talk about her then.

What is going to happen at EG’s court appearance on Monday?

Why is she having court Monday? She's been arraigned, gave a plea of not guilty right? Assigned an attorney. He filed to lower the bond. It was denied. Is this an evidence hearing?

This is right in my wheel house...this one may be taxable.
According to what people stated up thread, this random person (I don't use FB, so I don't even know initials) is controlling the bank account the funds are being deposited to, she wouldn't have a tax implication. When she hands them over to JH, she can only gift him $14k in one year, under the IRS code, anything beyond that is subject to taxes, payable by the reciever, for gifts in excess of the amount allowed under the current tax code.

Actually, you can gift $15,000 per person per year. And the person donating the money has the onus to pay the taxes on anything in excess of that, not the receiver.

You are 100% correct. I was thinking 2017 allowable gifts (Yeah, I know, it's 2018 now, I'll catch up in my brain eventually). I also originally wrote the post different, and it didn't make sense, so I tried to go back and correct it to be more clear, and messed up the verbiage on who has the tax liability. My apologies. I said receiver, as in who originally received the funds, but with all my retyping, that was definitely not clear. Thanks for clarifying. I should probably be sleeping. 🤦

Have we lost our way a bit and gone astray? I haven’t seen much about finding LUCAS. the is secondary, although very interesting. It might be good to think about what EG And her lawyer might try on the 16th.

They will either raise the money or they won’t. And as in other cases LE can be asked to intervene. Getting back to Lucas and finding him might be good.

I agree. The discussions about JH have led to disparaging comments about ancillary “characters” in the and FB saga.

A preliminary hearing and status hearing are similar. Since her charge is a misdemeanor, I wouldn't expect an official preliminary hearing... usually that is before the plea is entered, in a felony case. But similar things are likely to take place at a status hearing.

I'm guessing the court will only address the current charges. More charges re Lucas would be a separate case. The fact that she is pregnant with a child she obviously intended to deliver and used drugs .....could that be additional charges in this case? Or, would she have to be so far along to say she was endangering another? (unborn fetus)

They will bring in the PI to look for Lucas etc,,,,,,,

I kind of think a pi would be a good idea , because he would be paid to focus on just Lucas , where le and others have a bunch of other cases

This hearing will only be for the current charge. I wouldn't expect any additional charges unless she is released on bond, and then LE may show a few card they're holding, and charge her for something additional, so she is rearrested as soon as she bonds out. I'm not familiar enough with the laws on the charges for unborn fetuses, etc, and that also likely varies widely from state to state.

I could add that my little knowledge of the law in this area would make me think they'd have to prove EG was aware she was pregnant at the time of the drug use, and possibly even prove it caused harm to the baby. I believe in 2017 the first person was convicted of child abuse for drug use whole pregnant, when after birth it was determined the drug use had harmed the child.

Thanks. I have strong opinions about how a mother should take care of her unborn fetus so I was hoping they could loop it in with charges. As I see it she endangered 3 children in under 2 hours and she was the only one responsible for all of them at that time! And then Lucas went missing!

FWIW, I in no way think there was ever a plan to use the to bond Emily out. Shortly after Lucas went missing, a lot of people began messaging JH, JO and other family members. When a child is missing and parents are desperate to find their child, they will often turn to anyone who may be able to help. I don’t fault them for that - it’s human nature. Sadly, in cases of missing children that become high profile, the “grief groupies” come out of the woodwork. They don’t necessarily have bad intentions, but when they are thrust into a position of moderating a group and responding to comments, they simply have no experience in diplomacy. Things spiral out of control, harsh comments are made, screenshots are taken and all hell breaks loose. The next thing you know there are a dozen groups that each have a different agenda. The focus is no longer on finding the child, it’s on one-upping the other groups.

The parents of the missing child are forced to choose a side in these groups and these groupies feed them info and screenshots from other groups.

I advise all families to avoid messaging and texting with people who they didn’t know prior to the child going missing. In most instances they ignore my advice. This is one of those cases. In regards to drama and contention, this case is in the top 3 worst that I’ve been directly involved with.

After Lucas went missing, JH clearly made some mistakes trusting people who gave bad advice, created unnecessary drama and took the focus off of finding Lucas.

If any of these people are actually interested in helping, they should put down their phones, pick up a pair of gloves and assist with the physical search for Lucas.

A little less talk and a little more action, perhaps???
