I'm still pondering the fact that EG's attorney is the one that asked for the continuance. I do realize that attorney's do this all the time for any number of reasons. But this continuance is a full month out. I can't imagine that EG is happy about another month in jail before she sees a judge. Then again, she probably knows she will get time for the current charges, and is ok with putting some "time served" on the books. IMO JMO IDK... Just frustrated...

The next child endangerment hearing is May 14, but when is the CINC hearing?

What is CINC hearing about?? The little baby girl? Should I put this on my calendar too?

I don't understand all the legal stuff but I wonder if there is some strategic advantage to the defense to wait for the CIN hearing to happen first?

I was so happy to see such a great turnout this morning for Lucas, the little boy everyone has fallen in so much love with! I only wish E.G would have pulled up seeing everyone on Lucas' side.

I always thought the confusion about the footprint in the snow came about because little Joe's case (Where it was stated) and Lucas were both missing at the same time. Those following both cases may have mixed up some of the details.

It was sunny and in the 60s/70s the day he went missing. No snow. (sorry if this was already addressed - I'm behind too)

If it has already been posted sorry behind today as usual...

["We're still searching for a missing, five-year-old, little boy," Officer Davidson said. "That's why we continue to plea and ask our community, if they saw somebody running with no shoes on a couple days ago, or they saw something suspicious, something out of place that might be related to this case, please call us.]

Maybe EG's feet were really dirty or scraped up.
Who knows...that's just coming from her initial lie to LE.

I think it's worth putting on your calendar, but I wouldn't expect there to be cameras in court as it is about the 1-year old child of EG (and JH).

The only thing I have in mind is the hearing for Sherin Mathews' sister where her parents were in court and they invoked the 5th amendment to every question as answering those questions could be prejudicial for them when it came to their trials for Sherin's case.

I don't know how similar the CINC hearing is to that?

IMO the continuance by her attorney gives LE more time to work on case for LH

ALSO....maybe we could please clear up the issue about "footprints in the snow" that keeps being stated. There was NO SNOW....temperatures had been in the 60's to 70's between February 14th and the 17th.

Thank You raeann, because I keep seeing the the running in the snow comment also and that just isn't so. We have no idea what LE meant by their comment. I wish they would clear that statement up though.

Little Joe didn't go missing until April 3rd and Lucas went missing Feb 17th not at the same time. jmo

I’m refering to his ability to draw benefit under social security and that he may have been eligible for speech benefits. Most children that I’m familiar with do draw this benefit so they can enter school and later the work force without an impediment. May have been something his family didn’t obtain for him.

Cleftresources.com

It qualifies for a type of SSI.

You're correct. I just never seen where there was a foot print in snow in reference to our little Lucas, but did see it in little Joe's case.

Her attorney requested the continuance

They might be negotiating for her to give up information as well. Delays often happen under those circumstances

Me either?? I think it started at a comment about being able to qualify for speech therapy.

No it’s a program under the federal social security benefit disability program. . SSI. a child can be considered disabled and draw benefits. I would have assumed LUCAS was receiving benefits as when a child is born and has a cleft palate a social worker notifies parents. They get a check AND speech therapy from the feds.

Some states offer help through Medicaid. And for federal purposes if parents act , it can be considered a disability. I have no bias I have a failed back and was on disability.

I apologize. I made the assumption he was getting assistance. I won’t refer to it again.

I cannot believe we are at 18 this is cruel for Lucas and his family. (FLA and their extended family ) I have thought of your child FLA with comfort from afar. Unfortunately as horrific as these events are as adults we know their is evil lurking. But young ones should never have to experience this confusion about a cousin, sibling or friend. I’m so sorry he has not been found yet but effort from awesome members here, police and the locals will see him found. Let today be the day.

This is a hopeful thought! Thank you!

I have been wondering about how it is EG can withhold such information without cracking! It amazes me that anyone can sit there and just lie through their teeth...is it that they believe their lies at some point?

Serious question. So, behind the scenes in jail for EG...what is going on right now?
Can LE question her whenever they want?
Only with her lawyer present?
Does her lawyer meet with her often?
I just wonder how hard they are pressing her right now?

No way could I sit there and not give up everything I know.... which is why honesty, ethics and morals work best for me!

Groups call attention to missing Wichita boy

Members from several local groups carried signs outside the Sedgwick County courthouse Monday morning, calling for a continuing search for a missing five-year-old boy.

I imagine they thought like the rest of us that EG had court this morning, before is was rescheduled.
