You're not off. I'm just done with JH "not commenting" on anything so he doesn't have to comment on EG directly. Remember when Lucas was reported missing and JH got angry that the family was talking about the abuse and he said something along the lines of that not being relevant? He's made it clear that he chose EG over his own son. It appears he's continuing to do so.
Even a generic, "I want justice for my son." Would work for me. But, I suppose if they haven't told him a cause of death, he may still be drinking the "died in his sleep" Kool Aid.

I am confused....
A question asked by man after police arrested Glass a few hours after finding Lucas's body, saying it was glass who led a private investigator to exactly where the body was.

Monnat says that isn't proof of anything.

"I think it is dangerous to leap to conclusions about the allegation that a person supposedly led a private investigator to the child's body and, therefore, the person is guilty," says Monnat. "That sounds like speculation."

I don't understand how a person could NOT be guilty in this situation. DM told her that he knew Lucas was dead and that LE would eventually get a death certificate and come after her. She told him that LH would be under a bridge....how could EG not be guilty?? What is their thinking?
Its legal mumbo jumbo.
Its expected.
Dont pay attention to it.

Shes already blaming someone else Im sure. NINJAS. A man and a woman.
Thats expected too.

A little o/t, but I can't sleep...again. CPS is obliviosly overwhelmed. I've been seeing some FB post asking that people contact them directly if they need help with their kids. I am a person that could accomadate. Thoughts?

I'm sorry to be a cynic, but it's my nature. No good deed goes unpunished. You have a good heart, obviously, to even consider such a request. But for your own safety, please don't trust anyone on the internet you don't personally know. @WildcatRunner could comment on the legal side of things, but this is not a road you want to go down. Call the police if you see people posting that they can't take care of their kids. Some of them may be frauds and criminals and some may actually need help with their kids, but the system still has to take care of that situation since human beings are involved.

I just have the urge to pray for the safety of EG's older kids. Is school still in session in Wichita? I know that school begins and ends at different times around the country, so I don't know much about the Kansas area. I pray God keeps her away from them, I wouldn't put it past her to drive by their house or school to at least get a look at them or to try and talk to them. I saw that she left in a white SUV in the video- strange enough, there was no driver in the seat when she got into it, and the camera turned away so we didn't see who drove her away. I wonder if that is her SUV? Anyhow, going to say an extra prayer for her boys tonight and her daughter, too. I felt better when she was in jail, at least she couldn't harm them in any way or God forbid, try to take them.

I keep thinking of Josh Powell and I keep telling myself that she isn't going to be able to get to her kids the way he got to his. At least I hope she isn't. I have to believe they are protected from her.

Wichita let out two weeks ago. But I don’t think her boys are in wichita...
Also their dad, IMO has worked very hard to protect them and I don’t think he’s going to let down his guard for a second

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm grateful that Marshburn did what LE was apparently unable or unwilling to do. He found Lucas. I think there have been people who have been (and possibly still are) looking for personal glory from this case, but I don't get that vibe from him at all. I followed the Kelli Bordeaux case and I never felt he looked for Kelli for personal gain, either. He's rough around the edges, given that he's not a trained PI. He's essentially a bounty hunter who discovered he's good at finding bodies that LE can't or won't look for. I don't see where he's jeopardizing the case, but that's just my opinion.

What concerns me, is the audio tapes of her confessing to the PI. Giving those to NG, to play on her show, seems very problematic, in an ongoing, open investigation. JMO

No more so than surveillance video shown on the news of a robbery or such I would think

I don’t believe there’s an actual confession in the tape.

Oh God, I hope so. What scares me is the kidnapping up here on the 4th of July back in 2003 of two kids who were found murdered in Ohio. I was on my way to work (I worked overnight at a rehab) and had to pull over several times as cops whizzed by me that night. It was a revenge killing because their mother had remarried and was pregnant with her husband's child. Even since then, people like Emily scare me, after murdering a child. Here's the case I am talking about- to this day, I shudder every 4th of July late at night- all those cops cars and sirens..........

Could ANY OF US GO INTO COURT AND PROVE IT BEYOND ANY SHADOW OF A DOUBT?

Not with what we know the evidence to be at this time. Hiding a body means the person probably is the killer but it's not proof. Proof is required to convict. I hope the investigation is amassing proof as I write this.

BTW, a shadow of a doubt is acceptable. Reasonable doubt is what we want to avoid.

I think my husband, mother, and most of my friends would tell you it's hard to argue with any attorney. By nature, we're all quite opnionated and hard headed ;) (But yes, everything he said is spoken like a true defense attorney).

BAHAHAHA, Wildcat! So very true. When people asked me why I was going to law school (looong ago), I'd wink/grin and say, "I love to argue and I always think I'm right."

Mr. Monnat has quite the C.V. and I wonder who is paying for his considerably skilled services? It wasn't he who picked up EG, as I believe I've seen stated here, as well as on several MSM sites. He is definitely the poster-boy for boilerplate defense speak!

ETA: ScarlettLin has kindly pointed out that Mr. Monnat is a local talking head and wasn't speaking as EG's attorney of record. Please ignore my wondering who is paying him to represent her. *will bother to read article before making comments in the future...so much for being right, eh? :)

I think EG has something on JH so he is keeping quite on all subjects. It may be as simple as EG intimidating JH that she will report a situation involving JH and he thinks he will be in trouble big time!

I feel certain that EG could scare JH without a second thought.

I believe Mr Monnat is just a local legal go to for talking points with the news when no one is making official statements...he offers opinion

I don’t think there is such a thing as an ‘Editor’ anymore.

What qualifies as dying of “national causes”?

Smh.

If the police have surveillance video of a crime, and they show it on the news, to ID someone, that is not a problem when it comes to the trial.

But if this the defendant spoke to the PI about the crime, and about her finding a dead child, and then hiding him under a bridge, and gave info leading him to the body----that makes him an important trial witness.

One thing that happens with witnesses who are about to testify---they are grilled by the defense about their relationship to the suspect and their motives. If a witness sells a story to National Enquirer, for example---they lose all credibility.

So I worry that this future witness might go not too many tv shows, and do too many press interviews, and taint some of his credibility if he looks like someone with ulterior motives.

If he hands over this tape to Nancy Grace, where the defendant gives him all of that private, secret info about the death of poor Lucas, will it make him look less reliable/credible/professional?

Ahhh, thanks so much, Scarlett! I didn't read the article before cracking up at Wildcat and LilTxns comments about the nature of lawyers. It's taken hours to get caught up (which I clearly still am not) and my eyes - and brain - are bleary. I'm in NC, so am dragging my parts into bed now. I appreciate your giving me the heads-up about Monnat being a talking head.

(I should have mentioned in my earlier post that one of the first things law school teaches you is humility! I'm definitely not always right, even though I am, sadly, still pretty bullheaded.)

I just read that, too. Grrrrr and LOL! Plus, there were one or two other pretty big gaffs. It's embarrassing.

I thought I read that he handed over a tape, in which she does make some incriminating statements, to be played in tomorrows NG show.

I may be wrong....?
