Reminder:

While it is fine to vent and express shock and mixed feelings, including anger, about EG's death, Websleuths does not condone celebrating violence or wishing violence upon anyone, including criminals and alleged criminals. You are not required to feel sad about EG's death, but please do not express joy about it here on the forum. She has 3 minor children who will grow up to learn all of this and they are victims as well. I think her parents are still alive as well and she is their daughter. Please keep that in mind when posting.

Thank you.

Emily Glass found dead; Wichita police investigating reported suicide

Officer Charley Davidson said Jonathan Hernandez got to the home in the 600 block of South Edgemoor at around 1:30 a.m. and found Emily Glass dead of a gunshot wound. Police have said Hernandez has been "absolutely cooperative" in their investigation.

A rifle was found near Glass' feet and three suicide notes were found in the home, Davidson said. He declined to comment on the contents of those notes.

An autopsy will be conducted. Davidson said her death was reported as a suicide and the investigation is ongoing. A cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s office, he said.

Bringing the fwd to stare at:

“Jonathan said, while she was in jail, Glass called him a couple times to apologize for what happened. He said she told him she panicked.

"She said that she had panicked. I'm not sure if it is because she was smoking meth, which I had no knowledge of. I asked her why she didn't call 911? Why, if that's what happened and it was an accident and she was asleep and he died, why not call 911?" Jonathan told Grace.“

My brother killed himself with a rifle. I think he rigged something through the trigger then pushed it with his foot or something. People will figure it out. I've been suicidal before and I would have figured it out if that's all I had access to. Honestly it seems easier than hanging oneself from a doorknob... but I'm still a bit confused on the mechanics of that method.

Anyway, this is certainly a week for suicide, yikes!

Websleuths is the best on the internet for exactly this type of reason!!!

He does a really good job with these briefings - very professional but yet personable & relatable. I've always been impressed with him.

I am too but I am really disappointed that LE was not able to charge her and get her behind bars sooner to protect her from herself or others. I understand they needed to be thorough but it could have saved her life. And now there are two investigations outstanding. Uggggg.

Yes, Hatfield, I’m not sure if you saw my question, have you ever seen a strong suspect who led someone to the deceased body released from jail while pending autopsy? I’m really curious about this.

Did LE know she was suicidal? I know DM did...

I'm so sorry for your loss, and appreciate your willingness to share such a personal story. *hug*

@flourish I’m so sorry for your loss

Damn, you went there like I did. A rifle? That is giving me pause. I've used one for target practice- very awkward to use a rifle- trying to aim it and shoot. A gun, sure, but a rifle? I suppose it could happen.
Many people have used a rifle or shotgun to commit suicide. Curt Kobain if memory serves. I’ve even read a case where an attorney was demonstrating for the court how someone could and shot hkmself - his client was on trial for murder

We are all getting deep here this morning, sharing a lot...people sharing about their own loved ones committing suicide, sharing thoughts about our own pain and suicidal thoughts at times...

Little Lucas. What an impact you have had, in so many ways.

I saw a Batman doggie costume the other day and thought about you...
