Found Deceased KS - Lucas Hernandez, 5, Wichita, 17 Feb 2018 #34

I can't keep it going......all I heard was they asked EG if she had harmed Lucas and if she could show them where he was - she answered no to both and the polygraph showed deception on both of those replies.

There was only ever one report to Wichita police regarding Lucas. It was on My 16, 2017, and the calling party told 911 they thought Lucas was being abused, but didn't say why.

In order to file homicide charges, probably cause has to establish the killing of a human being. Evidence has to show it was not an accident or a natural occurrence.

Kansas law does not allow someone to be held while cause of death is determined, DA says.

DA says there is a failure to report the death of a child charge. But that can only be charged if they did it to conceal another crime, and they didn't have another crime to charge her with.

They couldn't charge her because basically the statutes in Kansas suck. What a shame.

There is no illegal dumping of a body charge in Kansas, DA says.

If they had charged her with interfering with police, she could have pleaded guilty the next day. Then she couldn't be charged with any other crime in Lucas' disappearance because of double jeopardy.

That includes homicide, he said.

(Which one?)
(ETA: never mind, I suppose you mean the summary of this inquest business? Sorry I post too fast for my own good sometimes.

(Hey instillagrandma, I was actually just going to pull your leg earlier, that I think I’ve found someone who posts longer posts than me haha. Last night in Rita Gutierrez-Garica’s thread I posted for 5 hours straight, 5 posts which each timed out after an hour.lol. ETA o/t, LE May have been reading here, yesterday they released potential search locations, can you believe it? Thanks folks from Team Lucas for joining over there! Major news yesterday)

Ok how long til the PC???
Ok, I’m back. Now, wait, what? Where do I start? Which thread? This one? I’m super excited interested, I need to remember to read new posts before I post. I’m excited in whatever means “our own” had an impact on Lucas’ case.

The body was x-rayed. No obvious evidence of trauma, like a blow to the head. Very limited information gleaned from the soft tissue due to decomposition.

DA says the office would have had to build a case on circumstantial evidence because there was no cause of death.

She would've gotten away with it. She. Would've. Gotten. Away. With. It.

He won't say whether or not he would have pursued a charge against her. But it would still be an active investigation if Glass had not died.

The press conference is to help people understand the scope of the investigation, he said. Yes, investigators checked what people had asked if they did, he said.
