Oh, y’all...not sure I can handle. Her little ones just walked in with their dad. Heart breaking.

When I was a teenager, my brother’s former girlfriend and a male friend both died of carbon monoxide while using the heat in their car as they sat talking late into the night. It was almost 100% an accident, which can happen, especially with older cars, and this was forty years ago. Not sure if the same thing can happen nowadays, and from using AC?

Does anybody know how they determine carbon monoxide poisoning without the toxicology report? I’ve known people that it took six months to get a tox screen back.
Here are some info about how to see if a person has died of carbon monoxide poisoning, How to tell if someone's been killed by carbon monoxide poisoning - Quora I don't know how long it will be seen on the skin, or how stable the carboxyhaemoglobin binding in the blood is after the death, but the signs of carbon monoxide as a cause of death are easy to detect without toxicology.

How long would skin color remain pink/red, I wonder?

Is there an autopsy report? I confess I haven't looked through the pages for it.

I hope that her catholic church family at St. Michael will have a mass or some kind of recognition for her.

As this is not a criminal investigation, I don't expect media will report further. Any news will have to come from family. I don't have knowledge if AR makes autopsy reports available to the public like Florida.

Has anyone come across marilanes obituary? I can’t seem to find it.

I just tried searching for it but had no luck. I find that a little strange (but that’s just me).

A. Autopsy and coroners reports Archives - The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press

ARKANSAS
Autopsy reports prepared by the State Medical Examiner are not considered medical records; however, these records are confidential under Ark. Code Ann. § 12-12-312(a) so long as they remain in the possession of the state crime lab. Once they leave the custody of the crime lab, however, the reports are subject to the FOIA unless another exemption, such as the act’s law enforcement exemption, Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-105(b)(6), is applicable. See Ark. Op. Att’y Gen. Nos. 2001-100, 99-110, 97-294, 87-353. If the autopsy report is prepared by someone other than the State Medical Examiner, the crime lab confidentiality statute would not apply. Ark. Op. Att’y Gen. Nos. 97-294 (autopsy report that was never in possession of crime lab is subject to disclosure), 87-135 (autopsy report of coroner qualified to conduct post mortem tests is available under FOIA unless otherwise exempted).

Records gathered and created during the course of a coroner’s investigation are exempt until the coroner’s final report is issued. However, medical information remains exempt, except as quoted in the final report. Ark. Code Ann. § 14-15-304.

I haven’t looked. But they may have chosen not to publish it. When my son passed, we chose not to publish the obituary because we figured everyone who needed to know already knew. Likewise, I recently learned a high school friend passed away a year ago. She was a teacher, and she and her husband also ran a non profit, so she was known in her community. I’ve searched and searched, and all I can find are vague articles stating she died in tragic accident while on vacation with her family. No obituary to be found.

It's strange indeed. The Pastor's church live-streamed the services (as linked up thread) but viewers that tried to watch later learned that due to technical difficulties, the live-stream was not recorded.

No obit, no record of services. MC is really gone.

The family tributes on their webpage were so touching. My heart just breaks for her entire family.
Maybe somebody can link this page for those that were unable to find an Obit.

I'm still kind of new to this site, and I hope that the question I am about to ask is not inappropriate, because Marilane's death has an official cause, and LE seems to have closed the books.

But is it OK to question the official version here? Or is there another place? I only ask because there is so much about her death that doesn't make sense to me. And the things that do not make sense are part of the official LE and family record. It just seems like there was an immediate dismissal, saying she committed suicide, but that there are a lot of really "hinky" (never used that word before I came here) things.

I will stop posting if requested. But Marilane's death bothers me, and not because of her mental health.

I heard reports from some of those who did watch it live and it was... um... something.

I’ll put it this way, there are people I’m not at all impressed with. I think Marilane’s happiness, mental health, well being, and last wishes were sacrificed on the altar of keeping up appearances for other people’s benefit.

I found that link here but I have been out of town and no time to look back through the thread.

Thanks for sharing your feeling with us @VanillaSky1970, and welcome to WS.

Good on you for posting your thoughts, and I think you are in very good company.

I believe there are a handful still lingering here not because they are in denial that mental illness is real, and understand this disease does not discriminate, and also understand that seemingly normal men and women commit suicide every day.

So even though the books are closed, and MC's blood was full of carbon monoxide, it can't stop you from wondering why she was never reported as missing and "endangered" if those closest to her knew she had a history of bizarre behavior or was exhibiting signs of mental distress.

Maybe she was had none of the above. Maybe she left home abruptly because she was downright angry! That happens too.

MOO

I am heartbroken about Marilane's case. For her, for her kids, for her parents.

What she may have gone through, and what has been discussed here has really struck a nerve with me. At one point, I, like many, thought about killing myself (it's okay to admit that). And when I did, I didn't want to hurt anyone or have them "clean up". Marilane may have felt the same?

I am better. ;)

But still, what happened with Marilane will haunt me for a bit. And I do not buy the official story.

My $0.02.

Longg time user here and honestly I’d have to go reread the rules. But I’m right here with you.
