This leads me to believe their hinky meter may have been raised prior to this. A kid missing a single soccer game - especially when the parents have an infant as well, infants who are notoriously unpredictable - is not generally cause for concern unless you have broader concerns about the mental health of one or both of the parents. Something tells me this unhinging has been brewing for a bit.

The Sheriff say there had been some 'back and forth' between him and other family members. I assume those conversations concerned them to the point that they went immediately to the house when they were a no show for soccer.

**CHILDREN IN AMBER ALERT FOUND SAFE**
Earlier this evening, one of our troopers overheard Beckham County broadcasting a vehicle matching the description of the amber alert vehicle, getting fuel at the 26 mm on I-40. Two of our troopers headed that way.
A short time later, Beckham County got a call from a truck driver that the vehicle was westbound at mile marker 7. One of our Port of Entry officers was at exit 7 and observed the vehicle go by. He got in behind the vehicle and activated his emergency lights. The vehicle kept driving and took exit 5 and stopped. The officer gave the driver commands to exit the vehicle and he did so. Within 2 minutes of the stop, troopers and Beckham County deputies arrived and assisted in taking 40 year old Donny Jackson into custody.

His 2 children that were with him are safe. Great job to everyone involved.

LEAVENWORTH COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -- Donald Jackson, Jr. had a hearing for a divorce from the mother of his children scheduled for three weeks after the day when two of his children were discovered dead and an Amber Alert was issued for two other children of his. Saturday night, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper arrested him and found the two children with him, unharmed.

At the home of his wife, the mother of the children, KCTV5 spoke with neighbors who said the couple were separated but trying to work things out.

According to Leavenworth County Court records, Jackson filed for divorce from his wife on August 20, 2019. Their next hearing was scheduled for November 12, 2020. On September 4, 2020, records show his attorney was granted permission to withdraw and Jackson began representing himself.

Neighbors said the couple lived separately. They said the two boys lived with Jackson at the rural Leavenworth County home where someone found them after going to check on them because one had missed a soccer game. The two girls who were abducted, they said, lived with their mother in Lansing. But they said Jackson visited his wife and the girls often, as recently as Thursday. The couple also had a baby, they said, who is approximately 8 months old and was not involved in the awful chain of events.

They were tearful as they talked about the children, whom their children played with -- grateful the girls were found and were okay but saddened and sickened by what happened to the boys. They expressed sympathy for Jackson’s wife and children’s mother.

The "why" is delusional thinking. In simplest terms he probably believed he was rescuing them from something and the boys did something that proved to him they were lost and part of the conspiracy against him.
